Vs. Convict is a mod created by Banbuds and directed by AlcoholicDJ. It stars Convict, the titular Pico antagonist, rap battling against multiple people in a gory fashion.
Story[]
Girlfriend mysteriously has gone missing. One day Boyfriend randomly receives a letter from who he thinks is his Girlfriend saying that she had been kidnapped and he needs to save her. So Boyfriend, Pico and one of Mommy Mearest's henchmen head to her location in an attempt to find her.
After driving to the address provided they arrive and an abandoned building. Boyfriend hops out and heads in with the Henchmen while Pico goes his own way. After searching he finds who seems to be...himself? The lookalike explains that he will sing one song with Boyfriend and then he will kill him. After this they sing together, leading to the pretender revealing he was Convict, an old foe of Pico's before murdering boyfriend in cold blood by decapitating him.
After this Pico catches up to them and sees the grizzly sight of Convict murdering his ex. Furious he fights him as both revenge and a way to get rid of Convict for good.

Convict is a shapeshifter with a skull for a head, debutting in the flash animation Pico vs. Convict, eventually becoming a semi-recurring Pico character. After killing everyone in Pico's School along with boyfriend, Pico finds a note from Nene, saying that he should meet up with her, in order to get some... "loving". But, this was all a ruse for Convict to catch up to Pico, and attack him, transforming into Pico's cousin, Otis, and beating him up to hell and back, before transforming into The Bear, choking him.
Nene shows up just in time, and gets Convict mad, chasing after Nene. Pico goes to his locker to pull out his guns, as Nene and the Convict are tussling. Pico then shoots Nene, as "Nene" (who is later revealed to be the Convict) hugs Pico.
In the mod, Boyfriend and a Henchman team up to confront Convict in an abandoned warehouse. Convict has shapeshifted into a guise of Boyfriend to decieve both of them.
At the end of Manipulator, Boyfriend cheers for himself. Convict punches Boyfriend, sending him flying into a shelf and stunning him. Convict winds up and bashes him in the head with his microphone, splitting his head open and instantly killing BF with blunt force.
Appearance[]
Convict appears in Manipulator disguised as Boyfriend. The imperfect clone notably has white eyes (similar to Pico, Nene, and Darnell's designs) and dark gray hair. His eyes have the ability to glow in his hair's shadow, and he has two small fangs in his mouth.
Around halfway in Manipulator, Convict becomes twitchy and stops attempting to copy BF. His red eyes are framed in shadow, his mouth melts slightly to show off sharp yellow teeth, and he has a pulsing gray vein on his face. His disguise twists and morphs into various gory forms, with Convict's true form bursting out from his head. Notably, he gains protruding spikes on his back (which he can skewer his own organs onto.)
Convict's true form appears to be a towering adult man with a gray skull head, red eyes, sharp teeth and dark skin. He is wearing a black suit with a red tie and shoes with red buttons on them.
Trivia[]
- Convict appears in the game Newgrounds Rumble, a Smash Bros type game with characters like Piconjo, Nene, Fancy Pants, and even Salad Fingers. Convict has the unique mechanic of shapeshifting into a random character every once in a while, but who and when cannot be decided manually. He is one of two unlockable characters.
- After reaching out to Convict's original creator, Luis Castanon, Banbuds has been able to confirm on stream that Convict originated as a prisoner and gained his powers after being struck by lightning.
- Despite the imperfect Boyfriend appearance, Convict's disguises in his media have them be perfect to a T.
- Convict only began wearing the suit and tie in Newgrounds Rumble, with his debut having him shirtless.

Pico is an aggressive and homicidal mercenary and a proficient marksman. He appears here searching through the abandoned house with Boyfriend, but is separated from BF at some point, leading to his demise. He then takes it upon himself to enact revenge on Convict.
Appearance[]
Pico appears the same as his base game counterpart, but he wears a green jacket while having visible sweat and a distraught and angry expression. In the flashback portions, his appearance shifts to his more iconic self, now emulating Mindchamber's artstyle. His gun also changes as well.

