Biography[]

Early Life[]

Tom Stewart Oliver was born on June 28, 1951 into a poor family. His father worked as a city shoemaker and earned pennies, and his mother was a Russian immigrant and a housewife. Tom also had an older sister, Rose Oliver, who not only disliked but hated her little brother so much that she once tried to stab Tom with a kitchen knife when he was 4, but ended up leaving only 2 big scars on him neck. At the age of 7, Tom lost his father, who was mistakenly killed in a failed assassination attempt. A year after this tragedy, Tom's mother was forced to send the children to an orphanage, the next day after that Tom's mother committed suicide. At the age of 11, Tom was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and the next six months were filled with pain and humiliation for Tom. Mr. Smith was a tyrant and an alcoholic, and every day he beat Tom bloody with a bicycle chain and locked him in the basement. In addition to being humiliated at home, Tom had peer problems at school. He was constantly bullied and cruelly ridiculed, bringing Tom to tears. But on the night of October 16, 1963, during another beating, Tom went crazy and that night beat Mr. and Mrs. Smith to death with a piece of pipe, breaking their skulls, and then ran out of the house into the street all splattered with blood and in tears, where he lost consciousness. Waking up in the hospital, Tom confesses to the murder of the police and gives all the details. No criminal case was opened because Tom was a minor and the police found the deceased Mr. Smith guilty of the situation. As a result of the injuries sustained as a result of the beatings, Tom suffered a severe spinal injury, as a result of which he underwent 2 major operations on him, and Tom had to lie in the city hospital for a year. While Tom was in the hospital, he was adopted by a single father, Mr. Philips, who vows to treat Tom like his own child. On October 20, 1964, Tom was discharged from the hospital, but during this time Tom began to slowly but very strongly change his character. From a quiet and modest boy, he turned into an irritated and aggressive child, and the most telling example was the case when, during another humiliation at school, Tom beat and threw his abuser out of the third floor window, after which a crazy smile appeared on his face, indicating that that he liked this reprisal. After this incident, Tom was transferred to homeschooling. Tom himself began to lead a riotous lifestyle.

Youth[]

In 1969, 18-year-old Tom Oliver moved to New York and entered New York University where he met Mike Connor who would become his close friend in the future. Tom graduated from university in 1973, after which he decides to stay in New York and find a job. As a result, Tom gets a job as a postman and works in the post office for 2 months, however, one day he accidentally crossed the path of the Italian American criminal family Giuseppe and then deliberately joins the Angelo crime family, which also included his grandfather. Over the next 10 years, Tom became an authoritative gangster, which he is incredibly proud of and considers the main achievement in his life.

Psychiatric Hospital Incident[]

At about 8 am on April 26, Tom Oliver and Mike Connor were put on the wanted list for suspected arson. Tom was forced into hiding with his friend for almost 2 years until in 1988 he was forced to return to a psychiatric hospital and finish what he started. As a result, on the morning of April 26, 1988, Tom Oliver and Mike Connor were intercepted by the US military on the surface, unconscious. Then there was a long trial, as a result of which Tom Oliver and Mike Connor were sentenced to death by lethal injection, but later, thanks to lawyers, the sentence was reduced to 3 years in prison, but thanks to ties in prison, Tom and Mike were released 2 months after the sentencing.

― Mike de la Quenelle Connor III, Vs Tom Oliver

Mike de la Quenelle Connor III, also referred to simply as Mike Connor is the deuteragonist of the stories "Psychiatric Hospital" and "Red Rebel", and the main protagonist of the stories "Psychiatric Hospital: Mike's Story" and "How I Survived in the 70s". He appears in vogue as a background character and also replaces Boyfriend in an exclusive freeplay song.

