Friday Night Funkin': Entity was a full week, overhaul mod directed by SugarRatio. It is a continuation of Friday Night Funkin' V.S. A.G.O.T.I. adding new characters, one song at most for each of them, and an overhaul menu system. There is a prequel named Entity Origins: BREAKOUT.

Plot

As this mod is only a demo and has no dialogue or cutscenes, no plot is apparent during gameplay. However, context clues are given via the settings the characters are located in.

In Shotgun-Shell, Boyfriend and Girlfriend encounter Aldryx in a grocery store where they begin to sing together.

In Parasite, the plot appears to be the same as the first rendition of VS. A.G.O.T.I., where Boyfriend, Girlfriend, and A.G.O.T.I. are all trapped in the void.

In Godrays, Boyfriend and Girlfriend encounter Solazar, Aldryx, and A.G.O.T.I. out in the city, where Solazar challenges Boyfriend to sing, and Aldryx and A.G.O.T.I. both stand idly on and beside the car that Girlfriend is sitting on.

In Promenade, Boyfriend encounters Nikusa alone in what appears to be a large church or castle hall with stained glass windows. Girlfriend is nowhere to be seen.

Characters

Aldryx

Aldryx Andromeda, or simply Aldryx, is A.G.O.T.I.'s older brother. He is the first opponent of Friday Night Funkin': Entity with his song being Shotgun-Shell. He can also be seen standing next to a limousine with A.G.O.T.I. during Solazar's song, Godrays.

Appearance

Aldryx wears a short dark gray jacket with long sleeves, black and red bits on it and a light grey collar. For some reason depending on the lighting the jacket appears to have a slight green tint to it. He seems to be wearing a black pair of fingerless gloves with a metal stripe. Under the jacket, he wears a light tan tanktop. His pants are beige, and he wears a pair of sneakers.

His whole body is red, and he has hair-like tendrils and white eyes just like A.G.O.T.I., with the exception that his tendrils are shorter than his brother's, and he has an extra tendril on his forehead. In his idle, he shows a confident grin with sharp teeth, and he holds a red microphone in his left hand, while his right hand is on his back.

Trivia

  • Originally, Aldryx was supposed to be a replacement of A.G.O.T.I. after controversy spilled over via TheInnuendo. Thankfully, the problems were resolved and Aldryx became his own separate character and A.G.O.T.I.'s older brother.
  • Aldryx is Aromantic.[5]
  • Aldryx is transgender.[6] Prior to being confirmed in late 2021, hints were posted in the form of drawings of Aldryx as a child, where he was depicted with eyelashes and more feminine clothing (such as skirts and dresses). These include Aldryx and A.G.O.T.I. first being depicted as brothers,[7] and a drawing of a younger Aldryx activating Demon Install to protect his brother.[8]
  • Aldryx appears to have mastectomy-like scars on his chest.[9] When questioned about this choice, as Aldryx's species does not need top surgery, Sugarratio responded with the information that Aldryx chose to have them because he saw them on other people, and thought they looked cool.[10]
  • Aldryx has fire manipulation abilities, but the color transfers into black/void flames, because this ability is inherited from Solazar, Star Energy.[11]
  • Aldryx's tongue is yellow.
  • Aldryx can spit oil from his stomach.[12]
  • Humorously, Aldryx's face is red, while his health icon is black, while it is vice-versa for his brother.
    • As a result of this, if Aldryx and A.G.O.T.I had Minus forms, their faces would swap colors with each other.
  • Nikusa and Aldryx's relationship isn't confirmed yet.[13]
  • In the background of Shotgun Shell, several references to characters and games can be seen. Chips labeled "Susitos" resemble an Among Us crewmate, another crewmate can be seen on the "SNAX" area sign to the right. Two dusty plushies resemble Ash. Cereal boxes depicting TheInnuendo, Netba, and Tabi appear on the shelves. To the right, drawings depicting SugarRatio's persona Leito and Leito's face on an ice cream bar/popsicle can be seen.
  • Aldryx was born from a laser disc Solazar found in a garage. Like A.G.O.T.I., he can also record memories dating back to the day of his birth.[14]
    • Because of this, he has access to Dragon Install, an ability from the Guilty Gear series.[citation needed]
  • Aldryx has lost the ability to shed tears since he removed the ducts from his eyes for unknown reasons.[15]
  • Unlike his brother, Aldryx does not have a tail.

