Red Mist Squidward[]

Squidward Tentacles is one of the main characters of the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise. He is SpongeBobā€™s apathetic next-door neighbor and co-worker, and is an amateur artist and clarinet player.

This specific version of Squidward (known as Red Mist Squidward) originates from the Red Mist creepypasta, more commonly known as Squidward's Suicide. He is the opponent of the modā€™s main week, consisting of the songs Humiliation, Mist and Doomsday.

Appearance[]

Throughout Humiliation, Squidward appears as he normally does in the SpongeBob series, though with the addition of a saddened, tired expression, a single tear in the corner of his right eye and a gray, hairy beard, referencing the infamous SpongeBob episode "Are You Happy Now?". He's also holding his beloved clarinet in his right tentacle. During the first half of Mist, Squidwardā€™s eyes become bloodshot and his pupils shrink into a small black and white circle, referencing the infamous "Red Mist Eyes" from the original creepypasta. He now also wields a shotgun that he holds with his right tentacle while his left one curves like a zig-zag. His expression has gone from depressed to deranged as his eyebrows shoot up and he sports a grimacing smile. Not to mention he apparently shaves off his beard completely.

In the second half, he begins holding the shotgun properly with two tentacles, pointing it at Boyfriend. His still bloodshot eyes are now almost entirely enveloped in a big black iris with a glowing white ring-like pupil.

In Doomsday, Squidward's smile changes into a deadpan frown, he seemingly begins slouching, his skin changes from blue to gray, his shirt's color darkens, and most importantly, his eyes and nose are enveloped what seems like a black, misty shadow that covers nearly half of his face, causing his eyebrows to stand up. His eyes, enveloped in a red glow, have become more hyper-realistic and human like, with a red iris, black pupils, a white sclera and visible veins. He's also crying tears with the same color as his pupils that stream over his mouth. His shotgun is now being held in the air with his right tentacle as his left one dangles beside him.

While having flashbacks of his failed concert mid-Doomsday, Squidward's appearance changes back to Humiliation, except he has no beard and is facing towards the camera. His expression is nervous and panicked in his idle and poses due to the audience's negative reception of the concert. He is crying normal tears in both eyes and holds his clarinet down with his right tentacle.

The second time that he has flashbacks, his appearance becomes more similar to Doomsday, but lacking the red eyes and kneeling down in complete failure as the audience boos at him.

It is worth noting that Squidward's upcoming redesign will adhere to the SpongeBob artstyle.

Trivia[]

Humiliation

  • Humiliation was formerly known as "Sadness",[2] but it was changed due to Humiliation being more fitting.
  • Humiliation takes place outside of Squidward's house, while Mist and Doomsday happens inside of it, in his room.
    • This could potentially imply upcoming cutscenes that would explain such a change in location.
  • Squidward's scrapped Humiliation/Sadness remaster was scrapped because the very artist that made it (Divydez) was the one who leaked both the sprite and the entire old version of Doomsday, causing both the sprites and the music to be scrapped.

Mist

  • While transitioning from Humiliation to Mist, Squidward shaves his beard.[3]
  • Squidward tries to shoot Boyfriend during Mist because Boyfriend is just delaying his fate and he just can't stand him anymore.[4]

