“Find out the secrets of the elf!”
Apple is an April Fools' bait-and-switch mod created by The Elf. The mod runs on Psych Engine and features 11 weeks, each one including 1 singular song in them. It has a history of updating every April Fools' since its release until 2025, where it instead released the day afterwards.
The Elf's Book
Upon advancing past the title screen for the first time, the player is greeted with The Elf's Book. This book documents the findings of The Elf, using his newfound powers acquired from Dimane to create and control a world of his very own. From the start, six pages are unlocked, and the player must complete the rest of the songs in order to uncover the rest.

Appearance
Fred appears in the mod as a disembodied, cropped head taken from the "It's Hackin' Christmas With Fred" album cover. In his poses, he moves in a grotesque manner, shifting his eyes and jaw into inhuman positions.

Peensum

Peensum is a recolored, depressed clone of The Elf made last-minute to forcibly take his role. He's one of the two opponents of 🤡, and the playable character in Alibi.
Appearance
Peensum appears similar to that of a light-skinned clown-like Elf. He wears a blue nightcap with a dark blue ball at the end. He has a long nose with a frowny red mouth. He wears a strange, dress-like blue clothing item with blue and black striped sleeves over his arms and a rounded fringe at the bottom. He has no legs or feet.
Trivia
- Peensum has accidentally entered Mr. Flynet's simulation while attempting to remove someone from it, upsetting Mr. Flynet. This was likely what 🤡 was based on.[2]
- While Peensum is based off the Grab-N-Gabs Tell the Elf Game just like The Elf, his name and appearance bear a striking resemblance to BadSum, the error/anti-piracy screen character from the Baldi's Basics series.

Mr. Flynet

Mr. Flynet is a character from the RadicalOne April Fools' week, resembling Austin from The Backyardigans. He appears in the latter half of 🤡.
Appearance
Mr. Flynet is a short, purple kangaroo with a blue and yellow striped short sleeved shirt and blue shorts, which could be interpreted as pants.
Trivia
- Despite his garden being advertised as "public", he dislikes visitors, even going as far to get his own guard dogs.[3]
- Peensum has accidentally entered Mr. Flynet's simulation while attempting to remove someone from it, upsetting Mr. Flynet. This was likely what 🤡 was based on.[4]
- If he gets mad enough, he will go insane as his neck extends to impressive lengths.[3]

Billbert

Billbert is the opponent in the song The Billy Bobbo Rap.
Appearance
Billbert appears as a tall, crudely drawn human with beige skin, red hair, two large black eyes that change in size, often with one being bigger than the other, a large, curved line for a mouth, a red shirt, and blue jeans with red shoes. Prior to 3.0.0.0, he gained a black tophat after asking the sprite artist to put a "Freddy Fazbear hat" on his sprite.

Chompo is a creepypasta character based off of Grab The Child, being the first opponent in Child.
Appearance
Chompo appears as a cyan "child", a Kirby-like species with round bodies and limbs. However, they differ significantly from the ones normally presented in Grab the Child, with hyper realistic textures and human-like eyes and mouth.

Alpha appears as a yellow "child", a Kirby-like species with round bodies and limbs. However, they differ significantly from the ones normally presented in Grab the Child, as its mouth takes up the entire lower half of its body. What appears to be flesh is exposed, and it bears a second set of human-like eyes. Its textures and face are entirely hyper-realistic, and a yellow "A" is embedded onto its head.

Mr. Man Protector

Mr. Man Protector is Senic's security system that malfunctions and detects him as a trespasser, leading into his attempts to kill Senic with his numerous traps. He reprises his role as the main opponent in Trespassed.
Appearance
Mr. Man Protector is represented as a tan, toy building structure. His roof is a teal color and appears to have a white, spinning valve attached. His upper torso has two large, square eyes peering through with two parallelogram-shaped frames imprinted directly above, possibly meant to depict eyebrows. His lower body has two, triangular frames with a zig-zag pattern and blue, handle-like objects, likely acting as a mouth.
Trivia
- While Mr. Man Protector was defeated in Trespassed, his fate in the original video; along with Senic and Knuckles; are left entirely up to question.
- The toy that Mr. Man Protector is portrayed as is actually of a character originating from the TV show Theodore Tugboat, said character is known as The Dispatcher.[8]

