VS Shaggy is a mod created by srPerez, having five characters, six chapters and a new mechanic. The new mechanic is one of the most notable features of the mod, that being Multi-Key. Selecting the Canon difficulty will have the player using four, seven or nine keys depending on the song the player chooses.
Story
In this mod, Shaggy bumps into Boyfriend and Girlfriend while looking for Scooby. He kindly asks the two if they have seen Scooby, but Boyfriend wants to sing with him. Although a bit hesitant, Shaggy accepts the sing-off.
After Where are you?, which had Shaggy let out a small burst of power towards the end, Shaggy apologizes that he lost control and that he didn't want to make it unfair for Boyfriend. Boyfriend accepts this apology and challenges him again. Shaggy obliges and heads into the second song.
After Eruption, Shaggy compliments Boyfriend on his skills and wants to speed up the pace to not bore Boyfriend. But Boyfriend wants a true challenge. Shaggy, after thinking about it, accepts and powers up, ready to challenge him with the final song.
After Kaio-ken, now in the second week, they still haven't found Scooby, but they get the idea that maybe singing his favorite song will call his attention. Boyfriend accepts and they go on with the fourth song.
After What's new, Shaggy gets sad and vents to Boyfriend about him missing Scooby. He reveals he stopped his and Scooby's aging when he was 17. He decides to make some more noise to attract Scooby and powers up once more.
After Blast, Boyfriend starts insulting Shaggy. Shaggy is at first caught off-guard by the barbs, but after a moment, he quickly gains a smirk and calls him a prick before going even harder on Boyfriend.
After Super Saiyan, Scooby appears and goes to Shaggy, explaining that he got lost due to the size of the mansion which he was in because he was running from a monster. When he spots Girlfriend, he gets scared and calls her a mean monster. Shaggy doesn't buy it at first, but then Girlfriend suddenly uses her demon powers and slices Scooby in half, his upper torso dropping to the floor while Shaggy stares on with shock. Boyfriend is noticeably shocked. Girlfriend asks Shaggy if that will get him to sing "for real". Shaggy begins to power up even more and a red glow emits from him. He looks at the couple angrily as the screen fades to black.
In GOD EATER, Shaggy snaps his fingers, which destroys the mansion and brings him, Boyfriend and Girlfriend high into the air. Boyfriend is noticeably scared about this development. Shaggy then flies up to him and reveals the nine notes he has for Boyfriend. The song begins with an angered Shaggy ready to challenge Boyfriend to one last song. After the song, it is shown that Shaggy reverts all the damage inflicted, and goes back to normal, where he reveals that he was only using 0.002% of his power and explains that he didn't even need to snap his fingers to bring the dead back and that he was actually in this universe because he had heard rumors of an immortal teenager. After some more dialogue, Shaggy then opens a portal and informs Boyfriend that he is going to be making his way to a tournament. But before he leaves, Shaggy warns Girlfriend that the next time she cuts Scooby in two, he "won't act like singing is his only option."
The ending changes if you decide to hold the down button for a long time during GOD EATER. Shaggy reveals that he was actually bluffing, meaning that he didn't really need to use any of his power to rap with more than four keys.
After this, the events of Shaggy x Matt take place.
After Shaggy x Matt, Boyfriend follows Red Shaggy. Red Shaggy reflects on his fate as a plaything of greater forces, before initiating a rap battle with Boyfriend, afraid that if he doesn't entertain the player, they will quit or even uninstall the mod, ending his existence.
After Thunderstorm, Red Shaggy is annoyed, as Boyfriend is unimpressed by the simple song. Boyfriend forces him to try harder by saying he will quit if he becomes bored, which Red Shaggy admits is a clever manipulation.
In Dissasembler, Boyfriend and Girlfriend learn that this is an alternate version of Shaggy, after he tells them his Scooby is dead and that he does not know them. He then says he should leave soon, to see the original Shaggy's next tournament match.
After Dissasembler, he leaves, but not before telling them more about how he is an alternate version, explaining the differences between himself and the Shaggy they met earlier, and starting to warn them about WB Shaggy before realizing BF would probably just want to rap with him anyways. He says WB Shaggy is able to travel universes through means that the other Shaggys cannot access, and he may surprise the two. Shortly after he leaves, WB Shaggy appears, grabs Boyfriend from the Warner Bros logo, and Girlfriend follows using teleportation.
After Astral Calamity, Boyfriend is supposedly left in hell.
In the bonus song, Talladega, when Zephyrus is assembled and brought to hell, he takes control of WB Shaggy, and says he's going to return to conquering universes, and thanks Boyfriend, saying he'll do his 3000 rap battles once every 10 years (30000 years total). Though this may seem like a mockery of BF's mortality, his age, much like the Shaggy's, is frozen, allowing him to be paid back in this manner.

