Neon is the protagonist of the upcoming 2D platformer AdventNEON. They appear as a mod in Friday Night Funkin' and were created by CryoGX.
His mod takes place as Boyfriend and Girlfriend cross dimensions and arrive in the world of AdventNEON, where they find the titular protagonist themselves. Neon attempts to bring them to safety, only for Boyfriend to reject Neon's help and make it clear that he and Girlfriend are from another world. Boyfriend challenges Neon to a rap battle, confusing Neon, but they accept anyways, under the condition that they play Neon's music.
Appearance[]
Neon has green metal-like skin with an upside down cyan and a sky blue triangle-like marking on their forehead, as well as similar, smaller markings on the sides of their eyes, green spikes that resemble hair and orange eyes with white sclera and white pupils. And a purple line in a line.
They mainly wear a purple tank top with a lime green "10" symbol on the center of the tank top and a similar power button-like symbol on the back of the tank top, dark purple shorts, purple fingerless gloves with green patches on the back, purple headphones with lime green hollow circle rings on the sides of them and dark purple shoes with lime green soles and brighter purple parts.
During their idle animation, they stomp their left foot and are shown to have a confident grin on their face. They hold their microphone in their left hand.
When Neon enters Max mode in their third song, Transgression-F, their metal and eyes becomes neon green, and their clothes become shaded in various hues of dark and light green. They also seem to emit a supercharged lightning effect from their body. They no longer stomp their foot in their idle animation, and instead they stand still with a determined, stoic expression on their face. Notably, unlike most mod characters in their third phase/song (they get angry and no longer use a mic), Neon not only does not get angry in the third song, but they also still use their mic.
Trivia[]
- The -F added to the end of some of the titles denotes that they are rearrangements of similarly named tracks in AdventNEON.
- The -F at the end of the song names could also stand for Funkin', being that this is a mod for Friday Night Funkin'.
- Boyfriend and Girlfriend in their minus forms are a purposeful reference to the Friday Night Funkin' Minus mod.
- Neon's fourth-wall break to advertise AdventNEON marks the first time that a modded character has plugged their own series into their own mod.
- The art style of the mod and AdventNEON are similar to many 2D platforming games big and small, like Mega Man and Celeste. These games are cited as inspiration for the game itself, alongside other inspirations like Sonic the Hedgehog.
- As this mod replaces Week 6, Highrise-F replaces Senpai, Ordinance-F replaces Roses and Transgression-F replaces Thorns.
- Neon replaces Senpai and Max Neon replaces Spirit.
- The song that plays during the Neon remix of Getting Freaky is the Start screen of AdventNEON
- In 7 seconds into the song, the sound effect for the Phantom Ruby from Sonic Mania, and Sonic Forces can be heard.
- That said sound effect can also be heard on Transgression-F.

- Also, the first cutscene song is the Training Room track.
- When Neon point's out the fact that they can freeze time to punch faster, they are referencing their dodge ability.
- Neon icons are their in-game head with a lower number of bits and of shading.
- If Boyfriend got maxed out in TRANSGRESSION-F, then it means that he has either more power or anit's the result of an error, since in the original game, getting damage cut's half of your energy, getting you out of the max mode, but probably the distortions could be forcing the max mode to be on, since it forced it to activate in the first place.
- The arrows in the mod are stylized to resemble Bits from the original game which restore Neon's Health.
- There will be a Kickstarter for Advent Neon coming out soon (it is out now so back it up so that it can reach the goal), kind of like FNF itself.