A.G.O.T.I., also known as Agoti, is a Digidevil who appears in the Friday Night Funkin': Entity demo. He is owned by SugarRatio. His mod was originally called VS A.G.O.T.I., but this has since been changed. In Friday Night Funkin': Entity, he is the second opponent of the mod with his song being Parasite. He can also be seen standing on a limousine's front with Aldryx during Godrays.

Appearance

A.G.O.T.I. wears a red long-sleeved hoodie that has white lines on the sleeves and pockets, a black hood and black drawstrings, black fingerless gloves, black pants with white chains that connect to his waist, and black and red shoes with white soles. His head is black, with long tendril-like hair that appears to be able to wriggle independently and even manipulate objects. He also has white pupilless eyes, shark-like sharp teeth, and a long pointed tongue. Underneath his clothing, his pale hands and neck fade into a black chest, where strips of VHS tapes are ingrained into his skin. He also has a VHS for a heart which apparently contains a recording of his entire life. Although he appears human-like in appearance, his actual species is like his brother, a Digidevil.

Personality

Although A.G.O.T.I tries to not be mean to people he just met (as shown in the first cutscene, where he is shown to be welcoming towards Boyfriend and Girlfriend, and in the second cutscene where he explains the nature of the void and it's purpose), he usually acts like a jerk and is a hothead who throws fists for not getting what he wants. This is either due to his naturally abrasive personality or due to his time being spent in the void. Although he is very prone to losing his temper, he does, to some extent, have some compassion for Solazar, his father and manager, as shown in his ending cutscene.

History

Birth

A.G.O.T.I. was born from a box of burning VHS tapes[20] with his heart being a VHS tape.[21] Solazar, soon to be titled his adoptive father, found A.G.O.T.I. in said box and took him home, choosing to raise him. He was also born with no vocal cords. The reason why A.G.O.T.I. sounds like a Sega Genesis is because as a baby, he mistook the console as food and ate it. The sound chips are meshed within his throat, giving him artificial vocal cords, hence his artificial sounding voice while speaking or singing.

Before Being in the Void

A.G.O.T.I. was a singer, but got sent to the void by Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest because they thought he was outshining them and other artists as well.

In the Void

A.G.O.T.I. was stuck in the void for a year until Boyfriend and Girlfriend were sent there by either Daddy Dearest or Mommy Mearest. He then rap battles with Boyfriend, where he loses the first and second rounds, gets angry, and loses once again during the third round.

Out from the Void
One week later, A.G.O.T.I., Boyfriend and Girlfriend have escaped from the void and continued on with their normal lives. A.G.O.T.I. has reunited with his manager, Solazar (often called Sol by A.G.O.T.I.), and are now discussing their plans for the future. After knowing that A.G.O.T.I. met Girlfriend in the void, Solazar tells him that they must find her due to her presence. Solazar claims that her presence seems to be causing a certain interference, intentionally or externally, and claims her to be extremely dangerous. They called the day off and went to a 5-starred hotel that Solazar booked to rest.

Early Life

Similar to his vanilla counterpart A.G.O.T.I was brothers with Aldyrx, however both of them were abused by the humans they meant throughout their life. Solazar seeing this decide to adopt the two and promise them they wouldn't be hurt again. Eventually A.G.O.T.I, his brother, his adoptive father, and Nikusa decide to vow that they would find a way to destroy Earth together. The fours are also hunted down by T.A.N.K however Nikusa keeps them safe and undetected.