Norville Rogers was the main character from the Scooby-Doo series. In canon, he is often portrayed as a slightly aloof, easily frightened man who loves food but in recent times due to internet memes (and in the mod's continuity), he is portrayed as having godlike powers which most prominently includes but is not limited to abilities from the Dragon Ball franchise, such as Ultra Instinct, which specifically comes from the Universe Survival Arc in Dragon Ball Super. He is shown to be stronger than any other existing character, easily besting beings like Saitama, Goku and Galeem.
Appearance
Shaggy is a physically young gangly man that wears a loose-fitting green V-neck T-shirt and maroon or brown bell-bottom pants. He also has light brown hair and a subtle beard.
In his Super form, he shakes intensely, his hair sticks up slightly and he occasionally leaves afterimages while singing, mainly when singing a large amount of notes in quick succession.
During GOD EATER, his hair spikes up, he has slightly bushier and more angled eyebrows and his eyes turn white with thin black outlines. He also constantly leaves afterimages when he flies around.

- Shaggy saying "Well that's the first wind I ever heard with a sense of humor!" is taken from the original Scooby Doo! Where Are You? series from 1969, specifically from the episode "Hassle in the Castle".
- Shaggy's vocals were created by taking the syllables of the phrases "Oh, but that's okay, Scooby's been through training school!" and "Lil' doe eyes Dinkley" and rearranging them accordingly for use with the mod. These phrases were taken from "Scooby-Doo: Abracadabra-Doo!"
- The reason Shaggy's most used vocal is "train" is because it was the only note the mod's creator was able to extend.
- In GOD EATER, Shaggy says, "This can go 2 ways, punk. 1: You walk away. 2: I walk on your face!" which is a line directly pulled from Scooby-Doo: Legend of the Phantosaur! with the specific scene that it was pulled from being the very scene that kicked off the meme that started it all and inspired this very mod.
- The animation directly preceding GOD EATER of Shaggy becoming enraged, complete with the various flashes and teases of his power-up and the pose he strikes after finishing it are all references to the Dragon Ball franchise. Most specifically, it's referencing a scene from Dragon Ball Z's Frieza Saga, which features the very first appearance of the Super Saiyan transformation which was initiated by Goku out of rage over Frieza murdering his best friend.
- During the cutscene that follows GOD EATER, Shaggy compliments the Boyfriend for being able to keep up with him on his first try before noting that was only from his perspective with him adding "I'm guessing you have some time resetting ability, so I'm glad I didn't go full power on you.". This is a joke that both breaks the fourth wall by referring to the retry functionality but also it subtly acknowledges that players will probably be using this function many times during the harder songs and most especially GOD EATER.
- The first song of the mod Where are you? is based off the theme song of Scooby-Doo! Where Are You?, the very first Scooby-Doo series.
- Likewise, the song What's new is based off the theme song for What's New? Scooby-Doo!.
- However, What's new is currently copyrighted, though there is a copyright-free version available to play.
- Likewise, the song What's new is based off the theme song for What's New? Scooby-Doo!.
- The old titles of Shaggy's weeks are direct references to the Shaggy meme itself and how the images associated with it most frequently make statements about how Shaggy is only using an absurdly small amount of his power despite pulling off godlike feats.
- The songs Kaio-ken and Super Saiyan are both respectively named after the technique and the transformation of the same name from the Dragon Ball franchise.
- The tournament mentioned after GOD EATER is implied to be TeamFourStar's "Cell Games" tournament, as Shaggy mentions one of its "competitors", Saitama, who promptly leaves due to the tournament being scheduled on the same day as a supermarket bargain sale. It could also be seen as a nod to Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power due to Dragon Ball Super being one of the most frequently referenced series in many of the memes that feature Shaggy.
- Boyfriend gets scared and starts shaking 3 times in GOD EATER: first when Shaggy lifts him and Girlfriend up into the air, second when Shaggy starts flying around in the air in an infinity pattern, and third in the last section that Shaggy sings, which is right before Boyfriend's last section.
- Distant Power Burst was actually a section of Super Saiyan, with the section starting at exactly 44 seconds and ending at 1 minute and 1 second.
- In the mod's files, the instrumental for the copyright-free version of What's new is called "Fuck".