Doomsday

  • The reason Squidward's appearance changes so drastically in "Doomsday" is that the episode was supposed to end around the time "Mist" ended with Squidward shooting himself. Not knowing what to do at that point, the episode begins to kill Squidward itself by making him decay rapidly.[5]
    • Squidward himself wants the pain to end, but Boyfriend keeps persisting, causing Squidward's pain to worsen. [6]
  • The reason why Squidward's tears are black & red during the first half of Doomsday is because the tears are made out of ink, which is, in technicality, Squidward's blood (Prioritizingly due to the SpongeBob episode Ink Lemonade).[7]
  • For some strange, inexplicable reason, the second half of Doomsday (After the fist concert flashback & before the second one) display Squidward's room having its roof torn off, revealing a bright orange sunrise.
    • While Squidward's shotgun appears to be quite powerful (just by the sound it makes in Mist), it's VERY unlikely that it would have the ability to rip part of a roof off. Although it is a cartoon world, where the logic is not the same.
    • Knowing that Humiliation takes place during midnight, this could possibly be a reference to the name of the mod, "Mistful Crimson Morning".
  • In the third part of Doomsday, the roof is still blown off, but the entire screen is colored with different shades of red and maroon, referencing the "Red Mist".
    • However, as soon as Squidward shoots himself, everything goes back to normal. Including his roof. As if it never happened or if it was just a mirage.
      • This could potentially be implying that it was all a mirage caused by Squidward's decay into madness.
  • It was originally belived that Doomsday was going to be Squidward's first song instead of Humiliation, considering that the mod's very first teaser showcased an older version of Doomsday,[8] but it has been deconfirmed. It was only released because LtSazo wanted to get a teaser for the mod at fast as possible.[9]
  • Squidward was originally going to have a 3.5th phase during Doomsday, but was scrapped due to it not making sense in comparison to the rest of the main week.[10] Image can be found below in the "Scrapped" section.
  • Squidward's scream after the second flashback is taken directly from "Bubblestand" in which Squidward tries to replicate SpongeBob's bubble blowing technique, but actually succeeds, albeit with some mistakes.[11]
  • Squidward's shotgun in his Upcoming Doomsday Idle has been changed to a tactical shotgun, something you see in games like Fortnite, Warzone and many other games, while his current design and his upcoming render in the freeplay section has him wield a double pump shotgun.

General

  • Although Squidward likes playing the clarinet, he's still garbage at it.[12]
  • Squidward bought his shotgun the day before his concert just in case it failed, as he was already planning his suicide prior to his failure.[13]
  • If Squidward's shotgun had failed to kill him, he'd simply jump off his house.[14]

Assets

  • Squidward's chromatic actually originates from another mod called Squidward Night Funkin, and was stolen by the previous owner after a leak of it appeared. (It also happened to be edited to have more low notes)
    • Once this was figured out, the SNF team would be credited in the Hotfix and on the GameBanana page.
  • His new icons are eerily close to Wednesday's Infidelity Suicide Mouse's icons.
    • It's ironic because NuggetNightmare drew the new icons and she also drew Wednesday's Infidelity icons[15]
    • What makes this even more ironic is the fact that Squidward really hates Suicidemouse.avi.[16]
    • And the fact that the mod would have a crossover with Cognitive Crisis makes this topic omega ironic!
  • His old icons are similarly progressive, like Sunday Night Suicide's Suicide Mouse's icons.

Friendship

  • Squidward is part of a friend group with Lord X and MX.[17]
    • Squidward likes to take things to a whole new level in the group, meaning that he just kills anything and anyone.[18]
    • If the group tried to 1v1 BF, Squidward would use his shotgun a lot.[19]
    • If they lived together, Squidward would be the chef of the group.[20]
    • When Squidward, MX and Lord X hang out, it's at a table on weekends talking about random shit.[21]
  • Squidward met Lord X after X had teleported into Squidward's room after he had shot himself and just asked if it was his "first time?"[22]
  • Squidward is friends with MX because of their shared interest in killing people, and also because Squidward likes being around someone who understands his frustrations[23]

Canon Squidward is a parody of the Red Mist creepypasta seen in a now-deleted scene from the season 12 SpongeBob episode "SpongeBob in Randomland", in which SpongeBob and Squidward are sent to a dimension known as Randomland in order to deliver a Krabby Patty. He is the opponent of the freeplay song Sanguilacrimae.

Appearance[]

Canon Squidward's entire body resembles a giant Squidward face, but with large circular eyes with black pupils and red irises that are surrounded by some kind of dark, dripping substance. Unlike the original Squidward, he has no forehead wrinkles. His poses deform his face into more grotesque designs.