Battle at the Loading Dock
A.G.O.T.I and Aldyrx were carrying out the plan of destroying the Earth. A.G.O.T.I was commanding scientists to do what they said, however Boyfriend along with Girlfriend came to stop there plan. Boyfriend tell them to stop however A.G.O.T.I and Aldyrx decide not too. Doing the only thing he can, Boyfriend challenges A.G.O.T.I to a rap battle which he accepts. During it, A.G.O.T.I gets mad and yells "release the mech". Aldyrx now piloting the mech decide to challenge a rap battle against Boyfriend while A.G.O.T.I fights against T.A.N.K agents who have arrived at the scene. Eventually, A.G.O.T.I accidentally breaks the mech that Aldyrx and the two along with Nikusa and Solazar are arrested however they are shortly broken out by Niksua who vows for them be back again.

Trivia

  • The animator of the mod, SugarRatio, also animates stick figure fighting animations and is a follower of the Hyun's Dojo community.
    • He is also responsible for the remasters of Zardy and Ruv.
  • In the menu theme for the menu, a small sample of the DK Rap can be heard.
    • Samples of Fresh can also be heard near the end.
  • A.G.O.T.I. is a certified Minecraft gamer.[23]
  • A.G.O.T.I.'s first song, Screenplay, appears to reference the first part of Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans. However, this was completely on accident, and will be changed in the remastered version.[24][25]
    • The lesser-known references in his songs is Suck it up ft. Miku which might not only be a reference to the song or maybe the mod itself, it's usually found at the start of Screenplay.
    • The other lesser-known reference in his songs is the start of the original Friday Night Funkin' song Ugh, it can be found in the middle of Parasite.
  • VS. A.G.O.T.I. uses the Friday Night Funkin': Mic'd Up engine, which means there are charts for Noob, Expert and Insane difficulties, Lo-Fi and Hi-Fi versions of the songs, "power-ups" that change the chartings from the songs and much more. However, the difficulties are no longer available.
  • A.G.O.T.I. would love to befriend Whitty, but he would be confused.
  • The two cutscenes are references to two popular anime series. The first being a reference to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure while the second is a reference to Fullmetal Alchemist.[26]
  • While the narrative of the mod is similar to Whitty's full week along with other weeks that follow this structure, SugarRatio is aware and claims that it was not his choice.[27]
  • Furthermore, SugarRatio has confirmed that any upcoming mods that he'll make in the future, such as the VS Solazar mod, would be original and unique, using new and innovative ideas that, up until now, have never been used before in a mod. For example, the VS Solazar mod will have Solazar be very calm and professional, and instead of gradually losing his temper like Whitty, he'll instead not only stay serene and peaceful, but he'll also adopt a more informal, casual appearance, which will be reflected in him tying his "hair" into a ponytail and taking off his jacket, as well as rolling up the sleeves of his shirt.
  • A.G.O.T.I has a black face, and red icons, in contrast to his brother, who is the opposite.
  • It has been confirmed by SugarRatio that A.G.O.T.I. does not hate people who simp for him (unless they act annoying), as he is an artist, and is assumed to have a rather large fanbase.[28]
  • A.G.O.T.I. would hate Selever due to his pre-teen spaz behaviour.[29]
  • A.G.O.T.I.'s voice was the "2019 Bass 01" preset in The Genny VST in VS. A.G.O.T.I. This was replaced in the Entity update, and now he has a new chromatic scale in Parasite.
  • Vs. A.G.O.T.I Mod is currently the 20th most downloaded mod with over 250k downloads (as of May 31, 2021).
  • A.G.O.T.I. is one of the antagonists to hit his notes in the same way as Boyfriend without the player actually controlling him. (Normally the antagonist's notes just disappear once they hit, but with A.G.O.T.I. they glow just like Boyfriend's.).
  • Unlike Tabi, who has an explanation behind him having the same glowing note power as Boyfriend (namely that, due to him being a former boyfriend of Girlfriend, he presumably was given this ability to help protect Girlfriend from any opponents or rivals that either want to date Girlfriend or have a grudge against Daddy Dearest), A.G.O.T.I.'s reason is simply because BrightFyre added it into the mod, and most likely does not have any lore behind it.[30] However, SugarRatio provided the possible idea of Solazar giving A.G.O.T.I. a blessing to protect himself when he was young, leading to his ability to manipulate his surroundings.[31]
  • During the dialogue from the third round, A.G.O.T.I. vented that he was stuck in the void for years even though it was recently confirmed that he only spent one year trapped in the void. The most likely explanation for this mistake is that isolation has made him lose track of time.
  • A.G.O.T.I. cries VHS films instead of actual tears.[32]
  • The following lore pieces were posted after his previous owner received 5,000 followers on Twitter:[33]
    • A.G.O.T.I. can do push-ups with his tongue alone.
    • If he ever receives a burn, he'll be hurt twice as much as an average human.
    • He can use his tentacles as extra limbs, so legs aren't his only movement option.
  • A.G.O.T.I. appears to not do well in water.[34] His skin absorbs water, causing him to short-circuit. He cleans himself by dipping his body in cooked rice.[35]
    • Cleaning himself with a wet wipe is also optional, so long as he isn't soaked.
  • SugarRatio claims that the rage sprites for A.G.O.T.I. were the laziest ones he's done so far.[36]
  • A Father's Day comic made by Thatsky_Dragon on Twitter is confirmed to be canon by SugarRatio.[37]

