Markus

― Markus, Welcome

Markus (also known as Mouse) is an experiment designed to be like Mickey Mouse. While he was the most successful out of all them, he still has problems and is very aggressive. After Boyfriend and Girlfriend get transported into his clubhouse, he seems friendly and inviting, but little do they know the bigger picture of what happened to him...

Appearance

Markus retains his original look, even with all his redesigns, as the only things that change are the art style. He takes the form of Mickey Mouse, meaning he is a black anthropomorphic mouse, with black eyes as well, wearing red pants with two white buttons, white gloves, and yellow boots. In some designs, his eyes may blink or be completely red, while in some, he may change to black sclera, or otherwise have red pupils as seen in his beta.

Trivia

  • In his 2.0 Repentance idle, Markus has a microphone but in his poses, he loses it.
  • Markus is shown to be an imperfect version of Mickey Mouse, as unlike the real deal, he is prone to easily go into bouts of anger, similarly to Donald Duck.
  • In the older version of Vs. Mouse, his idle has a normal face, but his poses are seen with a different demonic face.
  • Despite being redesigned, the beta version of Markus appears in the 2.0 Freeplay menu.
  • Markus is Pansexual
  • The Clubhouse seen in the background of Disk 1 actually belongs to Marko, but was stolen by Markus.
  • Markus is not only a bitch, but a bitch-ass motherfucker
    • This is partly because he pissed on Marko's wife.
    • Despite some team members saying that this was a joke, it is actually canon.

Marko

Marko AKA Crisis is the final opponent of Disk-1 and saves Boyfriend and Girlfriend from Markus.

Appearance

Marko appears similar to Mickey Mouse as a black mouse with 2 ears, red pants with white buttons, and yellow shoes. However he is very tall and a serious face and a long tail. He does body horror in his poses as well.

Trivia

  • Marko is a separate character from the rest of the cast.
    • Originally, he was the reborn version of Beta Mouse. However, despite having been the reborn version of Beta Mouse, he and Marko are not the same entity.
  • He killed Markus with his bare hands.
  • The clubhouse seen in Disk 1 actually belongs to Marko, but was stolen by Markus.
  • Marko was not in the best mood when rapping against Boyfriend during Disk 1, which explains the presence of Toodles notes during Crazy.
  • After the events of Crazy, Marko snaps and starts chasing Boyfriend and Girlfriend, leading to the events of Disk 2. (2.5 v2 only)
  • Originally, Marko was planned to be a friendly character, but this was eventually retconned.
  • Marko could take Labrat in a fight.

Experiment

Experiment, more commonly referred to as Labrat, is one of the many scrapped versions of Mouse. It guards the entrance to the Clubhouse and attacks Boyfriend once he escapes Mouse.

Appearance

Experiment appears to look like Mickey Mouse just like Markus, he has red shorts and white buttons on them, yellow shoes, and black fur. But for his appearance, his eyes are popped out of his eye sockets, one of his are ears ripped, has a faded white stomach, and he is very skinny and tall.

Trivia

  • While he originally was the same character as Markus, he became his own character in the alpha version.
    • You can also tell based on the alt title screen, as there are many scrapped versions of Markus.
  • While Experiment is going to have a redesign, people thought that his scrapped redesign was going to be in the mod due to a post that people misunderstood due to to Ulkarizer's poor English skills. His new redesign was later shown, disproving the rumors.
  • When shown a piece of art showing Marko walking Labrat on a leash and asked if it was canon, Jara said that it was canon. However, due to Jara now working on The Magical World of DisneyFunk, it is unknown if this is still canon.
  • Mendax means "liar" in Latin.
  • In the leaked 2.6 build, due to no code being present to have the assets appear, Mendax goes unused.
  • Mendax's appearance in 2.6 being similar to the 2.6 Markus sprites was intentional, as the sprite artist, JukoDuko, was aiming for something "familiar, but slightly off."

Mortimer

Appearance

Mortimer's look is primarily based off of Mickey Mouse's original look, having bare hands instead of wearing white gloves, but wears shoes instead of not wearing any footwear. For the first part of Misery, he's shown smiling and carrying a basket of groceries.

For the second part of Misery, he suddenly has a noose around his neck and a syringe jabbed in his right arm, and he's now panicking.

During Suicide, he has a grin that is curved upwards, while still having the groceries, the noose as well as the syringe in his hand. His pupils are also seen melting.