The Trap
As its name suggests, The Trap is one of two traps Mr. Man Protector sends out to kill Senic. It acts as the second opponent in Trespassed.
Appearance
The Trap is an orange bear-like object. Its face consists of two small eyes and a small curved line, potentially acting as a mouth and/or nose. On the sides of its body are what appear to be two small purple arms. Its upper and lower torso are split into two individual parts, allowing it to "trap" anyone inside.
Trivia
- In the original video, The Trap attacks Senic once more after Hellao is through with him, having Knuckles somehow save him once more. This was retconned in favor of Knuckles instead attacking and defeating Hellao.
- The Trap is a toy from a fast-food restaurant. The exact restaurant and toy are unknown, due to the tags being cut off.[9]

“Oh no!”

Knuckles is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He helps Senic survive the traps of Mr. Man Protector, acting as the third opponent and later ally in Trespassed.
Appearance
Knuckles appears identical to his pixelated appearance from his original debut, being a red anthropomorphic echidna with a crescent imprint over his chest, additionally wearing spiked gloves and red shoes with extra green and yellow coloring.

- While Knuckles is able to successfully defeat Mr. Man Protector and all of his traps in the mod, he only ever frees Senic from The Trap twice in the original. The fate of him, Senic, and Mr. Man Protector are also left entirely up to question.

Hellao is one of two traps Mr. Man Protector sends out to kill Senic. It acts as the fourth opponent in Trespassed.
Appearance
Hellao is represented as a crescent-shaped, dark blue rattle toy. His face is outlined in yellow, with a yellow sclera, green cheeks, a circular red nose, and pink lips. a red ring-like shape with yellow and green stars is attached, used to "trap" its victims.
Trivia
- Hellao is a Whoozit Chuckle Rattle.[10]
- The original toy used for Hellao couldn't be found for its sprites, therefore, Lancey instead utilized a 3D layering tactic in Paint 3D using an older photograph. [11]
- The original events of Trespassed had Hellao turn Senic into a Tiki totem pole through a long and painful process. This was later retconned in favor of Knuckles defeating it.

Mr. Slynet
Mr. Slynet is a deformed clone of Mr. Flynet created by The Elf, being the opponent in Give Up and True-o-Fangirl.
Appearance
Mr. Slynet appears similar to that of Mr. Flynet but is instead much taller and skeletal. He also holds a small, unshaded microphone in his right hand.
Trivia
- He tends to be nostalgic over the year 2019 over any given conversation, even thought said year is 10 years in the future in the mod's canon.[12]
- This is not meant to imply that time travel exists in the mod's universe however, as Mr. Slynet is just lying.[12]
- Mr. Slynet appears to exhibit shapeshifting abilities, suggested by the distinct changes in his facial features during his poses in "Give Up", which contrast noticeably with his default idle expression in the same song. This idea is further supported in "True-o-Fangirl", where his head and body undergo continuous distortion—most noticeably during his entrance and throughout the latter half of the track.
- The Elf gave Mr. Slynet bare minimum intelligence so he could at least follow his orders.

Flandre

Flandre Cool Awesome or simply Flandre is a character starring in the RadicalOne weekends. She is the first opponent in Alibi.
Appearance
Flandre Cool Awesome is a thin, crudely drawn knock-off of Flandre Scarlet from the Touhou Project series, appearing as a light-skinned blonde-haired winged girl. She wears a white nightcap over her head, a red dress over her body, and red shoes over her feet. Sprouting from her back are black wings made up of several multicolored crystals. She is overly exaggerated in several aspects, with oversized eyeballs and long and pointy fingers.

- Both of Flandre Cool Awesome's icons are traced from YouTuber Jerma985's face, more specifically an infamous edited photograph of him commonly associated with the phrase "When the imposter is sus!".
- Flandre Cool Awesome's fingers are sharp and pointy enough to be used as toothpicks.[13]
- Flandre Cool Awesome's "chromatic" heard in Alibi is the flute instrument from the Sega Genesis. And although it's practically the same instrument soundwise, the instrument from the soundfont Sky! used for Flandre Cool Awesome's voice is named "Square Wave". This Square Wave instrument comes from The Ultimate Megadrive Soundfont which has instruments from the Sega Genesis.[14]
- The flute instrument is heard in the music of Mystic Cave Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2.[15]

Appearance
Failure is a slender, purple humanoid being. He lacks many facial features, only having oval-shaped eyes. His only piece of clothing attire is a pale, orange-red shirt with cartoon shading.
Trivia
- Failure is capable of moving so quickly that it can be considered teleportation.[16]
- Failure is often the cause of bad luck around people, additionally inflicting fear in them.[16]
- Most characters in the original RedBall weekend from RadicalOne gain Failure-like eyes in their icon upon losing.

