Tails Gets Trolled was a mod based off of an ongoing webcomic of the same name created by Lazerbot. Originally released in 2011, it's based off mainly the franchise "Sonic the Hedgehog" but also has characters from a lot more series, most notably Super Mario Bros, Looney Tunes, and Tom & Jerry. It focuses on the titular character, Tails, being trolled, which leads to a series of events centered around revenge, multiple opposing factions, betrayal, necromancy, the clap, weed, romance, and more.
The comic can be read here, but be warned, because, as its website describes it, "It contains subject matter which could be potentially traumatizing, including but not limited to bullying, offensive language (profanity/slurs), graphic violence (blood/gore), sexual content, substance abuse, religion, suicide, and sexual assault, gang violence."
The comic started out with really poor reception, due to, mainly, the bad artwork, poor grammar, edgy story, and much more. Overtime Lazerbot took these criticisms to heart and improved the series. After the improvement it became a well-known and commonly praised art piece. Its popularity and praise went on to inspire this mod.
On May 12, 2025, the Tails Gets Trolled mod was "essentially cancelled"[3] due to controversies regarding one of the mod's directors and artists, Hyper. One of the songs from the mod, Outnumbered, will most likely be featured in a one-shot mod in the future.
Story[]

Chapter 1[]
One day, Tails is walking by himself in Green Hill Zone, when two Trolls, Boyfriend and Girlfriend, emerge from the shadows, call him a talentless noob, and force him to rap.
After they beat him, Tails runs away crying, and tells Sonic and Shadow about what happened. Shadow tells him that he needs to stick up for himself and fight back, much to Sonic's chagrin. Sonic says that the Trolls are probably just misunderstood, so he heads back to Green Hill to attempt to have a civilized discussion with them.
While trying to reason, Sonic becomes disgusted, appalled, and angry as he realizes that the Trolls aren't willing to talk kindly, eventually losing his increasingly forced friendly demeanor and launching into the quickest and most brutal barrage of notes he can sing, but he still fails to defeat them. He gives up, and leaves, letting Shadow try his idea.
While Sonic goes to have sex with his girlfriend to let off his anger, Shadow confronts Boyfriend, and begins an edgy rap battle, while trying to shoot Boyfriend multiple times throughout, as Tails and Knuckles watch from the background. Shadow becomes trigger happy and begins shooting more and more often and relentlessly, until he successfully shoots Boyfriend multiple times in a row, killing him, only for Girlfriend, a Neutral, to produce red strings of magic which return Boyfriend to life as a sort of zombie, and both leave the scene as Shadow watches, shocked.
The next day, Sonic finds Tails and Shadow and confronts them about Shadow's method for dealing with trolls, still believing in the peaceful method and disapproving of Shadow's more violent approach. Boyfriend then approaches the three of them, accompanied by a few other trolls. Once again, Sonic attempts to have a civilized discussion with the trolls, only for Boyfriend to start trash talking his girlfriend, angering Sonic so badly that he transforms into his Dark form, and goes all out in his rap battle against Boyfriend, actively screwing with the strumlines with every verse while Shadow kills the other trolls that were with Boyfriend. Eventually, despite his best efforts, Sonic still loses the rap battle to Boyfriend, but he doesn't back down, instead shouting loud enough to send Boyfriend flying, followed by him cutting Boyfriend in half with a roundhouse kick through the latter's waist. He then tries to attack Girlfriend, only for her to restrain him with her magic, allowing her to quickly ressurect Boyfriend and flee, flipping Sonic off as they escape and leaving the hedgehog to angrily note his failure to kill the trolls.
Chapter 2[]
Elsewhere, Silver is out enjoying his day and believing nothing can mess it up, only for him to be approached by Alex and Pico, the former wasting no time in trolling Silver while the latter tosses Silver a mic and forces him to rap against them. After the rap battle, Alex takes his leave whilst insulting Silver one last time. Pico asks who they'll troll next, only for Alex to blow him off and say it's none of his business, leading them to part ways.
Afterwards, Pico is out admiring a bush when Boyfriend and Girlfriend suddenly land in said bush, presumably after escaping Dark Sonic. Pico and Girlfriend then start to chat, which is interrupted when Pico is suddenly splattered with blood, revealed to be the result of Mario killing a troll with his hammer. Boyfriend and Girlfriend decide to check out the situation, leading to them rapping against the Mario Brothers.
As the rap battle goes on, Luigi gets frustrated with the trolls and proceeds to change into his Mr. L costume and send out more intense barrages of notes, but as a result he just ends up exhausting himself and eventually passing out, to Mario's chagrin. Mario then tries to attack the couple, only for Girlfriend to steal his hammer. Mario then takes on his Metal Form and engages Girlfriend one-on-one, temporarily having the upper hand over her, only for Boyfriend to put his microphone in front of the speakers so the feedback noise will hurt Mario's ears, temporarily incapacitating him. After Boyfriend tosses his microphone at Mario and hits the plumber in the nose, Mario decides he's had enough and tells Luigi to retreat. Pico tries to hold Luigi hostage to prevent Mario from leaving, only for the Mario Brothers to get picked up by a Warp Whistle Tornado. Pico chases after them, jumping directly into the Tornado, and tries to challenge them, but the plumbers manage to beat him no problem, sending Pico flying into Bowser's castle.
Inside the castle, a pair of trolls are trolling a Goomba, but immediately break down in fear once Bowser confronts them, claiming that they were just joking, but Bowser doesn't buy it and is more than ready to kill them due to his hatred for trolls. Pico then arrives and challenges Bowser, leading into a rap battle where Bowser tries to incinerate Pico with his fire breath while the trolls look on in horror.
Once the rap battle ends, Pico, thinking he's won, laughs triumphantly, only for Bowser to breath fire at him. Pico jumps in order to dodge the flames, which quickly incinerate the other trolls. Pico then laughs some more, but it's quickly revealed that he did get partially hit by the fire, which burned off the left half of his face along with the left half of his upper body, with the charred flesh visible through tears in his shirt. Pico then succumbs to the injuries and falls over dead.

