Friday Night Funkin' Twinsomnia (also known as Vs. Boy and Girl) is a mod created by sock.clip and Nate Anim8. The mod was initially cancelled, but came back with a surprise release on July 3, 2022. It has 4 songs, each one featuring two original characters created by sock.clip, Boy and Girl.

About Boy and Girl[]

Boy and Girl have existed for a very long time, even at the beginning of time itself, manifesting as representations of the two most basic genders. The King of Time and The Queen of Space were unsure of what job to assign them, but many years later, they assigned the duo to be entertainers, as their shape-shifting abilities and dramatic flairs make for a good show. However, after mankind emerged on earth, they were given new roles : babysitters, which they've been doing until the present day.

As stated previously, the twins have practically boundless shapeshifting abilities, BUT, with a catch. They can't look too similar to what their opposite gender looks like (Girl can't look like Boy, and vice versa). Aside from their shapeshifting skills, the twins can appear visible or invisible selectively, but they choose to generally show themselves to children, overall bad people, other deities alike, and monsters (whether actual monsters or imaginary ones). The twins can also consume the negative energy out of a person's mind, but don't do it often, as it is unappetizing to them. Sock stated that they were originally planned to be able to fuse, but because they have no good use for this ability, it was ultimately scrapped.

Characters[]

Boyfriend[]

Boyfriend is the protagonist of Friday Night Funkin'. In this mod, he is much younger. One night, alone in his bedroom, he is babysitted by Boy and Girl, being surprised by them.

Appearance[]

Boyfriend in this mod appears much smaller, with more exaggerated proportions, and with a much more mellow color scheme to fit with the theme of the mod. He wears a white sleeve shirt and blue pants, this being his pyjamas. He isn't wearing his usual hat, instead, he has his hair disheveled.

In Sleeptalk, he appears to be slightly worried and confused. Then after the lights turn on, he has an angry expression on his face. When singing however, he has a simple smile.

In Roughhouse (and the first half of Power-Hour), Boyfriend stands up and has a determined face, and has confident poses, being with a lot of energy overall. This contrasts how he looks in the second half Power-Hour, where he tries to do the same poses that he does in Roughhouse, but he looks more tired.

In Boogieman, Boyfriend is hiding under a blanket on his bed, shivering in terror. The pastel colors from the earlier songs are replaced with heavy shadows, lit by a red light. In a cutscene after the song, he stops shaking and finally goes to sleep.

Girl[]

Girl is one of the main opponents of this mod, along with Boy.

Appearance[]

Girl appears as a simplistic depiction of a young girl, with black hair and blush. She wears a light pink dress, and a pink bow on her head. While not shown often, her bellybutton are in the shape of an "X", referencing the X chromosome. This bellybutton can be seen on one of Sock's illustration, depicting the twins in beach outfits.

In the first half of Sleeptalk, Girl is shrouded in darkness as the lights are turned off, only the tall silhouette of her head, her body, and her arms are visible.

In the second half of Sleeptalk, Girl appeared in her default form, but with smaller and more exaggerated proportions.

During the entirety of Roughhouse, Girl's only visible body parts are her head and the upper half of her torso. At certain intervals, she will clap her hands to the beat of the music, magically forming hands that are not attached to any arms that can move at will, as well as appear or disappear as Girl wishes.

In Power-Hour, Girl appears the same as her default form, but she is much bigger in size, twice as large the size of young Boyfriend.

At the end of Boogieman, Girl's face becomes heavily distorted, with her mouth (depicted as a black upside-down half circle) covering more than half her face, and her eyes are reduced to scribbles.

Personality[]

As a devoted babysitter, Girl takes her job very seriously and keeps the children she looks after safe and content, willing to do anything to protect the kids.

Girl is depicted to enjoy soaking on the adoration of children, as she happily accepts Boyfriend's applauses.