  • After the change in his ownership, A.G.O.T.I.'s species was changed from "Screen Demon" to "Digidevil". [40] Digidevils are owned and maintained by Moonlit Comet, and while they are similar to Screen Demons in some ways, they are also significantly different in others.
  • A.G.O.T.I.'s new voice is sampled from a League of Legends character.[41]

Solazar is the manager/adoptive father of A.G.O.T.I. and Aldryx and he is third opponent of Friday Night Funkin': Entity with his song being Godrays.

Appearance

Solazar is a bright light blue humanoid being with a flaming head and white, pupilless eyes. He also has feet with a heels- like shape. His outfit is a pair of glasses, a dark gray suit with a white collared shirt, and a long yellow tie, and in-game, he holds a blue microphone that shines in the poses.

Biography

Solazar came from a race of beings of stars, akin to gods, called Solarisapiens. A lot of things changed after a former Warrior, Nur, changed everything of their current state of living. With a new peaceful way of life, and given freedom, Solazar has studied his history, which was particularly about fighting stick figures.[53]

Soon after, he's grown odd ideals and entered a role of being a music manager, perhaps to blend in with society. It is to be known that he is incredibly biased towards sinners or demons that don't strive for change, and hates any new stick figures with fighting prowess that becomes well known.[54]

He has massive respect towards anyone related to Nur, (Especially PlayerX), RHGs, and Dojo duelists, and no other. He might dislike some of the Mid-Fight Masses family (Sarvente, Ruv, Selever, and Rasazy), considering A.G.O.T.I. might dislike Selever too, which he sympathizes why.[55]

Trivia

  • In the trailer of Entity, Solazar was voiced by Cougar MacDowall, who is known to be the voice of Tabi in V.S EX Boyfriend and CJ in the new update of Starlight Mayhem.
  • Since the next update would add cutscenes and possibly voice acting, Solazar is the only character confirmed to have a voice actor, while the others don't have yet.
  • The song Godrays and the background in Godrays is seen in a fanmade mod.
  • The song Godrays has a reference of Persona Q OST- Laser Beam on Boyfriend's side.
  • Solazar does not sleep at all due to his species.[56][57]

Nikusa

Nikusa is the void queen who appears in Friday Night Funkin': Entity. She was created by SugarRatio. She is the final opponent of Friday Night Funkin': Entity, facing off against Boyfriend in the final song, that being Promenade.