Gameplay Mechanics[]
- Shadow's Gun: Throughout Die Batsards, Shadow will constantly shoot at Boyfriend using his gun. You need to hit the bullet notes to dodge the attacks. Missing the bullets will result in taking some damage. This mechanic returns in full force in Die Carolers.
- Enraged Shooting: At the end of Die Batsards, Shadow will automatically shoot his gun several times. This drops the player's health to 1, and is purely used for cosmetic purposes. This mechanic returns in full force in Die Carolers.
- Modchart: In Taste For Blood, the strumlines constantly moves around, similar to Detected. This modchart is potentially more challenging than the one in V3. Lonely Looser also has a modchart of its own, however it is considerably a lot more lenient. This mechanic returns for both songs' respective Halloween remixes.
- Fire Notes: In All Hail The King, Bowser will summon notes cloaked in fire as an attack. You have to avoid these notes. Hitting them will cause your health to drain rapidly for about 5 seconds. You can still counter the rapid health drain by hitting notes. The damage can stack, so hitting more Fire Notes while under the effects of one already will cause a Game Over.
- Blurred Vision: In High Shovel, the sides of the screen and strikelines have a blur effect as if the player was high as hell, which can make it hard to see. Near the end of the song, the effect is magnified to the point that the edges of the screen turn white and the notes start to appear from the middle of the screen. This can be disabled through the high shaders setting.
- Fade In/Out: In High Shovel, the notes might disappear as it gets closer to the strikeline, or appear closer to it.
- Temporary Third Strumline: In On Your Trail, Mario will bring in his own strumline in downscroll (upscroll if you're playing downscroll already) when he joins in. The healthbar will also disappear for the duration of the song. The regular opponent's strumline (which is occupied by Pori when Mario joins) will disappear not too long after, but until it does, it becomes semi-transparent, only becoming fully opaque one time.
Trivia (General)[]
- The poorly drawn style of the mod is based off the comic itself.
- In the settings, there is an effect called "Ruins The Mod." Upon enabling it, Blammed lights from Psych Engine are added to some songs.
- This is the 4th known mod to use at least 3 spritesheets for one character in a single song. The previous 3 were VS Oswald, Stickman VS FNF and The Trollge Files. The 5th is Artistic Altitude.
- According to Echo, the infamous line from the comic, "Tails, wake up, you fucked up big time" was going to be in the mod (presumably in Chapter 4). Whether it be a cutscene or a song is currently unknown.
- The team of the original TGT comics have acknowledged the mod's existence, as one question in the About section talks about what TGT is, with one mentioning about if it's an FNF mod, referring to this mod.
- There are currently 12 different menu logos used.
- Kirbf, the character you play as in the song Scars N' Stars, is based off the apperance of Kirby in the original WebComic.
- Boyfriend is dead throughout the entire mod, meaning before the end of "Die Batsards".
- While at first glance Boyfriend seems to have been revived by Girlfriend, in reality, Boyfriend is actually dead. Girlfriend is revealed to be a Neutral, meaning that she is controlling Boyfriend's corpse with the use of the red strings seen in the ending cutscene of Die Batsards.
- Boyfriend has actually made a cameo appearance in the original TGT webcomic and his shirt in the comic is the same as the mod.[4]
- This actually makes more sense taking in mind that Echolocated, the main director for the mod, actually worked as an artist for the official webcomic
- When playing on botplay, the text is instead replaced with the word "buttplug".
- Pressing the "F11" or "Alt+Enter" key will result in fullscreen mode,[5] not the "F" key.
- Kirgf is a Super Saiyan, which is the reasoning behind her blonde colored hair.
- In the song Die Carolers, the word "fucker" is bleeped out at the end of the song.
- Multiple unused sprites can be found in the game's files.
- After Hammerhead, Mario says "fuck didn't happen, shit happened" which is a line from a Tails Gets Trolled inspired WebComic called "What Mario Did At 12PM"

Narrator: Mario splatters someone's head with a hammer. Hammering a head if you will. Meanwhile, Pico gets a whole bunch of blood on him.

