For more results regarding Squidward Tentacles or The Red Mist creepypasta, see also: Squidward (disambiguation).

Monday Morning Mist is a mod created and directed by Crumby, and is the original version of Mistful Crimson Morning, with a demo created and nothing else. The original mod never got far, as the mod's V2 got scrapped sometime in its development, and then the mod morphed to the Mistful Crimson Morning mod we know today. However, this mod is getting an official remake and is no longer connected with Mistful Crimson Morning.

Story

Boyfriend and Girlfriend wake up on Conch Street, recalling that before they ended up there they were sucked in by Daddy Dearest's TV, after that Boyfriend spots someone, Squidward. Boyfriend decides that he wants to rap battle him, little does he know whats coming...

Red Mist Squidward

...
― Red Mist Squidward, Monday Morning Mist

Squidward Tentacles is one of the 10 main characters from the SpongeBob SquarePants series. He is SpongeBob’s apathetic next-door neighbor and co-worker, and is an amateur artist and clarinet player.

This specific version of Squidward (known as Red Mist Squidward) originates from the "Red Mist" creepypasta, more commonly known as Squidward's Suicide. He is the opponent of the mod demo's main week, consisting of the songs Misery and Mist.

Story

To read the story, click "Expand".
Our story begins with the narrator, an intern at Nickelodeon in 2005, getting to see episode "Fear of a Krabby Patty" days before it actually aired, along with some other interns and editors in the studio. However, instead of said episode, the title card presented "Squidward's Suicide", which, at first, they just shrugged it off as a morbid joke.

The episode began with Squidward practicing his clarinet, when SpongeBob's laughter interrupts him. Squidward yells at him to keep it down as he has a concert to practice for. SpongeBob agrees and goes to see Sandy with Patrick. Then, the bubbles splash screen transition comes on and shows Squidward hiding behind the theatre curtains, visibly nervous about his upcoming performance.

When the presentation begins, the audience is repulsed by Squidward's awful performance, and boo at him, aggressively. Even SpongeBob booed, very much unlike him. Weirdly, however, the whole crowd had weirdly realistic, extremely detailed bloodshot eyes. Squidward is visibly traumatized at the sheer rage from the crowd.

The narrator, along with the others, were obviously confused, but still decide not to question it.

The next scene happens shortly after the concert, presenting Squidward in his home, sitting on the edge of his bed. He was saddened, but very silent. The silence lasted for about 30 seconds until he started to sob softly, putting his tentacles in his eyes. Meanwhile, a breezing, windy sound in the background very slowly grows from nothing to barely audible.

As the screen slowly zooms in on Squidward's face, his sobbing turns into crying, the screen twitches, the windy sound slowly gets more and more stormy, and, very faintly, the sound of children laughing could be heard as well.

After 30 more seconds of this, the screen blurred and twitched violently as a gory image of a dead child flashed over the screen for a single frame. Everyone was mortified, but prayed that it was all a morbid joke.

As Squidward continued to have a mental breakdown, His tears turned red with blood, The storm sounds had evolved into a full on tornado and the laughing became deeper and scarier. After about 20 seconds, another dead child photo flashed the screen, once again horrifying everyone.

Once 5 seconds had passed after the second photo played, Squidward finally went silent, as did all sound. He put his tentacles down from his eyes to reveal his now big, red and hyper realistic eyes, just like the crowd at the concert. he then began staring at the screen, breaking the 4th wall, for about 10 seconds.

Afterwards, he resumed his crying, but without covering his eyes. His sobbing was mixed with terrifying screams, inducing fear in everyone on the studio. Tears and blood dripped down his face as the wind sound came back, and so did the deep voiced laughing. There was also a third dead child image that lasted for a good 5 frames.

The lead sound editor decided to pause the episode and called in Stephen Hillenburg himself to see what was happening. He arrived within about 15 minutes, very confused as to why he was called down there, so the editor just continued the episode.

Once the few frames were shown, each and every sound had stopped, permanently this time. Squidward was just staring at the viewer, full frame of the face, for about 3 seconds. Out of nowhere, the shot quickly panned out as a deep, monstrous voice spoke...