Appearance[]

Mike Connor looks like a middle-aged man with a yellow mustache and slicked-back hair. He is wearing dark men's shoes, dark trousers with a belt and a light blue sweater. Mike holds a crowbar in his right hand.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Mike Connor was born on August 8, 1951 near Boston into a wealthy French musician family. Mike was the 3rd bearer of his name and was also the 3rd son in the family. His father was very serious and demanding and from an early age forced his children to learn to play musical instruments and Mike was no exception. Mike did not like learning to play music, which is why he was most often subjected to corporal punishment. From the age of 14, Mike Mike began to run away from home at night in order, in his words, "to give his head a break from musical notes", but one of these nights his father noticed him, which is why Mike was locked under house arrest, and his every step was controlled by his father.

Youth[]

In 1969, Mike moved to New York and entered New York University. His father was opposed to his son moving to New York to study, but Mike didn't care about his father's opinions, for which he was expelled from the family and began to be considered an outcast in it. At the university, Mike meets his first friend in life, Tom Oliver, who will become his closest friend. Mike studied at the university until 1973, after which he has been trying for a long time to find a job. As a result, Mike got a job at the plant, but worked there for only 4 months after which the plant went bankrupt leaving Mike without work and with a small amount of money in his pockets, which Mike spent on alcohol. When the money ran out, Mike began to sell his own things to the old woman to the pawnbroker and borrow money, which gradually began to lead Mike into despair. Soon, Mike decides to kill the old woman pawnbroker and within a month prepares a murder plan. January 21, 1975 Mike kills an old woman by beating her with an ax and steals from her a fairly large amount of money and property. However, his plan gets out of control and as a result, Mike commits 2 more extra murders and almost falls into the hands of the police. Despite a decent influx of money, Mike's life did not change for the better and he spent almost all the money in a bar together with his friend drinking companion Carlo Harinkton.

Psychiatric Hospital Incident[]

On April 24, 1986, Mike got a job as a night guard at Mental Hospital No. 173 and on the night of April 25, he accidentally meets his old friend Tom Oliver at a bar and says that he needs a partner to work. However, a fire breaks out during the night shift, which caused Mike to see what the mental hospital was actually hiding. At about 8 am on April 26, Tom Oliver and Mike Connor were put on the wanted list on suspicion of arson. Mike, as a friend of his, was forced into hiding for almost 2 years, until in 1988 he dared to return to the mental hospital and finish what he and Tom had begun. As a result, on the morning of April 26, 1988, Tom Oliver and Mike Connor were intercepted by the American military on the surface, unconscious. Then there was a lengthy trial, which resulted in Tom Oliver and Mike Connor being sentenced to death by lethal injection, but later, thanks to lawyers, the sentence was reduced to 3 years in prison, but thanks to prison connections, Tom and Mike were released after 2 months after sentencing.

Life now[]

After leaving prison, Mike again tried to find a job, but without success, and he lived only off the fact that Tom once a month sent him part of his earned money. Soon, Mike turns to Tom for help and asks him about the opportunity to join the Angelo crime family. As a result, in 1989, Mike became a member of the Angelo crime family and began to work as a doctor, thanks to which Mike was finally able to support himself. In 1990, his friend Carlo Harinkston was hit to death by a car and Mike paid for and organized his funeral, which brought him closer to the Harinkton family, especially their eldest daughter Pamela, who became his wife 3 months later. Now Mike is still married and has 6 children.

Trivia[]

  • Mike is a passionate alcoholic.
    • Perhaps his passion for alcohol stemmed from the fact that his nanny mistakenly gave him wine instead of milk as a child.
    • Mostly Mike likes to drink wine.
  • Mike is a sensible person. He always tries to think through his plan of action before starting to do something.
  • Mike is cruel, like his friend Tom, but in a slightly different sense.