During Happy Ride, his eyeballs have popped out of their sockets, and dangling in front of his face by their optic nerves. His grin has also gotten a little wider.

In the first half of Insanity Psychosis, Mortimer is sitting on his knees in a slightly slumped position with his mouth wide open and stretched wide. His eyes have fallen out of their sockets and are now bouncing in the palms of his hands, while black liquid (most likely blood) leaks out of the sockets. Some of his teeth appear to be missing when compared to his appearance in Happy Ride, and he also no longer has his grocery basket he head in the prior three songs. During the second half of the song, he gets back up, his eyes are back in his sockets and he's wearing gloves, but now his mouth is melting and open wide in an unnerving smile, and he's walking with a syringe in his left hand.

Trivia

  • GonDaLoser has stated that Mortimer and Blot Mouse from Vs. Mouse Ultimate are "kinda" the same character.
  • Due to Redemption being scrapped, Mortimer's 2.6 design is the only design which ever had sprites for it.
  • Mortimer has the third most amount of forms of any character in a mod, with 6 total. With the second most being Wednesday's Infidelity's Mickey with 7 forms and Bluet from Friday Night Funkin' Pixels, who has 8 forms.
  • He is addicted to Bloons.
  • Mortimer can make everything around him black and white in the style of old cartoons, just like Mortimer from Five Nights At Treasure Island.
    • This is why Boyfriend's clothes in Disk 3 are different.
  • Mr.Slicker was the one responsible for throwing the syringe at Mortimer.
    • Earlier, it was said that he was held at gunpoint by the syringe while it was injecting itself into him during Misery, which is why he gets nervous during Misery's second half. This was later specified to be a joke.
  • The head for Mortimer's old design was traced.
  • Scott has stated that Mortimer is an "Insane Psycho" during Insanity Psychosis
  • Some aspects of Scott's redesign were traced, such as the heads for the Insanity Psychosis (2) idle and the laugh animations.
    • Ironically, both previously mentioned heads were traced from Jara/Ulka's art.
  • The sprites for Mortimer's piano animations are so large that each animation needed to have its own sprite sheet.
  • Mortimer's piano was originally from Sadness Day.
  • His vocals are nearly identical to the ones meant for Julian, so it's possible that they were repurposed for him after Julian was scrapped.

Boyfriend

Boyfriend is the main protagonist of Friday Night Funkin and the Vs. Mouse mod.

Appearance

Disk 3

Boyfriend has a new look for Disk 3. His body is colored gray and has old-styled eyes. He wears a short sleeved shirt with two black buttons, his eyebrows are very thin compared to the original, and he wears a top hat and holds a vintage microphone.

Disk 1 (Concept)

Boyfriend seems that he is not comfortable with the clothes he wears. It's like Mouse forcing him to wear those clothes. He wears the same pants and the same boots from Week 5 of the vanilla Friday Night Funkin'. His hat is black and has two circles on top of the, akin to Mickey's ears. He wears a long red sleeved shirt with a white part at the end of the sleeve with the Mickey Mouse Logo in the center.

Trivia

  • The assets for the standing Disk 3 BF in 2.5 v2 were originally fan-made
  • The original Disk 3 running sprites were lost after Adobe Animate crashed on Frog_Simp, the artist for BF's Disk 3 design for the 2.6 update. The idle animation, previously posted on the development server, is the only file left of it.

Marky

It is a crudely drawn Mickey Mouse, the only difference with the other designs is that it has a crooked right hand, now having two right hands

  • Marky's appearance in Revenge-Old was originally a fan-made creation from Vs. Mouse Old (it was for a cover of The End from Vs. Aflac where Marky would throw Goofy heads at Markus), but became official due to how well it was made, as it could've been confused as something official.
  • Marky is a nerd for old 2010 memes.
  • Contrary to popular belief, Juko's Marky sprites were NOT for a fun-sized Marky.
    • Juko himself is very tired of having to explain this to people.
  • Contrary to popular belief, at no point in the mod's development was Marky going to sing Scrap.

Beta Mouse

Beta Mouse, also known as Michael, is the original Beta Mouse, and is the opponent for Crisis-Old, The Mouse, and Welcome Back.

Appearance

Beta Mouse is a black/brown mouse with 2 large ears, maroon pants with white buttons, dim yellow shoes and an expression of distrust on his face. His face contorts into demonic expressions in his poses.

