Distant Farlands, Formerly known as DisneyFunk, is a mod created by Magic League Studios (formerly known as Novatos Team). It is directed by Jara (also known as Ulka/Trogrexx), brongulo and co-directed by ForFurtherNotice. The mod was to act as the official 3.0 update for Vs. Mouse, where the entire mod was to be rebuilt from the ground up, with a revised story to accompany it.
Trivia (General)
- This mod stands as the official V3.0 update of Vs. Mouse.
- During 2022, The mod was originally started as The Madness Disks, an "All-Stars" of the Novatos Team that included Vs. Nimu, Vs. T, Vs. Mouse and Squidward's Bad Day. However, due to conflicts between Drunk Rat Studios and Magic League, as well as Magic League realizing how large the mod would be (over 9 gigabytes, yikes), The Madness Disks got scrapped, with all of the disks split into independent mods again.
- The mod is being separated into four parts, one for each disk of VS. Mouse.
- The mod's continuity strangely appears to be taking place in the middle of Summer.
- During an earlier point in Distant Farlands' development, the mod was being designed in what was called a "pseudo-anime style", however they are now using a more Disney-like art style, while still retaining elements of Jara's style and FNF.
- Vs. Mouse: Another Side used to be canon to Distant Farlands' lore, being an alternate timeline to the main story, although it has now been confirmed that it is no longer considered a canon aspect of the mod's lore.
- It was recently confirmed that, along with the mod, there will be a novel drawn and written by Jara, with writing assistance by Choccy. It is currently unknown what the novel will be about.
- Each part of the mod released would have included a couple minigames and one of the disks. The minigames would chronologically take place first, and the part would end with a "boss level," being one of the main disks.
- Instead of a Freeplay menu, the mod intended to allow the player to traverse parts of the island on a map, similar to the overworld sections of Cuphead.