Due to the number of sketches and positive Tweets about her from SugarRatio, Nikusa is considered to be one of his favorite characters in the mod.

Appearance

Nikusa is a busty, 10-foot tall, pure white stick figure with pink eyes that fades to orange. She wears a black crown and choker, as well as a dark grey, low-cut jumpsuit underneath a long, light grey, short-sleeved gown, both of the latter having grey trims, and topped off with a black and grey belt. She has long white hair with a pink underside, which cuts off over the sides of her head and just below her rear. She holds a pink microphone in her left hand.

  • Nikusa has no real friends[77], she feels empty and alone very often.[78]
  • Nikusa is using A.G.O.T.I. and Solazar for her own benefit[79]. They both dislike Nikusa because of this.
  • Nikusa and Aldryx's relationship is still unknown, but they would most likely be the same like A.G.O.T.I. and Solazar. [80]

Nikusa was created on May 5, 2021 and was nicknamed the "Void Queen".

Nikusa's sprite animations were animated on Adobe Animate. According to a Tweet by SugarRatio, animating Nikusa's breasts was challenging to animate by hand,[94] so he needed assistance with it.[95] Animating Nikusas's breasts was also the reason why the mod's demo development took at least 5 months for it to release.[96]

On March 2022, SugarRatio rewrote Nikusa's character after experiencing problems with her.[97] As a result, many aspects and her lore have been retconned to make sense of her character.[citation needed]

Whitmore, also known as Whitty is the main opponent of VS. Whitty mod. He was set to appear in Entity to fight someone else before being scrapped.[102] Unfinished animation suggested that he was going to battle Nikusa like Sarvente and Ruv.[103]

  • Whitty's sprites were ultimately reused in Funkin' Aside as the counterpart of himself.
  • Unlike how Nikusa fights Sarvente and Ruv aggressively, Nikusa playfully taunts Whitty in the unfinished cutscene.
  • Like Sarvente, Whitty has four fingers instead of five like in his original mod. In the Nikusa cutscene however, he has five.

Trivia (General)

  • In the background of Shotgun Shell, several references to characters and games can be seen. Chips labeled "Susitos" resemble an Among Us crewmate, another crewmate can be seen on the "SNAX" area sign to the right. Two dusty plushies resemble Ash. Cereal boxes depicting TheInnuendo, Netba, and Tabi appear on the shelves. To the right, drawings depicting SugarRatio's persona Leito and Leito's face on an ice cream bar/popsicle can be seen.
  • In the background of Parasite, the void has received a background update, with a mysterious new building vaguely resembling the Leaning Tower of Pisa floating behind the characters.
  • In Godrays, when the colors of the screen distort to the beats of the song, Boyfriend sweats nervously.
  • Both Aldryx and A.G.O.T.I. are Digidevils.
  • All four characters in Entity are confirmed to be aromantic[104], but only Solazar and Nikusa are simultaneously confirmed to be asexual[105].
  • SugarRatio owns both Solazar and Nikusa.[106]
  • Many aspects of the mod, such as the menus, are heavily inspired by the Persona/Shin Megami Tensei series.
    • Godrays also has a leitmotif to Laser Beam from Persona Q, The Shadow of Labyrinth.
  • Around the 1:00 mark of Shotgun Shell a leitmotif of "Winter Horrorland" can be heard. It's unknown if this was intentional or not.
  • Nikusa's stage was inspired by Hollow Knight's City of Tears.[107]
  • Before the mod was canceled, a Mid-Fight Masses collaboration is planned, where Sarvente and Ruv will fight Nikusa.
    • The mod was also going to feature Whitty. Whitty's sprites were later used in Funkin' Aside.[108] An unfinished animation implied that Whitty was also going to fight Nikusa after the latter enraged him. [109]