Narrator: Pan up, revealing Mario and Luigi.
Luigi: mario look!!
Narrator: BF and GF are there, as Mario and Luigi let out a growl.
Boyfriend: hahaha!!
Narrator: Mario growls, jumping up (superstar) with a hammer. Girlfriend uses her Neutral powers to stop the hammer from hitting BF, swiping it away.
Narrator: Mario uses his fire powers, tossing a fireball. GF uses her powers to transform into a dark form to block the fireball.
Narrator: Pico moves behind Mario, as he points the gun at him, shooting at him.
Narrator: P O C K E T
Narrator: Mario pulls out a Metal block, transforming into Metal Mario.
Mario: lets-a-go!
Narrator: GF hits Mario with the hammer, knocking him back. Metal Mario then punches GF.
Girlfriend: ah!
Mario: yah!
Narrator: Mario knocks GF back.
Pico: grr
Narrator: BF and Pico watch. BF is as smug as usual. He then hands Pico a mic.
Boyfriend: ay?
Pico: eh?
Narrator: The speaker screeches, as Mario covers his ears, the metal coming off of him.
Mario: yowowowowowowow! aaah!!!
Narrator: GF breaks the hammer, as it disappears.
Narrator: Mr L comes in, punching GF with Mario watching, before getting hit in the face by the microphone.
Mario: IMMA GETTING SICK OF YOU LITTLE SHITS
Mario: lets go, luigi
Narrator: Pico holds Mr L at gunpoint.
Pico: do anything and your gay lover dies
Narrator: The two then form a tornado.
Pico: WHAT THE FU
Narrator: Mr L then punches Pico in the face, as they flee to the tornado.
Pico: oh no you fucking dont
Narrator: He growls, running towards the tornado.
Narrator: J U M P
Narrator: The tornado spins off, as BF and GF look over, confused.
Mr. L: mario, what the fuck happened back there whilst i was knocked out?
Mario: fuck didnt happen.shit happened, those trolls were way stronger than the others. we need to come up with a new plan to retalate

Narrator: The three then get ready to fight, as Luigi spins around, kicking Pico in the face.

Narrator: Pico gets knocked into Bowser's castle.
Mario: that was impresive luigi. i always underestemate your skills, this gives me idea for the future
Narrator: Pico crashes through the window.
Pico: where the fuck am i
Narrator: The Fist In Poo Clan are chuckling, looking at a Goomba.
Tooth D. Cay: your a butt hole face
Concave Headed Motherfucker: yeah duh... your boss gots to be r******d i know i would be if i had to deal with you. ugly
Bowser: who is talking about me !!!!

Narrator: Bowser jumps in front of the two. Pico then shoots his gun as Bowser looks back at him.
Pico: Fuck off you frekish turtle dragon..demon... lion.

Narrator: Bowser growls, before breathing fire. Pico, however, is just standing by, wiping a tear from his eye.
Pico: aah...
Narrator: He then notices the fire, as he dives out of the way. The Fist In Poo Clan, however, aren't so lucky, being burned by the fire. Pico breathes a bit heavily.
Pico: hehehehahahahahh
Pico: eHAHAHAHAHAHA
Pico: AAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Narrator: We get a look at Pico. Half of his face is burnt off, as he smirks at the camera. His eyes roll up, as the death noise from Super Mario Bros plays, as he passes out on the ground.
Bowser: them trolls really was annoying
Narrator: Bowser runs off. To be continued...
Tails: LOLOL
Narrator: (Two figures are seen in the shadows walking up to tails.)
Boyfriend: HAHAHA look at that NOOB
Tails: Whats that NOiSE
Boyfriend: HA HA HA HA
Tails: WHOS THERE
Boyfriend: HAHA Dipshit!
Narrator: After that tails goes to his friends to cry
Shadow: Tsk, Tails you need to do more than that to fight a Troll

( The Boyfriend is seen dead in the floor, as it was shot to dead by Shadow, The Girlfriend looks at Shadow with an angry look. She then revives Boyfriend with her powers, much to Shadow's Dismay. As they walk off, Shadow sees 2 other trolls)

Gumbi's sprites were made by Hyper. As a late April Fool's joke, Hyper "leaked" the Gumbi sprites onto 4chan. This would go onto get Hyper "fired". Of course, since this was a late April Fool's joke, Gumbi has no chance of being added to the mod. Gumbi's sprites can be found here.
Sky, in the TGT universe, is a McDonalds worker. She appears as a supporting character in Hyper's TGT comics. She is stated by Hyper to "not appear in the mod". She's also not a Troll, but rather, just a human/demon thing.[21] Spritemaps for her and her Manifest form were released by Hyper on Twitter, for people who want to animate her.