Red Shaggy

Red Shaggy is one of the main characters of Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase. He is the video game counterpart of the real Shaggy Rogers. He appears as an opponent during Chapter 5, and the Shaggy that also appears in the Shaggy x Matt mod.
Appearance
Red Shaggy looks similar to Shaggy's normal appearance except he has a red shirt, blue pants, and a different head design. The head's design is more similar to his cartoon appearances.

- Red Shaggy's outfit references The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, Scooby-Doo Meets the Boo Brothers, Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School and Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf.[3]
- For Thunderstorm, all of Red Shaggy's vocals are extended.
- SrPerez made most of the songs for the mod, with two exceptions, the first being Thunderstorm, the second being Dissasembler.
- Coincidentally, they're both sung by Red Shaggy.

WB Shaggy

WB Shaggy seems to be crazy and dangerous. According to Zephyrus, his life is less sad than that of the other Shaggys. This could be taken as meaning that his friends are immortal, he didn't have any friends, his friends haven't died yet or he didn't care about their deaths.
Appearance
WB Shaggy is based off of Shaggy's appearance in the Warner Bros. Animation logo used in the movie Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms, where he has a fiery green aura and glowing eyes.
Trivia
- Despite his appearance, WB Shaggy is the weakest of the three.
- This might be due to the power-to-note ratio, WB Shaggy requires a powerful form with a glowing green aura to use a 7-Key Strumline, Classic Shaggy requires very small transformations to use 6-Key and 9-Key strums, and Red Shaggy (who is stronger than both of them) is able to use up to 9 Keys without having to power up in any way, as shown during Shaggy X Matt

Zephyrus
“Here I go!! Watch me live, bee!!!!!!”

Zephyrus was the WB Shaggy-like universe conquering force who was split apart and sealed away, being reduced to a phantom mask. He convinces Boyfriend to collect the parts of his mask by promising to sing 3000 rap battles, and after being completed, makes Boyfriend take him to WB Shaggy, whom he places himself onto, taking control of him. This leads his song, Talladega, in which he is fought.
Appearance
Zephyrus is a white left half of a mask with a red-orange horn. His eye is pure yellow, and he has a fanged mouth. Before all his pieces are collected, he will be represented by a colorless translucent version of himself, phantom Zephyrus, which will slowly be replaced by his normal form as pieces are added.
WB Shaggy's form when controlled by Zephyrus resembles a normal Shaggy, but somewhat distorted and monstrous. His forearms are separated with only 3 fingers on each hand. His pants are more of an orange color and appear distorted or motion blurred, and there's a design resembling a face on his shirt. He wears Zephyrus, but the visible half of his face appears manic. His head and arms also appear to be separated from the torso and are floating of their own accord. If one can notice, there is a mouth-print on the shirt of this possessed, manic Shaggy.
Trivia
- Zephyrus's past is shrouded in mystery, he was supposedly part of a "family" of universe conquerors, until his "brother" betrayed their "father". He was later sealed away by an unknown force, likely WB Shaggy, explaining his dislike of him.
- Zephyrus takes massive inspiration from Toby Fox's characters, particularly Spamton of Deltarune.
- A motif from the strings in BIG SHOT can be heard when Zephyrus possesses WB Shaggy, with the audio file labeled simply as 'zephyrus' in the mod files.
- The animation of Zephyrus possessing WB Shaggy is notably similar to when, in Deltarune Chapter 2, Kris snaps the final wire holding Spamton NEO.
- The song name Talladega is a reference to a NASCAR track called Talladega Superspeedway. This may be a reference to the song's note speed, the fabled 'Talladega Curse' or meant to be intimidating.
- The Zephyrus side quest is inspired by the Spamton side quest in Deltarune.[6]
- Zephyrus mask design would had also looked like Spamton face and would have spoken like him however that idea was scrapped because srPerez didn't want to write a character who spoke in [brackets].