Girl is the more calm and rational individual between her and her twin brother. She is very proficient in her job as a babysitter, as she emits a sense of calmness which can soothe children and put them at ease. But while she is calm most of the time, when annoyed enough, she can be more sassy and is good at sassing other people.

Girl takes a more down-to-earth approach, as she prioritize one's wellbeing over their feelings, and does not shapeshift as often as her brother, that is not to say that she doesn't have any sense of humor, which she does have.

Girl is an immortal being, and as such does not need sleep or sustenance, and does not adhere to the standard human eating and sleeping schedule. But occasionally, Girl treats herself to desserts, food which she enjoys.

When speaking, Girl possesses a quaint British accent, but is more soft-spoken as this accent won't appear through text.

Boy[]

Boy is one of the main opponents of this mod, along with Girl.

Appearance[]

Boy appears as simplistic depiction of a young boy, with a large smile, circles for eyes, and 8 large black strands of hair on his head. He wears a light blue shirt and blue pants. While not shown often, his bellybuttons are in the shape of an "Y", referencing the Y chromosome. These bellybuttons can be seen on one of Sock's illustration, depicting the twins in beach outfits.

In Sleeptalk, Boy is seen sitting on the bed, with a small body, slightly smaller than Girl.

In Roughhouse, he takes Girl's spot on the bed and stands up, slightly bigger in size.

During the entirety of Power-Hour, Boy appears to be much larger and bulky, his torso making up 70% of his main body (not counting the head).

At the end of Boogieman, and just like Girl, Boy's face becomes heavily distorted, his eyes are reduced to a single red dot, and his jaws can open in much larger angles, revealing a smaller set of teeth in his mouth.

Personality[]

As a dedicated Babysitter, Boy takes his job seriously and is willing to do anything to take care of the kid he watches over, both physically and emotionally.

Between the two, Boy is more carefree and cheerful, still sticking close to his persona as an entertainment, as he enjoys being 'that one funny person'. He also enjoys scaring away the harmful monsters or entities terrorizing the children, it is stated that said part of the job is his favorite.

Boy also enjoys flexing his capabilities to children he takes care of, displaying his shapeshifting prowess much more than Girl does, often shaping himself to be buff. He also takes dares way too seriously, no matter how ridiculous the dare may be.

Despite the noticeable contrast in Girl and Boy's behavior, the two are shown to be close together and can work well with little problem. They also have their moments of mischievously planning something together. Boy is so protective of his twin that if anybody dare lay a finger on her, he will go berserk.

Despite being an omnipotent entity that requires no sleep or sustenance, Boy still eats food and naps like a regular person, his favorite dish being spicy food.

He also possesses a very thick Brooklyn Accent, so thick that this accent can be seen on written dialogue.

Monster[]

Monster is a side-antagonist of Friday Night Funkin'. He is the final opponent of this mod, appearing in Boogieman.

Appearance[]

Monster appears as a multi-armed, spider-like creature hanging from the ceiling above Boyfriend's bed. He still has his distinctive lemon-shaped head, but now with heavy shadows and glowing red eyes covering him.

Personality[]

Monster has a similar personality to his base-game counterpart, being he wants to scare Boyfriend and eat him. Due to BF being a young child in this mod, he isn't as fearless as his future counterpart, and is terrified of the Monster, hiding under the covers.

Controller Boyfriend[]

Controller Boyfriend is a secret character that is only accessible through the debug menu. He is an alternate skin for Boyfriend.

Appearance[]

Controller Boyfriend is a blue game controller with Boyfriend's eyes and mouth. He also has a microphone stand. The stand is 3 times bigger than him, approximately.

Trivia (General)[]

  • Since sock.clip (the creator of Boy and Girl) is still a minor, do not make NSFW of them.[3]
  • Twinsomnia was released on the same day as sock.clip's birthday, July 3rd.
  • The name of the mod "Twinsomnia" is a compound word of Twin and Insomnia.
  • Sock stated that the universe the Whitty Mod event took place in and this Mod's universe are NOT the same.
  • Young Boyfriend has posters of Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest on his bedroom, ironic that they would end up being his possible in-laws (and attempted murderers) in the future.

