Reason: Things needed: The Devs' Folders with all their secrets, The two videos from the menu codes, Transparent PNGs of the Old and New Sprites, BPMs on the songs, All assets relating to "Clubhouse", the Colegamer Unknown Suffering Cover and Luis and Felipe's animation from the start of leak ma balls, The Cutscenes' Transcripts (get to work!!!), The Box Funkin' Staff members on the characters tab if you could, The instrumentals and Cheddar/Qunny animations.

Whether it got online or not is up for debate, but if rumors serve me right, it's online somewhere under "suicidemouse.avi". If you ever find a copy of the film, I want you to never view it, and to contact me by phone immediately, regardless of the time. When a Disney Death is covered up as well as this, it means this has to be something huge.

Wednesday's Infidelity is a mod created by The Box Funkin' Team. This mod is mainly based upon the SuicideMouse.avi creepypasta, while also using story elements from an early story arc within the Mickey Mouse newspaper comic strip called Mr. Slicker and the Egg Robbers.[1]

The mod also features various creepy Mickey-related characters as well as some guest appearances from VS. Impostor and Sr. Pelo's Mokey's Show.

Opening Text

"wash your hands--stay safe bro" - A reference to the Covid-19 pandemic, with this specific message already present in Psych Engine by default.

"wear a mask--even if vaccinated" - Same as above.

"miska mooska--mickey mouse" - A reference to Mickey Mouse's catchphrase in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

"rip beatbattle--we will miss you"

"hey guys--wario here"

"its a world of laughter--a world of tears" - A nod to the first verse of, It's a Small World.

"hotdog hotdog--hotdiggity dog"

"something seems--sussy" - Possibly a reference to Impostor Mouse.

"hey i hope your--having a great day"

"mickey--so sad"

"come on--we need those bricks" - Possibly a reference to Julian and/or the Brick of Happiness week.

"i swear--unknown suffering motif"

"thanks--texture packer"

"breaking bad--reference"

Gameplay Mechanics

  • Health Drain: Throughout the mod, Mickey will push back Boyfriend's health whenever he sings.
    • Prior to Part 2, Mickey would not push back your health during Wistfulness. Unknown Suffering also had a larger rate of health lost compared to other songs within the mod.
    • Satan will also push back the health bar as he sings, regardless of the song he's in. Oswald, Mokey, and Miki will also start to push back your health after they change their form.
  • Screamer Notes: During Accelerant, these notes act identical to Bullet Notes in hard mode during Hank's song in Friday Night Funkin’ ONLINE VS. : Challenges. Therefore, you have to hit these notes, otherwise you lose some health and the effects from the Syringe mechanic below start taking effect (which includes the speed up).
    • Prior to Part 2, during the second half of Dejection, these notes would appear on Boyfriend's side of the song. When hit, they would trigger a distorted screen of Mickey's face, blocking the player's screen for a few seconds, requiring you to avoid them.
  • Syringes: During Unknown Suffering, Mickey will throw his syringes at Boyfriend, a warning will appear on the player's screen showing the words WATCH OUT! as well as a loud sound playing in order to alert the player. The player in response has to press the dodge button at the right time in order to dodge Mickey's attack. If the player fails to dodge Mickey's attack, one of the three events will happen:
    • 1. The Stage spins back and forth
    • 2. The notes spin on itself
    • 3. The notes slowly drift around
  • These effects can stack on top of each other, on top of this, the player's screen will slowly become more distorted the more times they fail to dodge Mickey's attack, and the chart still speeds up.
    • Prior to Part 2, this mechanic functioned very differently. Whenever Mickey attacked, a syringe note would appear on the chart, although they would appear in between Boyfriend's note strum line, they were actually charted to one note and not to both notes on the strum line. When hit, the scroll speed would increase. Interestingly, hitting these notes would count as a miss, but they wouldn't drop the player's combo and Boyfriend would've still gained health.
  • False Timer: Also during Unknown Suffering, at the start of the song, the timer shows that the song is 2 minutes and one second long. However, when the timer finishes, the screen will cut to black and only the timer will remain. The timer then extends to 2 minutes and 54 seconds, and the song continues.
  • Anti-Pause & Satan's Jumpscare: If the player tries and pause the game by pressing ENTER on the main weeks, the game will display Satan (But only his head), who will then block the middle of the screen for a few seconds while saying "You can't stop now". In the Part 2 build, the game also continues to run in the background of the player's PC regardless if it is focused or not. This mechanic is also present in Needle Mouse, Unknown Danger, and Untold Loneliness.
    • However prior to Part 2, if the player pressed 3, the game would pause normally.
      • This feature was removed for normal builds of Part 2, however if the game is recompiled as a dev build, this feature is restored.
  • Week Misses/Morality: When playing the entire week, misses are not kept track of per song, but rather, misses will follow the player throughout the whole week, dying on a song resets the player's misses to how many they had at the beginning of the song, effectively forcing the player to not miss as much during the main weeks. This mechanic will also keep track of Boyfriend's morality for Saving Mickey. If the player manages to keep themselves under 30 misses for Mickey's week, then the Good Ending is activated. If the player beats Unknown Suffering with over 30 misses however, then the Bad Ending is activated.
    • Prior to Part 2, the game carried over the player's misses between deaths, and songs started on the Freeplay menu were still affected by this mechanic. It would only be reset upon exiting the main week/song, or completing them. The Good and Bad ending mechanic didn't exist yet, and as a result the player always ended up on a cliffhanger whenever they completed the main week, regardless of misses.
  • Decaying UI: Starting with the second half of Wistfulness, film decay will start affecting the visual effects of the screen. Showing the video distort itself and the UI disappear for a few seconds.
    • Prior to Part 2, only the UI was affected by this mechanic.
  • Screen Shaking: Whenever Mickey becomes fully insane, the screen will moderately shake whenever he sings. This also applies to Oswald, Mokey, Miki, and Satan after their respective form changes.