  • Mike always carries a flask of alcohol with him to drink at a convenient moment.
  • Mike never wielded a firearm prior to the events of the "Psychiatric Hospital" story.
  • On the Game Over screen, Mike's left arm falls off. This is quite symbolic as in the original story "Mental Hospital" Mike also had his left arm chopped off.
  • On Game Over screen, the camera does not work correctly, which is why instead of the entire death animation, only Mike's legs are visible.
  • Mike Connor's appearance was inspired by Walt Disney's appearance. As the author himself says: "Just dye Walt Disney's hair and mustache yellow and you'll get Mike Connor in real life."
  • Mike has a very good knowledge of chemistry and biology.
  • Rumor has it that Mike is incapable of getting drunk. This is due to the fact that Mike always drinks the most, but at the same time he always remains the most sober of all.
  • In the game files, you can find an unused audio file "fnf_loss_sfx-mike.ogg" where after the sound of the microphone dropping Mike says the phrase: "Someone please tell me WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!?". Perhaps initially Mike should also was to act as an adversary in this mod, but after the idea was abandoned.
    • His phrase may also be a hint that Mike does not understand what Boyfriend and Girlfriend are doing in the middle of a secret military base and why Tom is having a rap battle with them.
    • In the game files there is also an audio file "mike.ogg" which consists of the same Mike phrase only.
  • According to the original concept, Mike was supposed to die in the story "Psychiatric Hospital", but this idea was abandoned, considering Mike's death meaningless.
  • Mike is the only character whose appearance has never changed in the 4 years of the character's existence.

Even though you now look more dangerous and cooler, but inside you remain a small and helpless crybaby...
― Rose Angel Oliver, Psychiatric Hospital

Rose Angel Oliver, also referred to simply as Rose Oliver is one of the main antagonists of the stories "Psychiatric Hospital" and "Psychiatric Hospital: Mike's Story." She appears in vogue as a second opponent in the middle of the song.

Appearance[]

Rose is a middle aged woman with short brown hair. She is dressed in the uniform of the special forces working at the SEC VIR laboratory, which is represented by black boots, dark pants with a belt and pockets, a dark jacket, an armored vest, dark gloves and a semi-armored floor metal plate with the inscription "M.T.F.". In her left hand, Rose holds a combat knife.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Rose was born on February 22, 1947 in Bristol, Connecticut. She loved her parents very much and was a calm girl until her younger brother, Tom Oliver, was born in the summer of 1951. All the parents' attention turned to the youngest son, which caused Rose a feeling of envy, which later turned into hatred. Rose hated her little brother so much that one day she even tried to stab him with a knife, but her parents who ran into the kitchen at that moment did not let her do this. When her second brother was born in 1955, Rose began to hate her entire family, and blamed her mother for cheating on her father because she believed that her brothers were not relatives. In 1959, Rose lost her parents and was sent with her brothers to an orphanage. At the age of 12, she was adopted together with her younger brother Jeremy, persuading the adoptive parents not to adopt Tom, citing the fact that he is mentally retarded.

Youth[]

At the age of 18, Rose entered Yale University and studied there until 1969. In 1970, she marries a fairly rich man, but after 2 years of marriage, she divorced him and in the process of judicial investigation, she was able to sue her ex-husband for 60 percent of the property, thereby providing herself for a long time. Starting in 1972, she began to travel around the United States spending the money she received on everything that was possible, which led to the fact that in 1980 her money began to run out, as a result of which she began to sell narcotic substances. After earning extra money in 1985, Rose moved to New York.

Psychiatric Hospital Incident[]

In April 1986, Rose reads from the newspapers about a fire in a mental hospital and learns that her younger brother Tom Oliver is wanted, which makes Rose delight. However, over time, it began to annoy her that the police could not find Tom for a long time and she repeatedly tried to find him herself, but without success. In April 1988, Rose was abducted by her younger brother, Jeremy Oliver, who was an employee of the Sec VIR Laboratories. Jeremy forcibly forces Rose to work for him, leaving her no choice. On the night of April 26, Rose was supposed to eliminate Tom Oliver and Mike Connor, who came to the territory of the SEC VIR laboratories, but her plan got out of control, which played a cruel joke on her. At around 7 a.m. on April 26, 1988, Rose Oliver was killed in a fight with Tom Oliver. The cause of death was numerous injuries and bone fractures incompatible with life. Rose's mutilated body was not found and was probably buried in the rubble of the SEC VIR laboratories.

