EXEmerge is a mod directed by Rust and Guts and Lifeless revolving around Kaua161's EYX/Sonic Editable ROM along with other Sonic.EXE and Sonic media such as the "Where Was My Hero...?" comic, raven’s EXE, and many more.

EXE, also known as Faker, is a former opponent from the Vs. Sonic.Exe mod and the main opponent in EXEmerge.
Biography[]
EXE is a creation of void matter created by Sonic.EXE/X, specifically the original one. After being created, Lord X adopted EXE and raised him as a son.. and a warrior. But because of how EXE was rebellious at times and went ahead of Lord X, he started to get mad and decided to banish EXE off Lord X's realm and into his own alternative universe to start his own legacy.
Despite the good choice that was, EXE now had one simple goal; and it's to eradicate all powerful beings, harvest their power with the Black Sun, and destroy the entire multiverse once and for all to become the "god" of everything.
Appearance[]
EXE's "faker" form is reminiscent of Classic Sonic, except for the deep shading, red eyeliner (likely his flesh), the adding of blue arms, lack of stripes on his shoes (Classic never had buckles on his shoes until Generations), and noticeably reddening pupils as he sings.
Halfway into Faker, he is staring at the plyer with a smirk. His poses show red in his “pupils” like before.
Unveiling his second form in “Black Sun”, EXE takes a new, more horrifying form, with his limbs & torso stretching to become extraordinarily long, giving him a tall, menacing appearance. His skin becomes pale-white, as well as his "gloves", and "socks" melting into his body. This stretching appears to rip his “quills” revealing patches of skin and flesh. His eyes begin to dissolve into their sockets, rendering them a hollow, pitch-black appearance, and his mouth stretches to fit his newly grown row of sharp, interestingly pure-white teeth (he likely loses his old teeth when he transforms back to his “Faker” form) while his nose has completely disappeared, likely melting inward like his eyes, being more akin to the nose bone of a human skull.
Farther into Black Sun, his hands become covered in blood. His head is more menacing looking, having larger teeth and black liquid drenching his enlarged jaw. His ears look like devil horns and his cranium is split. Even farther in, both of his eyes glow. At about 3/4 of the song, everything turns red and white, but EXE changes not. At the end, he is standing in complete shadow in front of Boyfriend, keeping his design and his eyes.
Personality[]
EXE is persuasive and charismatic; it is shown that he can easily trick others with his faker form, despite how off it truly looks. However, when he shows his evil (or “true”) self, he is a bloodthirsty maniac who strives only to kill others for his own benefit.

- EXE is aroace (which means aromantic and asexual at the same time).
- This was stated after EXE had his relationship with Needlem0use cut off after drama.
- EXE's victims have names.
- Tails is Lucas, Knuckles is Kyle, Amy is Alice, Metal Sonic is Jake, and Eggman is Gary.
- EXE is almost impossible to kill. However, he can be eradicated by a specific ritual being performed, which only Lord X or a variant of the original Sonic.exe have knowledge of performing correctly.
- EXE's "empty" eyes, while originally thought to be dilated pupils, are actually holes caused by "his eyes melting inwards" as confirmed by Revie.[1]
- The gameplay of EXE's game is completely personalized; it's either immediate death, or playable characters being given to you.
- He lures in players under the guise of playtesting. They usually don't live long enough to share feedback, though.
- Their name is just EXE, Not Faker.EXE, or Faker, or Sonic.exe (though this is a version of him), just EXE.
- However, he really doesn't care about titles or how he's referred as.
- EXE has no losing icon in Black Sun, instead EXE's second Black Sun Icon is used for when Boyfriend's health is low, making it a winning icon instead. This also makes him the sole character to have a winning icon.
- EXE's second song, Black Sun, is part of EXE's lore.
- The Black Sun is a giant orb of anti-matter and soul matter that serves as a torture chamber for EXE's victims and the source of a majority of his abilities.
- Interestingly, his icons match his poses in Black Sun, a neat, albeit unnecessary touch.
- EXE turning red halfway through Black Sun, with the blood on his quills turning white and his details turning black, seems to be a reference to Forgotten Remnant, which feature him sporting the exact same color scheme before the song's climax.
- Popular to the contrary, EXE made his debut on Revie03’s Newgrounds account, starring simply as a Sonic.exe redesign. He also starred in a YouTube video where he creepily rehearses the last part of “Green Hill Zone” WITH LYRICS by Juno Songs.

"Where Was My Hero...?" Miles is an evilish psychotic version of Tails that grew up without Sonic in a what-if universe and had a tragic cynical life leading to him becoming a cruel un-moral villain and a sadist. He comes from a now deleted video (That still can be watched via Wayback Machine.)] That was made on December 30th 2018, he also comes from it's own Interquels, (that were sadly cut short. And some are unavailable or lost.) the interesting one is the Prequel that can be watched here. and he is an upcoming opponent in this mod.

"Where Was My Hero...?" Miles appears as an older version of Tails with two unkept tails, baggy eyes, black leather gloves along with darkened pair of red sneakers, and a permanant evil smirk across his face. Along with augmented electronic eyes, eye lenses, and a combat spider-chasis like device, that is embeded in his spine. The nickname "Tails" came out of shame of his both two mutated tails.

EYX or Sonic.EYX is a malicious entity that haunts a Sonic ROM and leaks a player's personal info to a group of mysterious people. He appears as an opponent in the extras. However due to recent events, EYX could potentially be the star of EXEmerge instead of EXE.[2]
Appearance[]
EYX appears as a grotesquely tall and creepy entity resembling Sonic, having one singular giant eye, long legs and arms, red crack-like wounds and an eye-like symbol on his torso, and destroyed shoes. In his poses, his eye changes such as the iris dialating, turning red, or fading. His teeth also does the same, turning red or disappearing completely.

Ashura is a glitched green and black coloring of Sonic from a glitch in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The glitch can be made to occur by activating Debug Mode and placing waterfalls in a certain pattern or area. He is an opponent in the extra mode.
Wechnia (not to be confused with the EXE) is a glitch in Knuckle's Chaotix that gives Knuckles a broken color pallete.

Umbra appears as a form of sonic in a pitch black body with elongated arms and hands with sharp claws, torn gloves, a Cheshire smile, external ribcage spikes around his torso, quills that resemble the demonic horns of his true form.

Trivia[]
- During Black Sun, the background and characters turn a bright red. This is a reference to the famous sequence in the Forgotten Remnant mod in which the same thing occurs.
- Forgotten Remnant was oringally going to be included in mod as an entirely new song however it was later scrapped due to the drama the song surrounding being dead.[7]
- In the ending of black sun, the "Sun" is sucking everything up into it, making it more likely that the eclipse made the sun into a Black hole of sorts.