Trivia

General

  • Just like Sunday Night Suicide, Wistfulness contains a sample of Steamboat Bill, the song Mickey famously whistled in Steamboat Willie and the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Theme Song, sung by They Might Be Giants.
  • The main menu image for this mod takes some inspiration from Cuphead's file select image, originally drawn as a joke by one of the developers, it was eventually accepted into the the full mod.
  • The Good Ending parallels the ending to Mickey's brief episode within the original comic; Minnie actually falls for Mr. Slicker, in which it was revealed that Minnie never actually fell in love with Mr. Slicker.
  • Apparently, the reason why even in the Good Ending Mickey still ends up in hell is because by heavily drugging himself. According to the Bible, it actually says that drugging is really a sin, and before he can repent Satan cheats him out of redemption and just straight up explodes him.
    • However, the Bible does not directly addresses the disease of addiction because the word addiction wasn’t used when the Bible was written.[2]
  • In the Part 1 build, due to the increased rate for health drain, it is only possible to push Mickey into his danger icon during Unknown Suffering twice.
  • Unknown Suffering has several references to Friday Night Funkin' Lullaby and "Defeat" from VS. Impostor.
    • The old background has one of the planks say "I'M DEAD", referencing Gold's infamous line in Monochrome.
  • Cravings has several motifs to other songs, which includes It's a Small World, Wistfulness, Happy and Dejection.
  • The sprite sheet and code for Sonic.EXE's jumpscare can be found in the files. The reason as to this being in the files was as a homage by the devs when RightBurstUltra congratulated them and gave the idea for the Screamer Note mechanic.
  • Wednesday's Infidelity was originally going to have crossovers with other Sad Mouse mods. This means that Wednesday's Infidelity could've got the chance to collaborate with Sunday Night Suicide, Craziness Injection and Vs. Mouse. Unfortunately, due to controversies surrounding their respective staff members behind the scenes, those crossovers never saw the light of day.[3][4][5]
  • The week background and Satan originate from GorixGorix's version of Suicide Mouse.
  • Mickey has at least 2 forms in every song involving him, except for Dejection, Battered, and Accelerant.
    • Mickey had 2 forms in the old version of Dejection, however.
  • The Box Funkin' team's interested in making crossovers, as situated with the Friday Night Funkin Secret Histories & VS. Impostor crossover teasers.
  • Vesania has a reference to both Unknown Suffering and Unhappy/Wistfulness.
  • On May 27th, 2022, Slingmingo, a former Box Funkin' dev turned hacker, leaked a build of Part 2, due to him wanting revenge on the team behind the mod for deleting his YouTube channel for posting leaks.[6][7]. The build, however, was an outdated version on Psych Engine v0.4.2.
    • Another incident was occurred on September 6, 2022, which is when a gameplay of Vesania, Untold Loneliness, Too Slow Encore, Last Day's Remake and Dejection Remastered was leaked on YouTube by another former W.I dev named Oz/Kyz.[8]
  • Wednesday is the most likely day of the week for Suicides to be carried out.[9] On top of this, the mod's release date is the same day that Walt Disney died.
  • Mickey's appearance during the second half of Unknown Suffering is based on GorixGorix's interpretation of Suicide Mouse.
  • When translated into English, Vesania is Spanish for "insanity".
  • When translated into English, Versiculus Iratus is Latin for “angry verse”.
  • Wednesday's Infidelity Mickey makes an appearance in Cognitive Crisis alongside other Suicide Mice seen in other mods in the song, Cast And Crew.
  • This version of Accelerant that this mod covers, is noticeably the new remixed version from Friday Night Funkin’: Antipathy.
  • Donald, Satan and Mickey are respectively the fifteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth characters to flip off the player (as seen in the two latters's respective right poses during Leak Ma Balls), the first being Tom, the second being Selever, the third being Tricky (Hellclown Form), the fourth being Fliqpy (miguel185), the fifth being Mag Agent: Torture, the sixth being Caddicarus, the seventh being Fleetway Super Sonic (Vs. Sonic.EXE), the eighth being Nitty Gritty, the ninth being GB, the tenth being Nightmare Bendy, the eleventh being Cassette Goon, the twelth being Xenophanes, the thirteenth being Sally_ALT and the fourteenth being Robo-Sandy.
  • This is the 4th mod to extend the song length bar (this happens in Unknown Suffering at 2:02 and Kriman't at 2:05), with the 1st being Vs. Bob and Bosip in Tutorial EX, the 2nd being Indie Cross in Imminent Demise, and the 3rd being Friday Night Funkin' D-Sides in Too Slow.
