Yooooooooooo is that Vs. Dave and Bambi: Golden Apple Edition! - Grey

This mod has more than 200,000 views and 200 likes on its download page. It is a fan favorite and well known within the community!

Note: The mod has reached almost 600 likes! Just like the original Vs. Dave and Bambi, this mod is well-known in the FNF community for its creative characters and very outstanding music.

Vs. Dave And Bambi: Golden Apple Edition (often abbreviated as FNF: Golden Apple, Golden Apple or simply just Gapple) is a fan-made mod based on Vs. Dave and Bambi created by Sky!.

This mod is mainly a collection of custom characters based off the original cast, alongside other songs centered around various aspects of the mod and its community. It currently has a total of 7 songs, and 33 extras.

Trivia (General)

  • Golden Apple was originally made as a fake leak for the original Dave and Bambi, featuring Disruption (when trying to load in Screwed) before it was further expanded with Applecore.
  • The countdown presented in this mod is taken straight from RadicalOne.
  • The loading screen is a direct reference to Dave's Fun Algebra class, and, by extension, the one used in the original Baldi's Basics Classic.
  • The Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme Demon difficulties in the "TOP 10 AWESOME!!!" category are based off the demon difficulties from Geometry Dash.
    • Strangely, Insane Demon, a difficulty harder than Hard Demon but easier than Extreme Demon, is absent.
  • Viewing a locked secret song through its menu will play "I'm Angey" from the original mod.
  • Attempting to access the chart editor in any secret song will close the game and open "caught.txt", which reads:
    • "You really, seriously thought you could get away with that? Pathetic.
    • "super huge thanks to lr1999 for writing this code :)"
  • This is the only fan-made Dave and Bambi mod that the creator of the original mod, MoldyGH, has contributed to.
  • The "Moar.png" image found in the files original from a Scratch project Lancey made.
  • A fake "leaked build" for the mod was released on August 30th featuring a short platforming minigame involving collecting phones. Screwedathon also plays in the background.[2]
    • When the minigame is complete, the text in the upper right corner changes from "Collect Phones." to "phone! Phone! Phone! Baba dum why da Phone! Phone! Phone! What's up Bambi Bass Nation! It's True Screwed Tuesday! Post all your dank Screwed memes, listen to Screwedathon by Lexicord, and have a Terrific True Screwed Tuesday!"
    • In the files for the previously mentioned build, 112 duplicates of a short video featuring Silly can be found in the image folder for the difficulty graphics.
  • FLP files from Sky! were publicly available at one point, however they have all since been deleted alongside the folder containing them being renamed to "THE ELF GOT TO US", likely referring to Penis Elf.[3]
  • The appearance of the upcoming mode selection menu is a reference to PaRappa the Rapper.

Unlockables

  • To unlock the secret song Cell, press 7 in Algebra.
  • To unlock the secret song Ticking, press 2 to activate the mouse pointer in Disruption, then click the timer at the top.
  • To unlock the secret song RECOVERED_PROJECT, the player needs to lose in Disability and then press the escape key during the game over screen.
  • To unlock the secret song Dave X Bambi Shipping Cute, the player has to scroll far down in the main menu until eventually reaching the song.
    • Due to the main menu being changed in the upcoming update, it is unknown whether or not this method will be changed in the future.
  • Each opponent and their alternate forms can be unlocked as a playable character by beating one of the songs they appear in with an accuracy of 90% or higher. There are some exceptions, including:
    • Back-facing 3D Boyfriend.
    • Garrett and Boyfriend on the pad of the future.
    • David.
    • White Pixel Boyfriend and Bandu.
    • Bandu during Ready Loud.
    • Bambi during Bookworm.
    • Bandu during Slices.
    • Sinta.
    • All secret characters.
    • Alt sprites that exist on the same spritesheet as an unlockable character.

Dave's Fun Algebra Class is a mod for Baldi's Basics Classic developed by Moldy Games, and the main setting that Algebra, Theft, Too Shiny and Cell is based off.

Released on July 19th of 2019, Dave's Fun Algebra Class featured the first appearance of Dave, with the objective being to collect 7 different papers scattered about the schoolhouse. While the gameplay does not differ too significantly from Baldi's Basics Classic, a few characters have minor adjustments that make things more inconvenient for the player. For example, Dave (replacing Baldi) now has the movement patterns of 1st Prize due to him being in a wheelchair while still having strong hearing capabilities, and Diamond Man (replacing Arts and Crafters) immediately teleports the player back to the start if they look at him for too long, even if they do not already have the 7 papers.

Alongside the original mod, it ended up getting many different sequels and spin-offs over the years, with a remastered version currently in development with several changes and improvements from the original, such as an entirely new map and game styles.

Similarly to Dave's Fun Algebra Class, Garrett's Funny Animal Game is a now-deleted mod for Baldi's Basics Classic developed by Jumpman25, and the main setting that the current version of Ferocious is based off.

