Funkin' Traumatized, formerly known as Friday Night Funkin': Dreadful Stars, is a mod directed by Mayo Guy and Slima11 and developed by the F.T. Team. The mod is based on the analog horror series TMK by YouTube animator Maple Riot, as well as a variety of horror/parody material surrounding the Kirby series.
Story[]
Case 1[]
Boyfriend is surfing the internet when he goes on a sketchy website to find a rom for Kirby Super Star. After downloading it he discovers that a copy of TMK was inside it, infecting the entire game. TMK is shocked to see him and that someone other than Donny had found him but Boyfriend only wanted to have a song. After defeating TMK he succumbs to the TMK virus and gets stuck in the game as a version of Kirby. He has his last encounter with TMK where he spawns before making his escape.
Case 2[]
Donny was trying to figure out what was happening with TMK, trying to figure out what was going on when his Boss came in unannounced, things got worse and he wants answers. After a confrontation with his boss however, Donny is put inside the world of the game where he comes face to face with it's creator, Karl.

Gameplay Mechanics[]
- Fake Timer: During Safety and Redreamed, the fake timers will reverse back to extend the songs.
- Laser Blast: During Prankster, Marx will let out laser blasts at Boyfriend. The player must press SPACE in time after the danger logo flashes on their screen. Failing to do so will make the player lose instantly.
- Seperate Song: For Vibe Check Kirby, when the player plays his song it will trigger one song while playing it again will trigger another.
- Lights Out: Near the end of Bad Ending, the stage will turn dark.
Trivia (General)[]
- The FILE SWAP menu references the TMK episode Kirby// The Truth will come out, in which Donny attempts to swap TMK's files with Kirby's.
- The old Freeplay menu referenced the main menu of Kirby Super Star, which is stylized as a corkboard.
- The background of the Freeplay menu references the background of the Sound Test menu from the same game.
- The banner artwork seen on the mod's Gamebanana page unintentionally used the same banner template for the mods entered into the "Super Funky Nintendo Sounds" mod jam. The mod was never intended to join this mod jam, so this was a coincidence.[1]
- The art has since been changed to avoid connections to the event.
- Various crossovers are planned for this mod, only for them to be cancelled one way or another. The planned & scrapped collabs include:
- FNF: Stratosphere (Vs. Strato), by unknown reasons.[2]
- Speed.GIF, due to the mod's previous cancellation.
- Too Much Funkin', due to its cancellation.
- Analog Funkin', also by unknown reasons. Although it's likely that they prepared their own version of TMK.
- Spooky's Saturday Scare, except for the fact that Uni's the only one who had contact of the SSS team.
- Fatal Files was a potential bid based on this tweet. Anarack, the mod's creator, told Uni to "wait until the mod is done" and he'll consider it. This however might not happen when Uni left.
- Mario's Madness is very unlikely since no sense was made for that collab.
- Same applies with Misfire's Mario Mix.
- The mod already has D-Side designs for some characters, even if FNF D-Sides didn't even considered on collaborating with them.
- FNF: B3 Remixed, due to how long Funkin' Traumatized was taking to come out.
- The mod was formally directed by OreoDev & Uni; both of which left the mod due to various complications. Mayo Guy and Slima11 are now the current directors.
- Maple Riot (creator of TMK) has not only acknowledged the mod, but has actively promoted it by creating two different trailers as well as the Spread cutscene. However, he is not part of the mod team; he's just promoting the mod.[3]
- The Demo header has Brightside's mask in the "O" for Halloween.
- Mala had snuck this in as a funny easter egg last minute to "troll the other team members", the other team members, in fact could not give less of a shit.
- The mod was originally planned to release on October 31st, 2024, and then got delayed cause of cutscenes not being finished, the team (and community) decided it would be better to delay for that little bit of polish, and December 2024 was picked as the new release date (with room for leeway.)
- That wasn't met either.
- The second release date, January 15th, wasn't met either.
- Neither was their third date, the 16th until 20th.

- Originally this mod was going to have a 1.5 and V2 update but the ideas were scrapped due to team no longer interested for continuing the mod.