Trivia[]

  • Rose is very proud and always puts herself above the rest.
  • Rose makes her first appearance in the story "Psychiatric Hospital" in chapter 3 of Act 2, all the while she hides her face with a helmet and just watches from afar. She reveals her identity only in the final chapter before the fight with Tom.
    • Her behavior in chapters 3-5 is a reference to G-Man who also watched Gordon Freeman from afar all the time.
  • Rose has a feminist inclination.
  • After Rose's death, all of her money was transferred to her younger brother Tom, which is a very vicious irony.
  • The uniform that Rose is wearing is a reference to the MTF from the SCP.
  • If Rose all the same would have killed Tom in a fight with him, then most likely Jeremy would still have eliminated her in view of her uselessness. So, in fact, Rose was doomed to die anyway.
  • It was Rose who cut off Mike Connor's left arm.
    • On April 1, 2021, the author wrote a small script which is an alternative version of the scene of the meeting of Mike Connor and Rose Oliver as a joke. According to the plot of this alternative version, Rose does not cut off Mike's hands and dies at his hands.
  • In the original version of the script, Rose was supposed to join Tom and Mike, but this idea was abandoned, considering it too naive and useless.

Gameplay Mechanics[]

Absolutely all gameplay mechanics are identical to the gameplay mechanics from Accelerant mod, but nevertheless, those mechanics that have been slightly changed are highlighted here.

  • Infected Notes: After Rose appears during the rap battle, she begins to send out black inflicted notes. The player must avoid pressing them. In the case of clicking on a note, the player loses most of his health. In case of a loss due to infected notes, the animation of Boyfriend's death is played, indicating that the BF has been infected.
  • Knife Notes: After Rose appears during the Rap Battle on Hard difficulty, she begins sending knife notes instead of infected notes. The player should also avoid pressing these notes. In the event of pressing the knife note, Rose throws her knife at Boyfriend, which leads to instant death.

Lyrics:
On the morning of April 26, 1986, psychiatric hospital No. 173 burned down.
Despite a strong fire, the hospital building was well preserved despite a partial collapse. Almost all the equipment in the hospital was destroyed by fire.
A corpse was found in the courtyard, bruises, dislocations and protruding broken bones were visible on the body.
At the moment of examining the body, a black viscous substance flowed from the face.
A descent was alsofound in the backyard, but it was not possible to find out where it led, since the passage was blocked by an emergency door.
According to one former hospital employee, there were only 2 people in the hospital that night.
Tom Stuart Oliver and Mike de la Quinelle Connor worked that night, and the camera captured them driving out of the psychiatric hospital in the morning.
The psychiatric hospital was declared closed and incapable of working. The building has been handed over to the US military for study.
Tom Oliver and Mike Connor are wanted.

Trivia[]

General[]

  • The mod was released the day before the 4th anniversary of the "Psychiatric Hospital" story.
    • The story "Psychiatric Hospital" was created on November 25, 2017.
  • There is a bug in the mod related to the HP lever. There is a small chance that the lever will take away health instantly, which will lead to a 100% lose.
  • If you fantasize, you can try to guess at what point approximately in the story of "Psychiatric Hospital" the events of the rap battle take place.
    • At an easy and normal level of difficulty, rap battle events most likely occur at the time of the events of Chapter 2 or 3 of Act 2 of the story, and at a complex level of difficulty, rap battle events most likely occur at the time of the events of Chapter 6 of Act 2.
  • The idea to make an extra song in the freeplay where Boyfriend is replaced by Mike Connor came at the very last moment.
  • This mod uses reanimated Boyfriend sprites made by SereBeat.
  • If you press button B twice on the title screen, then Dave will appear instead of Tom.
  • In the files you can find the audio file "1986.ogg" which is a recording of a radio message that says about a fire in a Mental Hospital and that Tom Oliver and Mike Connor are wanted.
    • "1986" is just the year this radio message is dated.