Spamton Shaggy
Spamton Shaggy is an alternate version of Zephyrus Shaggy originally found in the source code's art folder, where rather than Zephyrus's mask, Shaggy wears a mask akin to Spamton from DELTARUNE: Chapter 2. He ultimately gets added in, singing Spamton's theme BIG SHOT. He is also the last character to be added in the mod.
Appearance
Spamton Shaggy overall resembles Zephyrus physically except for his hair, which now appears black, and the mask he wears, which now resembles Spamton, with his yellow eye, long nose, and big smile.

During specific songs, there will be extra notes. (You can change these binds in the settings).
During Kaio-ken, Blast, Super Saiyan and Thunderstorm on Easy Difficulty, there will be 6 types of notes.
- The default keybinds are S, D, F, J, K, and L.
During Thunderstorm on Canon Difficulty, Disassembler, and Astral Calamity there will be only 7 types of notes.
- The default keybinds are S, D, F, space, J, K, and L.
During GOD EATER, and Talladega, 9 types of notes are present instead.
- The default keybinds are A, S, D, F, SPACE, H, J, K, and L.
Trivia (General)
- This is the first week mod to introduce a character from a television franchise.
- This is the first mod to have the player use more than 4 keys.
- The friend that killed Shaggy and Red Shaggy's friends was most likely referring to Velma Dinkley, a member of the Mystery Gang, and a dear friend to Shaggy , as she was his canonical love interest in the show.
- The diamond note used in the 7 and 9-Key strumlines plays the up animation, despite not pointing in any direction.
- In the old mod's files, there was a song called "Garden Havoc" which is just Philly with unsynced charting. It was unknown what the purpose of this file was until June 12th when SrPerez uploaded the finished track revealing it was made for another mod called Vs. Tomato Dude.
- There was also an unused song called "DonDiablo" which also comes from Vs. Tomato Dude.
- On srPerez's YouTube channel, there's the EX OST which consists entirely of joke songs that will not be added to the actual mod. There is Expurgation (from the Tricky mod) sung by Shaggy in place of Tricky and Monochrome (from the Hypno's Lullaby) sung by Shaggy in place of Gold.
- The right side up note in 9-Key is grey in the files, but is bright red in actual 9-Key.
- Blast is currently SrPerez's least favorite song.
- This was because the old version of it apparently had the wrong feel to it, it was more melancholy than it should have been and it didn't have the same feel of the other songs, they explained the misstep by saying that it was intentionally melancholy due to the previous dialogue, but only they and a couple of other music connoisseurs knew that the song's original feel was incorrect, Blast was the last song SrPerez worked on for the initial mod and they were feeling incredibly tired while making it, leading to the oversight.
- In the recent update, they stated they fixed it a little bit but still thought it was the worst original song.
- One of Zephyrus's dialogues jokes about this, saying that the song sucked and that him laughing over how horrible it was caused his mask's mouth piece to fall off.
