The Hatsune Miku mod is a mod that includes a Vocaloid/Piapro Studio character known as Hatsune Miku (初音ミク). There are 4 mods, 1st is the oldest version assumed the first, the second is the more recent version, and the last two updates are for Boyfriend.

The original and newest one replaces Daddy Dearest. The original has the same map as Week 1, while the newest one has a custom stage designed for the mod. The mods are also known to be the first to have the custom campaign menu line art for the menu, which most mods did not have. The newest one may had have the new icon for the bar, but it is unknown if they will add a losing animation.

In September 2021, the mod was overhauled, bringing forth new songs (up to a total of nine) and many other changes.

Appearance

Hatsune Miku (初音ミク) is shown to have cyan (or keppel) hair with pink hair bands, black eyes, and a smile. Her outfit has black sleeves with cyan trims, a suit with no sleeves with a cyan tie. Her skirt is black with - of course - a cyan trim with her shoes the same colour while gripping the microphone. She wears a confident expression while facing the Boyfriend. With a fashionable type of pose, her right hand is glued to her right hip while of course her left hand grips the microphone and her legs bent facing together. As a summary, she is depicted with her V2 design, her most well-known look.

Trivia

• In a recent interview, the Friday Night Funkin developers confirmed that they wanted to get Miku in the game someday.
• Miku's commonly viewed to be Boyfriend's sister in canon.
  • It's to the point that FNF character designer PhantomArcade loves the idea of them being siblings, he has an official sketch of Boyfriend calling her sis.
  • ninjamuffin99 has confirmed that Miku is semi-canonically Boyfriend's sister.
• The fandom associates her with Monster due to standing next to him within the background cameos of Red Snow.
  • In fact, Monster can be chosen in the debug mode menu in the mod.
• It was confirmed on stream once that if Miku was officially included in the Friday Night Funkin verse, she'd no longer be 16; that way she can be the older sister.
• For some reason, her icon in Disappearance is brighter than normal.
• Miku's design is a bit more refined in the version 2.0 update, as shown by her slightly changed posture as well as thicker eyes. Miku weighs 48kg but later it changed into 42kg.

In the sound files for the mod, it is revealed that Hatsune Miku’s Vocals are part of the instrumental track, and only Boyfriend’s vocals are in the voice track.

Tricky's appearance is taken directly from Banbuds's Tricky mod (Blue shoes, intact clothing, a blue ruffle collar with lighter blue orbs on it, and red-orange hair curled in a way that bears resemblance to devil horns), with two slight alterations: He now holds a glowstick in his right hand, and the eyeholes on his mask are in an arch, to indicate his excitement towards getting to sing with Miku.

• In the foreground for the original version, characters from previous mods can be seen, such as Hex, Whitty, Carol, ENA, Teto, Monster from the original game, and Neru.
  • In the 2.0 update, there is Tricky, Kou, Sunday, Kapi and Monika. The only person to transition from the update is Carol, who is facing towards the camera giving a peace sign. Carol can also be seen on the speakers during "Tutorial" and "Endless".
    • The player can still see the original cameos by accessing the original songs in Freeplay.
• With the 2.0 update, there's now a full menu overhaul that is similar to "Project Diva Future Tone" 's select menu
• The 2.0 update features new and original dialogue for Hatsune Miku, not only for animated cutscenes, but for her game over quotes as well (motivating BF to keep on going).
• The first song, Loid, makes references back to some of BBpanzus older songs, being FL Slayer from FL Chan, and Wife Forever from Sky.
• The Freeplay song "Endless" was directly ripped from another mod, being Golf Minigame.
