Characters[]
“...”
― OMORI, when spoken to in White Space.
OMORI[]
OMORI is the titular deuteragonist of the game OMORI. OMORI is the 'alter-ego' of SUNNY, the main protagonist in OMORI. Within his dreams, he has an alternate self named OMORI, created as a coping mechanism to deal with the death of his sister, MARI.
Appearance[]
OMORI is a completely monochromatic boy wearing a black tank top, striped shorts, and long black socks. He holds his mic in his left hand, with his right holding the SHINY KNIFE, the first weapon available to him.
In the middle of White Space, OMORI shifts into a direct copy of his "battle" sprite, being more realistically drawn in a pencil-shaded art style.
In White Space - ERECT, OMORI wears headphones, a track jacket with the BIG YELLOW CAT on it, and shorter socks with the Newgrounds Angry Faic on them. His mic and headphones glow a pale green.
Trivia[]
- OMORI's vocals are sampled and tuned from track 110 of the OMORI OST, Numbers.
- OMORI's losing icon directly correlates to his battle portrait when he survives a fatal hit.

― Mewo, when spoken to in White Space.
MEWO[]

Appearance[]
MEWO is a simple black cat with a sleepy expression. She does not have a losing icon.

“I have to tell you something.”
― SUNNY, final scene in the Good Ending
SUNNY[]
SUNNY is the player character and silent main protagonist in OMORI. He is a reclusive, shut-in teenager who cut off contact from his friends after the death of his sister, MARI. After waking up from a nightmare, he ventures out of his room to his bathroom... where he sees something behind him.
Appearance[]
SUNNY looks like an average teenager. He has straight, black, ear-long hair. He wears a white-collared shirt with a black vest over it.
Trivia[]
- Similarly to Kris from Seek's Cool Deltarune Mod, SUNNY's vocals are sampled directly from various menu and battle sound effects from OMORI.

“Liar. Liar. Liar.”
― Something, STUMP AREA
SOMETHING[]
SOMETHING is a major character in OMORI. It serves as the main antagonistic force that haunts OMORI and SUNNY throughout both routes of the game. It has a tendency to appear in dark areas or directly behind SUNNY as a visual representation of his guilt and trauma.
Appearance[]
SOMETHING is a completely black creature with three spikes and a single eye. It transforms into various haunting forms from SUNNY's dreams and past.
Trivia[]
- SOMETHING's poses are based on the horror-related things based on MARI from the original game.
- SOMETHING's left pose is based on HELLMARI, more specifically, the HELLMARI jumpscare when SUNNY checks the mirror after opening the door for MARI in the prologue.
- SOMETHING's right pose is based on SOMETHING's true form.
- SOMETHING's up pose is based on the MARI SUNNY can see in the mirror after MARI's spirit plays the piano on TWO DAYS LEFT.
- SOMETHING's down pose is based on MARI? from the RAIN AREA.
- SOMETHING has been a long-time unnamed being, featured constantly on the OMORI website and promo art long before OMORI was turned into a game.
- SOMETHING is often associated with the recurring number 143 alongside MARI and HELLMARI. It is noteworthy that the number 143 can mean "I love you".
- 1:43 is the exact timestamp in the song that MARI is quoted.

“how hard do you think it is - for a kid to grow up when it's got no one to look up to?”
― Omoriboy, OMORI'S STORY
OMORIBOY[]
OMORIBOY, also known as Omori Hikikomori (omori ひきこもり), was a discontinued webcomic by Omocat about a depressed young man living in a white void, long before OMORI became a game. Omori spends his days surfing the internet, playing old games, drawing, interacting with his cat, and musing about his life. His overall personality and appearance were much more mature than OMORI's final design, with him frequently drinking alcohol and browsing adult websites.
Appearance[]
OMORIBOY appears as a slightly older and more disheveled version of OMORI, having messier hair and clothes. When ABBI steps in, he looks annoyed, even smirking when she leaves.

ABBI[]
ABBI, also known as TAKO, was a beta character that never made it into OMORI. She appeared in a hidden page on OMORIBOY's blog, and had a sprite, but was scrapped for unknown reasons, appearing in a much different form. However, she does have a small appearance as an easter egg in BLACK SPACE.
Appearance[]
ABBI is a monochromatic girl with black hair in a bob cut. She lacks eyes, instead having a question mark in their place, with her mouth serving as the point on the bottom. Two black tentacles stick out from the sides of her head. She wears a light gray crop top and black panties.

Gameplay Mechanics[]
- EMOTIONS: In White Space, Boyfriend will become ANGRY, which greatly increases the scroll speed but also health gain. After, he will become SAD, which greatly reduces the scroll speed and shrinks the health gain.
- CALM DOWN: In Behind You, SUNNY will frequently become stressed from the appearance of SOMETHING. A notification will pop up specifying the amount of times the SPACEBAR needs to be hit to CALM DOWN. While stressed, SUNNY's health will drain rapidly. It is impossible to win without succesfully calming SUNNY down.
- SPROUT MOLES: In Sweetheart, SPROUT MOLES will appear and cover the strumline and notes. Clicking on them enough times with the mouse will make them leave.
- NOTEPAD: In Omoriboy, OMORIBOY's sketchbook will appear in the center of the screen, completely blocking the left note and half of the down note. Rubbing on the notepad with the mouse will reveal a picture and get rid of it.