    • However, this is the second mod to do it on Psych Engine, and the 1st being also being Friday Night Funkin' D-Sides.
    • The usage of this mechanic on this mod might be a reference of the original creepypasta, where people thought the Suicide Mouse cartoon only lasted for three minutes before it faded to black, but once the tape was digitalized, its true length was revealed to be longer, rounding in at exactly, nine minutes and four seconds.
  • Mickey X Satan and Julian X Cheddar were canon ships (as jokes) until being removed due to lore reasons.
  • Oswald is the 2nd D-Sides based character to rhyme in a song, taking after Mighty.ZIP, D-Sides's version of Sonic.exe.
  • Additionally, Oswald is the third character whose icon shakes (as seen in the second half of Untold Loneliness), the first being Hypno during Left Unchecked and the second being Delirium, and third being Gorefield.
  • Goofy and Donald do not exist in the mainline Wednesday's Infidelity universe.
  • While the good ending is canon, both endings lead to the same outcome, Boyfriend and Mickey in hell.
    • That means that technically, there is no "good" ending.
      • The Good ending of this mod was originally going to be an actual Good ending, but Zero (mod artist) came up with the idea of Satan exploding Mickey's head after Sunsets.
  • FNF Vanilla's Boyfriend can possibly defeat Satan from this mod.[10]
  • A Word doc made by members of Box Funkin reveals a few bits about the story:
    • Goofy and Donald do not exist in the canon story, the appearance of Donald and Goofy in freeplay are alternate universe versions, not the same as the main story. And no, they did not die in a car crash, they didn't exist nor did Mickey know them at that time, Accelerant Donald took the same path of Tricky being a zombie duck and in Vesania, this one was mutilated together with Goofy by the devil.
    • This GF and BF are the great-great-grandparents of the current BF, both being completely human and common people, GF has no relation to the Dearests and is not a demon, neither does she have powers.
    • Canonically, WI Mickey cannot meet or be friends with Julian, Cheddar or Impostor Mouse, because they are all the same. The friendship with the devil that can be seen only exists in freeplay where nothing is canonical or alternate universes.
    • While Satan maintains a fascination with torturing and keeping close to Mickey, Waton (D-Side Satan) doesn't like Oswald, he doesn't care for him so he won't let him die.
    • Puppet Mouse and Cheddar have their own names, Julian and Qunny.
    • The flower on GF's hat is a gift from BF, this is seen in the background of the mod where she is just receiving the flower.
    • The modern gun that Mickey has was given to him by the devil as a "gift" that he can use to end his suffering (although this is just a trap, it only drags him to hell when he uses it).
    • The multiple references to "Cycles" are a hint to the endless cycle of suffering Mickey is experiencing in this mod.
    • All characters with black buttons are under punishments of the devil, a mark carried by the cursed ones.
      • BF Has the buttons on his pants white even if he is punished by the devil, although they will not always be like this
    • BF and GF being the great-great-grandparents of Ninjamuffin's BF, this BF was never able to meet his son because he was trapped in hell forever. GF was pregnant before the events of the mod but could not tell BF the news because she never found him again (bad ending). In the good ending, she gets to tell BF the news but is interrupted by Mickey's death and the portal sucking BF into hell. Seeing him disappear and never return, she takes him as dead, when her son was born they eventually visit his grave to say hello.
    • The reason why GF doesn't have the same Mickey Mouse faces when she fails is because she is not cursed, but BF is.
    • Icons always have hints of what happened next to the character, especially with Mickey and BF.
  • According to the developers, there was going to be a true ending of the mod, but it was scrapped.
    • Hellhole was said to be the true ending song, but it was changed to be the continuation of the bad ending.
      • That explains why Satan at the end of Hellhole says, "There is no such thing as a good, or bad ending. Just one end".
  • In the 2nd half of Versiculus Iratus until the end of the song, in the far right crowd of skeletons, the skeleton that roasts Jellybean can be seen.
  • The Soyjak turning into a skeleton at the end of Kriman't is likely a reference to a scene in Mokey's Show: There is no virus, in which upon being punched by Momi, Mokey slightly deflates, and a human skeleton falls out of his body.
  • Some of the scrapped songs will be repurposed for VS Flaco Remastered.