  • He is the original Beta Mouse
  • Despite Marko being the reborn version of Beta Mouse, Scott has confirmed that they are still two separate characters.
  • The version of Beta Mouse in Welcome Back is an older and more mature version than his appearance in Classic Disk 1.
  • For whatever reason, his icons in Classic Mode are Markus' Repentance icons.

The Toons

Appearance

The Toons are an amalgamation or group of characters (mainly Mickey Mouses) from Treasure Island. These characters being The Face, Mortimer, Photo Negative Mickey (PN Mickey for short), Cactus Kid, The Rat and MickMick. Photo Negative Mickey appears as a negative-scale Mickey Mouse, with a tad bit of melting and distortion. The Face and MickMick are much more heavily melted, and both have human eyes in their eye sockets. The defining difference between the two is that The Face has no legs, while MickMick does. Cactus Kid is similar in color scheme to Bendy from his titular game, and has no melting. The Rat is a Mickey Mouse toon, except missing its ears, eyes, and legs. It also has a buildup of dirt on its face.

Trivia

  • It appears that The Toons are scrapped versions of Mouse, as they are seen with the other scrapped version on the alt title screen and their song is called "Scrap".
  • The reason why there is a bed present in every design for The Toons is due to Ulka having a nightmare where they were in bed surrounded by The Toons.
  • The reason why Photo Negative Mickey was the only Toon that sang during Sky Fallen is because they knew how bad Scrap sounded with all of them singing at the same time.

Costume

Costume is one of the secret opponents hidden in the Debug Mode from VS. Mouse 2.0. This character originates from the creepypasta "It's Just a Costume", where a Mickey costume mascot torments a young kid by interacting with his uncle Rick.

Appearance

Costume in the original creepypasta is described as a Mickey Mouse mascot with his head facing on the opposite direction of the costume, and after releasing an ear-deafening sound, it's now described having black eyes with small white pupils and huge, rat-like front teeth surrounded by what looked like hundreds of bloody human teeth filling the gums of Mickey's mouth, also the skin of the mascot was grey, and the material looked aged and rotten, later, his head lifts from his body and pours a reddish, black liquid that drops over the costume.

In this mod, Costume is depicted only with his head, and it glows in white instead of being made of rotten gray material.

  • Costume is the only character to not be in any other versions of the mod, and he only appears in the full version of the mod.

Doggy Mouse is based on a parody of a picture of a puppy known as Jotchua, but with Suicide Mouse's body traced over it.

Magrolo Mouse is a secondary antagonist of the mod and is a character made by GorixGorix. Unfortunately, due to his obscurity, little to no information/lore about Magrolo exists.

  • According to Frog_Simp, Ratiphanes' dick is 5 meters long.
    • It was also said that he's adopted.
  • After the decision to remove him was made by the team, Frog_Simp gathered a team of people to make his own standalone mod: Vs. Ratiphanes.
    • However, after Frog_Simp was outed for creating and framing someone for creating an underage NSFW mod, Ratiphanes had to be scrapped and removed from the mod after Frog_Simp revoked permission for him to be in the mod, which is now titled Vs. Ancient.

  • The yellow "blood" that spills out of his head when he tears his head off is actually vomit.
  • He should not be confused with the similarly named Photo-Negative Mickey from the Five Nights at Treasure Island series of games, as the one originating from FNaTI closely resembles Mickey Mouse and is a toon, as opposed to Mascot Photo-Negative Mickey, who originates from Abandoned by Disney and is a corruptus using a photo negative version of a Mickey Mouse costume.

Suicide Mouse's appearances in Insanity Funny resemble his 2.0 designs for Misery's 1st half, 2nd half, and Suicide respectively.

Appearance (2.0)

Suicide Mouse is a Mickey Mouse look-a-like, except being monochromatic. He has an emotionless expression on his face during the first half of Misery.

In the 2nd half in Misery, he has a grin with white psychotic eyes. He twitches occasionally, and his eyebrows are raised higher.

During Suicide, his grin is noticeably larger and his eyes have become black with white pupils. His eyes are also wider than before, on top of being basically separated from each other. They constantly shuffle around their sockets when Suicide Mouse sings.