"DO IT".

Squidward revealed to have a shotgun in his tentacles. He immediately puts the gun in his mouth and pulls the trigger without hesitation. Realistic blood and brain matter splattered his bed and the wall behind him as he flies back with the force. The final 5 seconds of the episode showed his bloddied body, laying dead on the bed, with one eye dangling on what's left of his head above the floor.

As complete and utter horror took over the room, Mr. Hillenburg was furious, demanding an answer to the absurdity presented on the screen. And so, a small group, including the narrator, remained to rewatch the episode in order to analyze it. Viewing the episode twice only contributed to imprint the entirety of it in the narrator's mind, causing horrible nightmares. Staying there was their biggest regret.

Unfortunately, even with the rewatching, nobody could explain why or how what just happened happened. The CTO was called to analyze it, but they didn't have an explanation. All equipment involved was examined, but everything checked out fine. Even an investigation of the photos was organized and still nothing came of it. None of the children were identified and no clues of any kind could be gathered. To this day, no one can explain why or how the events that had transpired that day occured.

Appearance

In Misery, he appears like he usually does in the Spongebob series, except gloomy and soulless due to being booed in The Concert.

In Mist, he now has bloodshot red eyes, and ink coming out of his right eye like he's crying.

Trivia

  • The reason as to why the scrapped Misery and Mist sprites were scrapped was due to them being traced.
    • The scrapped sprites being bad is what caused Banana Leaf, the artist for the mod to join it.
  • His idle on Mist is broken, only being shown stretched and static in the mod.
  • In his scratch posts, his and Bootleg Spongebob's poses are animated better than they're animated in the actual mod.
  • There are multiple sprites for him found in the files with only slight changes (i. e. without white outlines, animated differently)

Bootleg SpongeBob

The current whereabouts of the tape are unknown, and many who stare at this image for a long enough period of time claim to see SpongeBob blink...
― Narrator, SpongeBob Bootleg Episode Creepypasta

Bootleg Spongebob, better known as Dumped Spongebob is a version of Spongebob from the "Spongebob Bootleg Episode" Creepypasta. He is the opponent of the Freeplay song Dumped.

Story

The image in which Bootleg SpongeBob appears in comes from a split second frame of a corrupted bootleg of the SpongeBob episode "Dumped". The rest of corrupted episode consists of random, incomprehensible jumbles of colors, static, or just black screens. The audio seems to be an extremely distorted version of the original episode's audio, accompanied with loud, droning buzzes occasionally interrupting it.

The tape itself was found in December of 2004, when a group of 5 teenagers began rummaging through a trash can found within an abandoned mental institution. Of these 5 teenagers, 2 have committed suicide, 1 has gone missing (found dead inside of a dustbin one year after the discovery of the tape), 1 refuses to comment on the tape, and the last one hastily agreed to give to the paranormal investigators the tape shortly after being interviewed about what happened the other 3.

As of now, the tape has gone missing, nowhere to be found, and many who stare at the SpongeBob image for long enough claim to see him blink.

Appearance

Bootleg SpongeBob depicts SpongeBob's normal appearance, with the exception of large, hyper realistic, bloodshot eyes and the complete lack of a mouth. He is also standing like hes crouching and having his hands around his back.

Trivia

  • Bootleg Spongebob shares the song name "Dumped" with 2 Bootleg Spongebobs, that being Mistful Crimson Morning and Friday Night in Bikini Bottom: Lost Episodes.
  • Banana Leaf doesn't like the way they drew Bootleg Spongebob's sprites.
  • According to XXXMickeyTesticles5480 (The person who drew Mistful Crimson Morning Dumped's sprites), Bootleg Spongebob's wife is dead.
  • Bootleg Spongebob's BG takes place on Conch Street, this is likely due to Banana Leaf not making a Background for him and the mod's state being a demo.