Trivia[]

  • Canon Squidwardā€™s appearance in SpongeBob in Randomland had to be censored in the UK and America, it was replaced with a scene consisting of Baby Squidward pooping himself. This was due to a Broadcast Standards and Practices issue. The scene is unaltered in most other countries.
    • However, the original version of the scene remains on the Nick app version of the episode.
    • In Greece, The Arab League, Turkey, Romania, Poland and Malaysia, the Baby Squidward scene was applied, but the audio was taken from Canon Squidward's appearance.
  • Vincent Waller, member of the original SpongeBob team, has stated that the plot of the original Red Mist creepypasta is not canonical to Canon Squidward as a character in the official series.[35]
    • Strangely, Canon Squidward's poses seem to depict emotions of distress and sadness.
  • There is a music track known as "Red Mist Cue", that appears briefly during Canon Squidward's original episode. Sanguilacrimae contains a leitmotif of this track.

The Tortured One is the main antagonist of The Bikini Bottom Horror, a horror webcomic series in which Patrick betrays and devours almost everyone in Bikini Bottom - including SpongeBob - as an act of revenge after years of his body being used to create Krabby Patties. He is the opponent in Tortured.

  • While some may not be familiar with The Bikini Bottom Horror at first, there's a chance they'll remember the very first page of the comic, which has become sort of an obscure meme around the internet for a while.
  • The song Tortured is inspired by Chapter 10 - Page 3 of The Bikini Bottom Horror, which displays The Tortured One's true form stands off against Squidward.
  • The Tortured One is capable of creating hallucinations of his victimsā€™ loved ones to lure them into their death. This is later revealed to be due to his psychedelic stomach.
  • The Tortured One's true form is large enough to eat a human being.

Served Plankton is a version of Plankton that appears in the lost episode creepypasta Plankton Got Served, while his physical appearance in the mod is actually inspired by a deviantart drawing known as Plenkton, created by the mysterious Moopintot. He is the opponent of the freeplay song Served.

Appearance[]

Served Plankton's appearance depicts him as having the same silhouette as Plankton, with a teal body, small triangular limbs, and two long antennae with lines going horizontally through each one. However, one notable difference is his extremely realistic face, with two closed eyes and lips, all being the same teal color as his skin.

  • Served Plankton's screaming originates from The official SpongeBob episode "Plankton's Army", specifically, this scene.[38]
  • Served Plankton's old sprites and icons were created by the creator of Vs. Spong, BMV277. He's also the one who requested the character to appear in the mod.
  • The scrapped Served Plankton icons were scrapped due to them being too detailed.[39]
  • Moopintot, the creator of the "Plenkton" image, is also the creator of the SpongeBob's Wallet Meme Image.[40]
  • Moopintot's artwork displays Plankton having two eyes, while his original appearance in SpongeBob Squarepants shows him with a single eye.

Meatcanyon SpongeBob[]

Meatcanyon SpongeBob is a disturbing iteration of SpongeBob from Secret Formula, an animation created by YouTuber Meatcanyon. In the video, it is revealed that the secret ingredient for the irresistible Krabby Patty is SpongeBob himself. He is the opponent of the freeplay song Satisfaction.

Appearance[]

Meatcanyon SpongeBob is a grotesque, horrific version of his original counterpart. His eyes are much smaller, with the flesh around his left eyelid being stretched open. His nose and teeth are both incredibly long and thin, with the end of his nose bending up and down. His upper body is unevenly shaped, and the misshapen pores in his body pulsate and close like orifices. The least deformed parts of his body are his thicker legs and his bony arms, though the latter situate within large holes on either side of his body. He's also wearing his Krusty Krab hat, albeit completely normal and not grotesque in any way. In the original animation, the left side of his upper body is gruesomely fused onto the grill, and his eyelashes are larger and curl around wildly. Both of these details are not present in the mod, though the left side of his body is still somewhat stretched out.

