The Brighterside is a mod made by Slingmingo. It is a fan-made remaster of VS. Brightside that includes songs from the original mod, and some new ones containing extra characters. The mod was set to have updates that added Vase and some more extra songs, but all updates for the mod were cancelled for unknown reasons.
Game Jolt Description[]
The Brighterside is a complete overhaul of the original Brightside mod dissociated with the original owner and turned into its own separate mod. After playing through the story mode, go check out freeplay for some cool little secrets. This mod took a little over 6 months to make so we all hope you enjoy what we did for the mod. It will be getting short updates and one big update in the near/somewhat far future so that we don't keep the mod dry.
Characters[]
Brightside[]
“Okay... you had your fun... Can you please leave now...”
― Brightside, Reign
Brightside is the primary antagonist of The Brighterside. His week includes 3 songs, which are Saving Face, Reign, and Personal Invasion.
After BF witnesses him committing a murder, he gets sucked into his brain space, where the two of them battle. But, there's something odd about Brightside. Masks, each a different color and emotion appear to and fro... Until the Boyfriend punches the mask, going into Bright's brain, revealing that a Parasite was taking control.
Appearance[]
Brightside, without his mask, looks like your run-of-the-mill teenager: blonde hair, grey eyes, and his right eye is obscured by shadow. He wears a baggy grey sweatshirt, black pants, a necklace with a yellow face with x's for eyes (possibly a reference to the Nirvana logo), and pink-and-grey striped socks.
When he has his mask on after Saving Face, he stands up, sporting a yellow mask with a wide, toothless grin, his hair turns the same shade of yellow, his feet are coated in a yellowish ooze and take on a more reptilian-like appearance, and his hands have the same ooze slithering up his wrists, while holding a knife in his right hand. During his different arrow animations, his mask changes. These include a pink mask that makes him all flustered, a green one which makes him dizzy and sick, while almost dropping the knife in the process, a red one makes him look angry or agitated while swinging the knife, and a black one which makes him appear to have a breakdown.

Parasite[]
“He won... AGAINST US?!”
― Parasite, Personal Invasion
Parasite is Brightside's brain parasite that had caused him to murder someone, and is the secondary opponent of the main week for the third song, Personal Invasion.
Appearance[]
Parasite is a greenish-yellow blob with a face resembling a deer skull latching onto Brightside's brain, that changes different colors whenever they move: Black with yellow accents for up, green for left, red for right, and blue for down, to go along kind of with Brightside's mask changing and personalities.
Trivia[]
- Parasite's poses all represent different fears.
- His right pose is Trypophobia. (Fear of Holes)
- His down pose is Ommetophobia. (Fear of Eyes)
- His left pose is Necrophobia. (Fear of the Dead)
- His up pose is Stomaphobia. (Fear of Mouths)

“I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU YET.”
― Bently, Multiplus
Bently is one of the many green, cycloptic blobs that reside in the crevices of Brightside's brain, and is the opponent in the freeplay song Multiplus.
Appearance[]
Bently is a green blob with a large smile and a singular eye residing within his porous face. He has two hands, but they aren't directly attached to his body, rather opting to form on each of his sides, along with holding a microphone in its right hand.
There are other similar creatures resembling Bently that appear halfway through Multiplus, serving as either audience members or mechanics to hinder your gameplay, including small, cylindrical creatures with no mouths running amok, an off-screen Bently throwing blobs of himself over your strikeline, a screen-cracking Bently which serves as a distraction, a liquefied Bently which obscures the bottom of your screen, dozens of lesser eyeless Bentlies watching from below, two near-identical copies of Bently in the background barring the hands, and a giant, muscular, humanoid Bently watching from the background.
Trivia[]
- Bently is capable of breaking the 4th wall (or, at least cracking it).

Baldi[]
Baldi Baldimore, more commonly referred to as simply Baldi, is the primary antagonist of his own horror game, Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning as well as appearing in the Brighterside as the opponent for the Freeplay song FNF Baldi.
Appearance[]
Baldi is a tall, skinny Caucasian male with a spherical head, red lips, and a single strand of hair coming out of his scalp. He wears a green shirt, blue jeans, pale brown shoes, and holds a ruler in his right hand. He is also portrayed as a three-dimensional figure as opposed to hand-drawn sprites to illustrate his origins from a 3D game.

Otherside[]
Otherside is a ghostly doppelganger of Brightside, and is the opponent in the freeplay song Negotiation. He was also intended to appear in the song Deathbed.
Appearance[]
Otherside appears as a shadowy apparition looking similar to Brightside. His body is pitch black, with a single glowing eye and crooked smile. The lower half of his body appears to be fluid, akin to a ghost. During Negoation he emerges from a door, peeking inside through it. During Deathbed, he is covered in blood with a cut across his torso. He also gains sharp, bloodied teeth, and two glowing eyes instead of the singular eye.

TBA
Brightermom[]
Brightermom was meant to be the main opponent during the song Deathbed. Not much is known about the character, but due to her name, she is likely meant to be Brightside's mother.
Freddy Fazbear[]
Freddy Fazbear is the lead singer and titular antagonist of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. He was planned to be the opponent in the song Jumpscare.Trivia (General)[]
- Parasitic Routine, Grey Matters, You Are a Fool, and Personal Fuck You are notably absent from the mod. The first two were cut due to Sling wanting to keep the main week to three songs, while the other two were going to be added in a future update.