Wormy

*buzzing noises*
― Wormy, Wormy (Episode)

Wormy is a Monarch butterfly who terrorized Bikini Bottom until Sandy came back and saved the day, he is also a rejected character for Monday Morning Mist, despite the other two unused characters going unused due to the v2's cancellation Wormy got canned due to being a rejected concept; however he will return in Monday Morning Mist: Rehydrated, the unofficial remake to this mod.

Appearance

Worm form
Before the Wormy we all know today, Wormy was once a green worm inside of a jar with a stick inside of it.

Butterfly form
After Metamorphosizng, Wormy now appears as a Monarch Butterfly with Orange wings, inside of a bubble created by SpongeBob.

Trivia

  • Despite being a drawn as a Monarch Butterfly in the episode, the close-up of Wormy is instead of a Horse-fly.
  • Wormy is the only canonical Spongebob character from an earlier season to not be a main character to be added into the mod.

Wardrobe.EXE

Wardrobe.EXE is a joke character Created by Banana Leaf that was basically made to "mock your average creepypastas".[4] He went unused due to nobody making a song for him, In the unoffical revival from Banana Leaf however, they will return, but no longer as a joke character.[5]

Appearance

Current
Wardrobe.EXE appears to be a rectangle shaped being, presumably a Sponge; wearing brown shorts and shoes, white short sleeves that come from nowhere as he isn't wearing a white shirt, and strings, which may suggest that Wardrobe.EXE is a puppet.

Old
Wardrobe.EXE, originally called "Spongebob.EXE" or "Funnybob.EXE" in this era, appears to be a crudely drawn drawing of Spongebob with pitch black eyes and is holding a gun emoji.

Trivia

  • Despite the demo of the mod getting reworked to Mistful Crimson Morning, He never came back. This is due to Banana Leaf getting kicked from the MCM team due to not having Discord.
  • Wardrobe.EXE got his name "Wardrobe" because Banana Leaf thought it was pretty funny.[6]
  • Wardrobe.EXE used to have different lore.[7]
  • His current design is eerily similar to Spong's scrapped 3D design and his design in Serpent.

You're Cringe

what is that? is that your fucking mermaid man persona? that's cringe.
― Squidward, You're Cringe comic

You're Cringe is an unused character for Monday Morning Mist. As of now it is unknown which character we wouldve faced, its either we played as Spongebob against Squidward or we were just Boyfriend agaisnt Squidward. Despite the mod getting an unofficial revival, You're Cringe will not come back.[8]

According to Old MCM Archive, nothing was done for this.

Trivia (General)

  • This mod was a running joke on the now defunct NSM discord server due to it's poor quality making for several jokes at it's expense.
  • For quite some time, this mod was unknown to most Mistful Crimson Morning fans, and the only reason as to why it was found is due to this old tweet from a really old QnA.
  • The GameBanana page for Monday Morning Mist's Demo build has only one thing inside it, an image of Squidward. The reason as to why is because Crumby didn't like the demo and Crumby doing that caused most of the mod to be Lost for quite some time until a person named Memory_001 on the now defunct NSM Discord server managed to find the .zip file of the build, as a result of Crumby mentioning the zip files name, which was "tape.zip"
  • According to VibeWithGalaxy, this wasn't the first Red Mist mod Crumby has made; as there was one prior and this one was a revival of that said mod.[9]
  • There was a planned V2, but it got scrapped.[10]
  • Old MCM Archive, a scratch post by Banana Leaf documenting Monday Morning Mist, was conincidentally made a few days before most of the MCM fanbase discovered of this mod's existance.
  • Almost all of the Songs in this build share names to songs from Mistful Crimson Morning
    • The one song who doesn't share names are Misery (Unused songs do not count.)
  • Thedyingmonkey never worked on Monday Morning Mist, Crumby just took the MIDI and credited him.[11]
  • A bunch of the mod's assets can be found on Scratch.
    • The assets seem to be made using the vector feature on said website.
  • After Older mists FLP was found, a remake would start being worked on for MCM V2s freeplay, MCM V2 ended up getting cancelled though while it was being made.
    • The remake will still be finished though, and a preview can be found on MCM'S music page.

Leitmotifs

  • The Main Menu theme is a direct reference to the Spongebob theme, but played slower.