Released on April 5th of 2019, Garrett's Funny Animal Game features the first appearance of Garrett, a character included in Dave's Fun Algebra Class replacing It's a Bully. As he takes Baldi's placement in this mod with the same movement patterns, the player's objective is to collect 7 drawings around the playhouse, with Garrett teaching them about animals instead of asking them various math questions. This mod is infamous for its ridiculous difficulty due to significant amplifications of many of its characters, making it extremely difficult if not outright impossible to complete normally. For example, The Wizard (replacing It's a Bully) frequently switches between various positions nearby the player and disorienting their camera when interacted with without any items, and Do You Accept (replacing Arts and Crafters) constantly follows the player around repeating his iconic catchphrase, teleporting the them back to the start upon interaction. However, this mod has Fasguy's Mod Menu built-in, allowing the player to cheat in order to access otherwise unseeable scenes, such as the game's ending.

Garrett's Funny Animal Game is no longer available, as it has been taken down by Jumpman25 shortly after Ferocious's release. No future plans for any remasters or continuations are currently planned, and likely never will be seeing as how the creator has gone inactive on Gamebanana.

Roly-Polys No Nanakorobi Yaoki is a surreal Japanese edutainment title developed by Osamu Sato, being the main setting that The Big Dingle is based off.

This game is mainly centered around teaching players English and Japanese proverbs through selecting a letter or character. When selecting a letter, it displays a word that starts with it, which in addition also plays either a brief animation or a minigame, showing a proverb that is in relation to the animation shown. When selecting a character, it brings up a screen with said character and their belongings. Regardless of which option was chosen, the player can bring up an encyclopedia to learn more about the proverb or character in either language.

While the game was previously lost media, numerous archives of it have been found and shared online.

Golden Apple Resumed is a mini-series centered around providing facts and trivia about the characters and songs featured in Vs. Dave and Bambi: Golden Apple Edition. It is the main setting that Resumed is centered around.

The series consisted of two mascots, both named Dambai and Dambu. They spoke using a Text-To-Speech software and provided explanations on several different aspects of the mod, using static images representing themselves. The series was later on removed from the public, with the creator's intention of starting over.

One Night at Flumpty's 2, as the title suggests, is a fangame created by Jonochrome of Five Nights at Freddy's, a game centered around surviving the night by utilizing various game mechanics. The setting of Ready Loud in particular is based off Marcello_TIMEnice30's (quite loud) video on the fangame, in which he attempts to play through with little success.

Memory1

A screenshot of the Pre-Alpha found in the current version's nostalgia folder

As the name suggests, the Vs. Dave and Bambi Pre-Alpha is the oldest version of Vs. Dave and Bambi, being the main setting that OG is based off.

Due to this version being the earliest, the mod was much more bare bones compared to the more recent builds, featuring only the earliest versions of the first two songs of Dave's week: House and Insanity. In these songs, the stage used stock assets with the same layout as the default Week 1 stage, with Dave's icons being a lighter cyan color instead of a dark blue. The most notable difference here is Dave's appearance itself, who instead uses a pure white placeholder sprite of Daddy Dearest from the first week of the base game.

While the download for the Pre-Alpha is no longer officially available, reuploads from other sites still exist.

Sicktricks

The original GIF

Sick Tricks, Dave! is a GIF created by an unknown user, and the setting that Sick Tricks is based off.

In it, the titular character Dave navigates the skatepark in Roblox title Robloxian High School, accompanied by the caption "SICK TRICKS DAVE!".

Paint3DCanvas

Paint 3D's default canvas

Microsoft Paint 3D is a default application available on Windows devices beyond Windows 10. It is the software all 3D characters featured in the mod use, alongside being the main setting for RECOVERED_PROJECT as a whole as well as the setting for the upcoming song CORRUPTED_FILE

Paint 3D allows the user to create models using a small selection of shapes and stock assets. An option for drawing 2D objects is also available, either on the canvas itself or directly on any of the shapes. Stickers and text can also be added on these 2D spaces, making for a useful way of adding textures onto the model. Lastly of these limited features, the user can change the lighting or canvas size, and export the project as either a 2D image, a 3D file, or a video displaying the full model.

Due to the program being a default Microsoft Paint application, it can sometimes be very buggy when it comes to trying to perform various actions, such as the software crashing or the file being corrupted, leading to unexpected results. In the case of the former, Paint 3D stores one backup of the project, which the user can open at any point until another backup is created.

Occasionally, models in Paint 3D can become corrupted which causes a multitude of strange things to happen to them, such as colours changing, textures swapping, sometimes with both happening to certain parts, because of the often drastic effects of these corruptions, its often incredibly difficult or outright impossible to fix models affected by it.

Game Over screen

Carl's Dwindling Game is a mod for Baldi's Basics Classic developed by rapparep lol, and the main setting that the upcoming version of Ferocious is themed around.