Ran is the opponent in Rekt. They originate from a now lost video titled "Vs. Bob Hellchart", in which they replaced Ron.
Appearance
Ran is a simplistic white person with stick limbs. They are entirely outlined in gray.

- Ran was based off of Vs. Bob Hellchart, being a replacement for Ron. Their debut video was taken down however, with only song covers remaining.[17]
- Ran strikes a clear resemblance to "David", a contestant in Battle for Dream Island. It's unclear if this was done on purpose or not.

The Elf's version of Boyfriend is the main playable protagonist of Friday Night Funkin', reprising his role throughout most of the mod's songs.
Appearance
Throughout the mod, Boyfriend maintains his usual appearance as a light-skinned young man. He has a red backwards cap with a blue brim, blue hair, a white t-shirt with a red "√-1" symbol, baggy blue pants, and big red shoes over his feet.
In Child, Boyfriend is drawn as a Child from Grab The Child, having his body reduced to a simplistic cyan circle with floating spherical hands. He still wears his shirt and shoes.
In Christmas Is Creepy, he was dressed in his holiday attire.
In Nerd, he was viewed through a first-person perspective with only his hand being visible.

- The Boyfriend found in most of this mod's songs is noted to be very much void of personality. Despite this, his Girlfriend loved him very much.

Bestie is a character in Apple. She appears as a background character for a majority of the mods songs, however in Five Nickel Plushies becomes playable after Boyfriend's death.

Bestie appears fairly similar to that of Girlfriend, having the same outfit and color scheme, what sets her apart from Girlfriend however is her round body, comically oversized butt and lack of arms. In The Billy Bobbo Rap, she is seen eating a cookie, in Give Up she has a shocked expression and in the second half of Five Nickel Plushies, she becomes playable and has tears in her eyes.

Shoeguy appears as a fusion between Steve and Hatguy, where both the characters appearances have been strangely fused together in a glitchy fashion, multiple parts of their skin also have inverted colors. Towards the end of Judge Dragon, he becomes crudely drawn along with Judge Dragon.
Trivia
Shoeguy was included in Judge Dragon as it was based off of Hypixel Speed Builders, in which LongDonny was using a fusion of their Minecraft skin and the original Hatguy20 skin at the time.[19] However, this was changed by request of BezieAnims to keep with the lore of Apple.[20]

Lancey

Lancey is a character based off of Lancer from Deltarune and is also a fangirl of said character. She is the playable character in True-o-Fangirl.
Appearance
Lancey appears as a female version of Lancer with a pink color scheme, a purple tuft of hair, and a heart symbol on her chest. In her poses, her colors change slightly, in her alternate poses, she gains yellow eyes with light yellow star-shaped pupils and later on into the song, she loses her colors.

- Lancey originates from a series of early Flipaclip videos on Lancey's YouTube channel.

- Prior to 3.0.0.0.0, The Billy Bobbo Rap's took the player to an outdated Ferocious gameplay video. This includes the scrapped access method of entering the song via playing as Garrett in Theft.

- Trespassed's takes the player to the context for the song and the events that unfold.

- The Freeplay icon for Rekt features a clown, rather than Ran.
- In the background sprites for Judge Dragon, a cropped Mine-imator watermark can be seen in the corner of the island during the first section and a cropped version of the shark-like structure can be seen on the sprite for the bushes in the perspective section. Neither of these are visible in-game, however.
- Existing in the files is a blank spritesheet for a character known as "Mark". This spritesheet is loaded in-game in Girlfriend's position, used to negate the need for any character to take her place. The original purpose of Mark is still left unknown.
- This same character is used in Robotic Rupture.
- 8owser, the YouTube streamer depicted as Ferocious Retrieval Unit, has seen and approved of Alibi.[27]
- This mod was originally a joke mod, as it was made as an April Fools' joke. However, as of the 3.0.0.0 update, it is no longer considered such, as the team has since decided to use this mod as a way to reveal more of the Vs. Dave and Bambi: Golden Apple Edition lore.[28]