In Insanity Psychosis, he is seen in a crawling position with his eyes melting and up to his upper jaw, drooping. During the second half of the song, he is seen with a melted mouth with a smile. His eyes are even wider than before, and he is slouching. His head begins to twitch again, and in all of his poses, he stares directly at BF, even when twisting his body. One of his pant legs is rolled up, and he also holds the syringe full of liquid polonium used to kill himself, during the end of suicidemouse.avi.

His old design is the current design, but with him walking slowly instead.

  • Suicide Mouse was previously the Story Mode opponent for Disk 3, but was removed when he was replaced by Mortimer. He was slated to return in 2.6 for the song Insanity Funny, but was going to be removed again prior to the 2.6 build being leaked.
  • Suicide Mouse has 7 forms in 2.5 v2, which, when it comes to the most amount of forms a character has in a mod, ties second place with Wednesday's Infidelity's Mickey, with Bluet from Friday Night Funkin' Pixels having the most with 8 forms.
  • Suicide Mouse is a supernatural entity.
  • The Randy Hilson Suicide Mouse design was scrapped because the team thought the people would compare this design to SNS's alt mouse or Craziness Injection's mickey.
  • Suicide Mouse was going to be in the Vs Mouse test, but due to technical problems, it was removed. (Although, its sprites and song were hidden in the files.)
  • The sprites in the "restored" tab were made by Scott, who had "restored" the sprites by basing them on the ones from the 3.0 Alpha.
  • For 2.5 v2, updated heads made for Suicide Mouse during the first half of Insanity Psychosis would have him "singing out of his eyes," but these were scrapped in favor of the original heads, which had him sing normally.
  • In the original 2.5 build, for whatever reason, his 3.0 Alpha design in Insanity Psychosis was used for Suicide.
  • Suicide Mouse's 3.0 Alpha sprites for Happy Ride and the first half of Insanity Psychosis were never finished.

Mickey Mouse is the original Mickey created by Disney, and was an upcoming character to the mod as the opponent of the song Goodbye and was meant to be the playable character for Bootleg Takeover.

Mickey appears as an anthropomorphic mouse, and wears red shorts with yellow buttons, white gloves, and yellow shoes.
In the song Goodbye, he is seen from a first-person perspective and has a sad smile on his face.
In the song Bootleg Takeover, he is in a pixel art style and appears perturbed, with his hand on his waist.

  • Mickey having yellow buttons was chosen as a means of distinguishing him from Markus.

Mick was supposed to be Disney's emergency character if they lost the rights to Oswald in their fight against Universal. However, since Disney won, Mick was not needed. In a fit of frustration, Mick wants revenge for the abuse and abandonment that he had to go through, and will achieve it by any means necessary.

Mick is the main antagonist in his own mod, Vs. Mick, who takes the appearance of Mickey Mouse, but designed to be like the Mickey Mouse drawings from the 1930s.

  • Mick despises the Suicide Mouses because he thinks they are too weak to face their problems, unlike him.
    • Despite this, he does share some traits with them, such as starting out with a frown before slowly grinning in a creepy manner, and eventually being revealed to be carrying a knife, like how many Suicide Mouses carry syringes.
  • He hates/despises Markus.
  • Him and Old Mick are separated characters.
  • He's not a psychopathical murderer, so he doesn't kill for fun. He does that if he finds it necessary.
  • He has a collection of knifes.

Rumored Mouse

Rumored Mouse, also known as Original Suicide Mouse, is the version of Suicide Mouse from the original story, and would have been the opponent of Disk 4 before that was scrapped all together.

  • The sprites for his scrapped remaster were planned to be included in Mickey Mania under the name "Rumored Mouse" prior to its cancellation.
  • Rumored Mouse was slated to return in the next update for the mod, but was again scrapped after Scott was fired from the Rookies Team.
    • According to Scott, he was to return along with Disk 4, however, SansPZSG stated that he was to be a Minigame character. It is still unclear whether Rumored Mouse was to return in Disk 4 or as a Minigame character.

GameToons Mouse, also known as GameToons Suicide Mouse, is a version of Suicide Mouse that appears in various GameToons videos, primarily ones focusing on Sunday Night Suicide and Friday Night Trepidation.

GT Suicide Mouse appears as a giant black blob with eyes alongside it, with Mickey's gloves and a head with a twisted grin. Much like the original Creepypasta, GT Suicide Mouse appears in black and white.

  • GT Mouse was going to appear in this mod as an extra character, but due to ulka controversies, he was moved to Sunday Night Suicide.