This mod features the titular character Carl as the player wanders about his place collecting the 7 minerals scattered about for no currently specified reason. Since Carl isn't a teacher, he does not instruct the player on solving any problems related to school subjects, and instead begins chasing the player after they have collected 2 as part of his game of Hide-and-Seek. Most of the mod's cast differs significantly from the original game, with WD-Walt (replacing the Principal of the Thing) not scolding the player for breaking any rules and instead showing the player his WD collection if he's look at long enough. Four Hater Fred (replacing Arts and Crafters) also gets angered when stared at for too long after collecting 4 or more minerals (hence his name), and the Pinball Machine (replacing Gotta Sweep) moves significantly slower and doesn't push around the player or any NPCs. In the final stretch, the method to exiting the place after collecting the 7 minerals is also much different, involving the player needing to have picked up and used the Exit EL Opener (an entirely new item replacing the Alarm Clock) at some point during the run in order to leave. Carl also begins to progressively gets faster with each exit to the point where he gets faster than the player, while a unique music track created by MoldyGH plays in the background. Due to this mod being created at a much later time in the Baldi modding scene, it's the most fair and balanced (and quiet) mod currently planned to be featured in Golden Apple.

This mod is still in development with it currently being 95% finished, however a prelease version has been made public on November 26th of 2022 for people to play.

Marcello's In Pro Gamer nice Tutorial (otherwise referred to as Marcello's The Nice AND COLLECT OFGAMER AcT:ONE THE STORE GAME MUN) is yet another mod for Baldi's Basics Classic developed by Marcello_TIMEnice30, and the main setting that Nice is themed around.

Released sometime around 2021, this mod features the titular character Marcello, owner of the Mun Store the player explores to find the 7 pieces of gaming equipment. Along the way, Marcello instructs them to solve 5 sets of questions, with most of them being either opiniated, trivia-based, or just plain obvious. The player is given a couple advantages throughout their run that aren't normally present in the game, such as the NICE_POP (replacing the BSODA) having 3 uses before disappearing from the player's inventory, and Moldy (replacing Playtime) giving the player a random item every time they complete their minigame. Despite this, however, this mod is still very difficult to complete due to numerous other factors, such as Marcello getting progressively faster and faster in the final chase, random events happening to hinder their progress, and Moldy's jumprope minigame even bugging out and preventing the player from progressing without usage of a Hammer (replacing the Safety Scissors. It is also known to be one of the loudest mods, as even normally quiet sounds such as the cafeteria ambience have been replaced with heavily amplified noises.

This mod has been discontinued as of July 17th of 2021.

The Marcello Interview is a video of T5mpler and a couple other Gapple devs interviewing Marcello on his Baldi's Basics Mod, the aforementioned Marcello's In Pro Gamer nice Tutorial, and is the setting of the upcoming song, Curveball.

Gameplay

Fun Games with Loft Animals is a Scratch project created by user TecheVent centered around the player taking care of and raising their own loft animal. It is the basis for Lofthouse.

In the title screen, the player is able to customize their loft animal before starting. The game begins with the Tutorial Cat meeting Bandu, whom the player plays as. After hatching the loft animal, the player has to partake in various minigames to progress, such as catching candies, battling Garrett and typing a simple prompt for Silly. Once Bandu's shift finally concludes, the game ends.

A sequel was created at a later point, focusing more on being a simulator-type game where the player has to raise points to buy more boosters before their loft animal's HP can drop to zero.

Thats so screwed

thats so screwed man.

Screwed is a VERY prominent meme in the Dave and Bambi community and is the basis behind the song Screwedathon. Screwed was originally a fantrack created by ThatPizzaTowerFan which would go on to be added to the actual Dave and Bambi mod, however a vast majority of the dev team hated the song and because of this and controversy with the songs composer, it would be removed and eventually replaced by Indignancy in the 3.0 update.

Since then, Screwed has gained a boatload of ironic popularity and has effectively become a meme in the community, with the quote "thats so screwed man!" often being said in referral to it.

Cart ride !!

One of the icons used for Cart Ride into Dave and Bambi

Cart Ride into Dave and Bambi (also known as CRIDAB) is a Roblox game based off of Dave and Bambi and its fanmods and is the main setting for Glamrock.

CRIDAB is a Roblox game developed by EggsDeePrince, Lancey's brother. The main focus of the game is to ride through various Dave and Bambi characters using the many different carts available to earn points and achievements. The game, however, is also a roleplay game as players can use the coins that they earn to buy various characters to play as (one of these being Cameo, one of the main characters in Phobic Funkin'). Glamrock Freddy is also shown in a supposed "leak" for the game[4], however he doesn't appear in CRIDAB but rather its now cancelled sequel, Dave's Fun Roleplay game

Vs. Dave and Bambi Golden Apple: NEVER BEFORE SEEN LEAKS??? (NEW FEROCIOUS!!!) is a joke Golden Apple leak videos created by Cynda, TH3R34LD34L & SAMMYPIGZY, and is the source for the scrapped song, Badhole.

The video is your typical fake leak video, showing images of "leaks" while music plays in the background. This video has now been unlisted off the channel, due to TH3R34LD34L composing the background music.

This source comes directly from the base mod's early content for the 3.0 update, and is the main setting for the (ironically named) scrapped song, Scraped. More specifically, this song would've focused on Electric Cockadoodledoo, Long Nose John, and the Confronting Yourself Tristan cover songs, which were all cut from D&B 3.0 during its development.