The line of fact and fiction's blurring
to the point that you can't even tell
What is real?
What is false?
What is anything at all?
My favorite kind of living hell!

Now you see me
now you don't
now I'm in your head
Complicated superstitions hanging by a thread!

There's nothing wrong with a bit of traumatizing

Small pinch of fear shouldn't be that paralyzing

Unless I feel like it should be

;)

I'd ask to tell me all his secrets
so I'd never come to disappoint
Pull his teeth
prick his eyes
and make sure that he's
alive
or maybe rip out all his joints

None will listen
none will care
no one will believe
Keep these moments locked inside you
till the day you grieve

There's nothing wrong with a bit of traumatizing

Small pinch of fear shouldn't be that paralyzing

I'm not what you call your average kind of scary!

No need to yell, it's all imaginary!

Unless I feel it shouldn't be...

...Oh, OK.

Cutscene Transcripts[]

Pre Sleeptalk[]

A young Boyfriend enters his room with discontent on his face, as he is not yet willing to go to sleep. The man proceeds to throw away his red cap out of screen view, and jumps to his bed. As he sits on top of his bed, the light suddenly shuts off by itself, and Boyfriend takes notice of a mysterious, dark entity standing right in front of him, with only the edge of his bed to separate them.

Pre Roughhouse[]

As it turns out, the mysterious entity is none other than Girl and Boy, as they appeared in Boyfriend's room. After performing Sleeptalk, Boyfriend applauds Girl for the stellar performance, which she gladly accepts and showers herself with his compliment. While she soaks in Boyfriend's adoration, Boy watches with mild annoyance, which he later than shares a glance at Girl, telling her that it is his turn to sing against Boyfriend, which Girl half-heartedly accepted.

Boy then snaps his finger, poofing both him and Girl from the room. A few seconds later, Girl poofs back to the room, on the middle of the bed, which her body shrunken, and Boy jumps from the sky and crashes into the bed, effectively breaking it and sending Boyfriend flyi--

[ERROR 404]

After Girl poofed on the bed, Boy also appears in front of Boyfriend, readying himself for another rap battle.

Pre Power-Hour[]

Both Boy and Girl look at Boyfriend, who despite having sung against the two before, seems to still be energized, which leaves them unsure on what to do. Boy then has an idea, which he whispers to Girl. Boy and Girl share a mischievous smile, before Boy carries Girl, in which they fall on their back from Boyfriend's Bed, the latter watching in surprise.

Boyfriend then moves from his place, peeking on the tip of his bed. To his surprise, Boy and Girl emerge once again, but they have grown much bigger than before, to the point that Boy hits his head on the ceiling, which Boyfriend finds funny (he tries to hold his laughter in). An annoyed Boy picks up Boyfriend and puts him back at the head of the bed, readying a rap battle between Boyfriend and the Twins.

Pre Boogieman[]

Boyfriend is exhausted from singing against Boy and Girl for a long while, abruptly falling on his bed and asleep. The Twins celebrate their success into putting BF to sleep, with Girl tucking the kid with his blanket, and the pair are ready to leave.

But then, Girl senses a dangerous presence. Just above Boyfriend's bed, a sinister monster appears from the darkness of the room. Boyfriend also took notice of the monster's presence and cowered in fear, under the protection of his blanket. Angered by this intrusion, Girl and Boy prepare themselves to deal with the sinister entity and to protect Boyfriend.

Post Boogieman[]

As the song ends, the Twins shapeshift their faces to be horrifying and deformed, and let out a terrifying roar, effectively scaring and intimidating the monster, prompting him to leave, with Boyfriend once again calm and falling asleep peacefully. With that, the Twins once again celebrate their success, and poof out of BF's room, ending the story.