The Visitor[]
The Visitor is an aggressive parasitoid parasitoid alien seeking to consume and assimilate any living in sight being no matter the cost. Debuting in his eponimous game, it emerges from a crashed meteorite to wreak havok to an unsuspecting household. It is the opponent of the song Visit.
Appearance[]
The visitor is a pink (though usually seen a blood-dyed red) wormlike alien. It has two earline antannae on top of it's head and a circular maw full of sharp teeth. It additionally has the ability to assimilate the core characteristics of any animal it eats.
During the second half of Visit it does just that, having assimilating a crow and changing as a result. It now appears considerably larger. It additonally gains a pair of black feathered wings on it's back and a black beak covered with teeth on the inside and able to split in four.

Cassandra[]

Cassandra is an arrogant, loud-mouthed, and manipulative teenage girl. She is secretly a Penilian, an alien species attempting to take over Earth. She was the main perpetrator of the school shooting, and was killed by Pico at the end of Pico's School. She will be the main opponent in the song "Nonconformist".

Cassandra is a fair-skinned teenage girl with spiky red hair, a black blazer, and red jeans. She wears fingerless gloves with red nails. She wears golden inverted crosses on her shoes. She holds a book with a pentagram on it, and a large assault rifle.

Nene[]

Nene is a character from Pico's School and part of the main trio of protagonists alongside Pico and Darnell. In the mod she is not part of the main story and instead part of the extras.
Appearance[]
Nene has slanted white eyes and short, black hair with a pink headband. She wears a pink sun hat with a white band and heart pin on the side. She pairs that with a pink jacket that is unzipped with a white bra and ripped jeans as well as pink converse shoes with black stars on the sides. She has her tongue sticking out in her idle referencing base game, along with her having sharp teeth when she opens her mouth also in reference to base game. She wields her signature serrated knife as well in the song.

- Nene was originally not planned in the mod but was added much later on.
Gameplay Mechanics[]
- Shields system: During Rumble Pico starts out with zero shields. The player can store up to three shields by hitting shield notes. Losing a shield while at zero shields results in an instant game over.
- Shield Notes: These notes appear throughout Rumble. Hitting the notes results in Pico gaining one shield, however missing them results in Pico losing a shield just like missing a bullet note.
- Bullet Notes: Just like shield notes, these notes appear throughout Rumble. The player must hit the notes or else Pico will lose a shield.
- Slash Notes: These notes appear during Rumble and cause an instant game over when pressed. The player should avoid them at all costs.
- Convict's Hand: In Rumble at about 1:55 seconds in Convict's hand will begin to slowly push down the player's notes, stopping at about 2/3ds down the screen. This does not switch the gameplay to downscroll meaning that the notes will come in a lot faster and the player will have less time to react. This is unavoidable and the player should pay much more attention to the notes after they're pushed down.

Trivia (General)[]
- The background has many objects such as (presumably) on the left, Sanford's hook, Hank's red lens goggles, a chainsaw, Ice King's crown, and a bloodstained Gameboy. On the right, a Castle Crasher helmet, a hotdog bun and a bloody poke ball. These are all references to various mods Banbuds, the original creator of the Convict mod, contributed to, including Tricky the Clown, Castle Crashers Boss Rush, and Friday Night Funkin' Lullaby.
- Convict's music in Pico Vs Convict is taken directly from the Beetlejuice theme.
- The idea for Convict's mod was inspired off of a /v/ post on 4Chan. You would start out fighting a Boyfriend clone who's slightly out of tune (Manipulator), but after the first song, he transforms into his normal form, and begins to absolutely go to town on you (Rumble). Banbuds commented on this, saying, "This is unironically such a sick idea."
- The Visitor will be the 3rd phase in the mod, fighting against Pico.
- In Manipulator, Convict's voice gradually deteriorates from sounding similar to Boyfriend, then to a deeper, distorted version, then to a scratchy, deep voice (Convict's true form).
- Notably, in the old version of Manipulator (V2), Convict only used the middle voice.
- DozenRahyz, one of the directors for One Shot Mania, was supposed to create a background for Vs. Convict but had been intervened by work and for other reasons that aren't known to be stated.[10]
- In the current release of the mod, both Convict's and Pico's winning icons go unused. In the upcoming Full Slaughter update, there is a very high possibility that the winning icons will become used as the mod is being moved to Psych Engine.
