ā Huggy Wuggy, Poppy Playtime
Huggy Wuggy is a character debuting in the game Poppy Playtime, and was the main mascot of Playtime Co. and serves as the antagonist for Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze.
Appearance[]
Huggy Wuggy is a tall humanoid monster of an undeterminable species. He has blue fur covering most of his body except for his hands and feet, which are yellow and seem to have all of their digits (save for his thumbs) fused into each other. Albeit not seen in this mod, his hands have what appear to be Velcro straps attached to them. Huggy Wuggy eyes resemble googly eyes, and his mouth has rows of sharp teeth concealed by bright red lips. Huggy Wuggy wears a light-blue ribbon on his chest, and his head and torso seem to have visible stitching on them.

- A notable fan theory in the early days of Poppy Playtime's fandom is that the original human identity of Huggy Wuggy was Rich Avery, a worker at Playtime Co. who was demoted for speaking out against the company. While nothing disproves it, the theory was made extremely early in the game's lifespan with only a few characters to pull from.
- Throughout and during the song Playtime, a leitmotif of Release from the Smoke 'Em Out Struggle mod can be heard sung by Huggy Wuggy, although, it isn't repeated by Boyfriend in his turn.
- Huggy Wuggy's new down, up, and right poses are similar to the ones used by the angry A.G.O.T.I..
- At the beginning and end of Playtime, the song from the GrabPack video from the original Poppy Playtime audio can be heard.
- The very first verse of Playtime has a charting error on BF's side, he can be audibly heard hitting a down note at the end of his turn, however, an arrow does not appear for this note.
- The second time the verse is played in the song, this missing arrow is present, however.
- In the fanmade videos on YouTube, most of the fans call Huggy Wuggy a Sour Patch Kid, which could be based on his looks.
- This is apparently one of the inspirations behind his appearance, as confirmed by the devs on the official Poppy Playtime Discord server.[5]
- People have been saying that Huggy Wuggy may be (canonically) Kissy Missy's brother, but it was disconfirmed, since Kissy Missy is confirmed to be Huggy Wuggy's lover, based on Kissy Missy's profile in the digital collectible website though he will have another song.
- The song name of Playtime is also used in Friday Night Fluffin', Bad Luck QT, Friday Night Foundation, and V.S Hangry.