Trivia[]

  • For each of his poses, one of the pores on the corners of his face deform into the shape of the arrow pushed for the respective pose.
    • His left pose shows his left arm stretched disproportionately, along with the soles of his shoes separating from his shoes like a goop.
    • His down pose shows his left hand twisted to the right.
    • His up pose shows his legs separating from his waist and his eyes jumping out of their sockets.
    • His right pose shows his eyes being stretched, revealing that his eyelashes are actually connected to his eyes instead of his eyelids.
  • While laying down, his right pose reveals a human mouth with teeth and lower gums coming out of SpongeBob's skin. It's tongue is a lengthy spatula that has a piece of SpongeBob at it's head tip.
  • In the mod, His spatula is bent and twisted, but the original animation shows the spatula completely normal.

Appearance[]

Bootleg SpongeBob depicts SpongeBob's normal appearance, with the exception of large, hyper realistic, bloodshot eyes and the complete lack of a mouth. His skin contains a slightly more greenish and dark shade of yellow. The TV's screen envelops his body with a faint TV static overlay The Television he resides in resembles a black Trinitron Box TV with the Viacom logo flashing at the bottom. His hands peek out of the screen holding the TV.

Upon becoming annoyed, his eyes gain an angered expression, the brightness of the TV increases slightly and the Viacom logo stops flashing, instead staying still.

  • The reason why he becomes annoyed during Dumped is because he's trying to be edgy and Boyfriend isn't taking him seriously.[50]

Robot Chicken Mr. Krabs is a version of Mr. Krabs that originates from the 7th Episode of the 5th Season of the American stop motion animated sketch comedy television series Robot Chicken, known as "Major League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", specifically, in the 9th segment of the episode, which is known as "Krabby Patties". He is the opponent of the freeplay song Cannibalism.

RC Mr. Krabs' appearance is nearly identical to the original Mr. Krabs, except that he appears as a 3d render with a crudely plastered mouth, as do most other Robot Chicken characters.

Trivia[]

  • The original "Krabby Patties" segment of "Major League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" is heavily inspired by a SpongeBob fan theory that Krabby Patties are made out of crab.
    • However, this theory has been debunked long ago, as Vincent Waller himself has confirmed on twitter that Krabby Patties have no meat in them whatsoever.[67]
  • Robot Chicken Mr. Krabs's favorite song in Vs. OURPLE GUY is Golden.

Dehydrated Spongebob resembles regular Spongebob, albeit drier and worn out, with his eyeballs nearly popping out of his face and his skin drying up. His mouth is stretched to an inhuman shape. Due to having his model taken from a 3d game, he is also 3d-rendered.

Joe Mama Squidward resembles Squidward in appearance but he wears a shiny black coat, a white t-shirt, and has ink splattered below him in a way that makes it look like he is rising out of the ink. Some ink can also be seen in his coat.

  • Plagerize did NOT get reworked to Dehydrated, despite popular belief.
  • Plagerize is an incorrect spelling of the word "Plagiarize". It is unknown if this is intentional or not.
    • It is most likely an incorrect spelling as CalciumLmao's upload of the song calls it the correct spelling. Also, the Unfinished Version upload calls it "Plagarize".
  • The reason as to why Coconut Fred's voice sounds somewhat muffled in the mod is due to the show's audio and visual quality being terrible.[74]
    • However, these vocals will be changed in the coming update.
  • Coconut Fred is commonly associated by being a rip-off of Spongebob Squarepants, which is probably why he got into the mod, and also why his song is named "Plagiarize".

Boyfriend is the main protagonist of Friday Night Funkin' as well as of Mistful Crimson Morning. For the significant part of the mod, Boyfriend is set to be the playable character during which he faces the various enemies from Spongebob horror media.

Appearance[]

Boyfriend retains his original appearance in every song. In the chase in Dead Hope, he sweats a little (from fear or tiredness) and his hair blows in the wind. In Dumped, specifically at the end of the song, Boyfriend uses a dark blue dark metal guitar, doing a solo of almost 15 seconds.

He has many upcoming looks such as in Served, Plagerize, and a pixel version of Dead Hope. In Served, he wears a suit of Pearl with his face appearing through the suit's mouth. In the pixel version of Dead Hope, he is pixelated in low bit size, and in Plagerize, he is a realistic blueberry with a face, wearing a cap, purple shorts and red crocs.