Psychiatric Hospital[]

  • SEC VIR is a complex of underground laboratories located under the Psychiatric Hospital No. 173, operating since 1976. The main task of the laboratories was the development of "Virus-B77" making its carrier a strong and durable killing machine. On April 26, 1986, the laboratories began to operate in emergency mode due to the destruction of the manufacturing sector as a result of the unexpected visit of Tom Oliver and Mike Connor. On the night of April 23, 1988, between 2-3 o'clock in the morning, a major accident occurred in the laboratories, as a result of which the laboratories began to collapse, and the personnel began to die quickly. On April 26, 1988 at 8 a.m. SEC VIR laboratories were destroyed by the US military as a result of the bombing.
  • Virus-B77 is an infectious virus developed by the SEC VIR laboratory from 1976 to 1988. In theory, the virus was supposed to make a strong and enduring killing machine out of its host, but at the time of the events of the story Psychiatric Hospital the virus was simply slowly killing its host. On April 26, 1988, all samples of the virus were destroyed. The virus is a semi-liquid, viscous substance of black color, which is also capable of moving for short distances.
    • The virus has 8 stages of infection, 5 of which are main, 2 additional and 1 as an alternative:
      1. Stage 0: The virus enters the human body in very small doses and begins to settle in the body for a long time. The person at this time does not experience any discomfort. It is easy to recover from the virus at stage 0 without any consequences.
      2. Stage 1: The virus begins to act on the body and infect healthy cells. A person occasionally begins to experience discomfort, slight dizziness and a slightly elevated temperature. It is just as easy to recover from a virus at stage 1 of infection.
      3. Stage 2: The virus begins to creep up to the brain. A person at this moment experiences a severe headache, and vomiting, the skin becomes pale. There are chances to recover from the virus at stage 2 of infection, but with consequences for humans.
      4. Stage 3: The virus begins to slowly kill the brain. A person begins to feel weak, black veins begin to appear on the skin, vomiting increased, frequent memory lapses and disorientation begin. The chance of healing at 3 stages of infection is reduced to 50%.
      5. Stage 4: The virus practically completely kills the brain. A person completely loses control over his body, his eyes completely turn black, a virus begins to stand out from the mouth, nose and eyes, the person becomes aggressive to all living things. Treatment at this stage of infection is no longer possible and any attempt at vaccination will lead to death.
      6. Alternative Stage 4: The virus is unable to take control of the human brain. A person does not lose control of his body. Treatment at this alternative stage is possible, but with dire consequences for the host. Usually this stage begins when the virus cannot or does not have time to settle in the human body, but this chance is reduced to 0.00005%.
      7. Stage 5: The virus completely kills the brain and spreads to other organs. At this stage, the person is essentially just a skeleton on which the skin is pulled. There is no chance of treatment.
      8. Stage 6: The virus completely kills the human body and leaves the body through the gag reflex. A person dies after a gag reflex.
  • According to the initial concept, the story "Psychiatric Hospital" was supposed to consist of only 3 chapters, but later the author decided that 3 chapters were too little for a story, especially since the fans demanded more.
  • Once the author was asked: "What will happen if Tom and Mike have a battle between themselves and which of them wins?" To this question, the author replied: "There will be no winners in this battle."
  • "When is Act 3?" this is the most hated question to the author.
    • The fact is that the author was repeatedly asked when the 3rd Act of the story will be and whether it will be at all, which very strongly annoyed the author, especially with the condition that the author has repeatedly said that Act 2 is the final one in the story.
  • The story "Psychiatric Hospital" is the author's first large-scale story.