Leitmotifs

  • Three songs in this mod has three motifs to Cycles from Vs. Sonic.Exe: One in Sunset, another in Hellhole, and one in Spring March.
  • Last Day has a motif to Discharge from the Corruption mod.
  • The beginning instrumental of the original version of Unknown Suffering also sounds similar to Left Unchecked (From Friday Night Funkin’ Lullaby), plus having some of it’s and Defeat’s (Vs. Imposter) leitmotifs.
  • Three songs have leitmotifs for both Dejection and Unknown Suffering. For Dejection, there is a leitmotif in cravings. For Unknown Suffering, there is a leitmotif in Hellhole. Spring march has both songs as leitmotifs.
  • Hunger Pangs has Three leitmotifs in its song. (For WWE Fans) The beginning and the end sound like The Rising Sun “Shinsuke Nakamura” by CFO$. Hunger Pangs also have leitmotifs to Steamboat Willie, and Cravings.
  • Versiculus Iratus, Vesania, and Hellhole all have leitmotifs to Unknown Suffering.
    • All three of these songs have Satan present, whether it be in the background or as an opponent.

Cutscene Transcripts

Pre-Wistfulness Transcript

A title card from the early Mickey Cartoons from 1928-1929 appears, showing the following text:

"DISNEY CARTOONS PRESENT"

"A MICKEY MOUSE"
"SOUND CARTOON"

"WEDNESDAY'S INFIDELITY"

"A Walt Disney Comic

  • [All while the opening of Vesania plays in the background. The title screen then fades out into black. Another scene fades in with the slowed down the old Dejection music shortly after, showing Mickey seen happily walking. A narrator shortly explains the series of events leading up to Wistfulness:]
  • PlaceholderIcon Narrator On a beautiful Wednesday morning, Mickey saw how his beloved Minnie was talking to a tall and graceful mouse that quickly made her fall into his charms, and of course, his arms.
  • [Mickey is then shown shocked to see Mr. Slicker (also called Mortimer Mouse) apparently flirting with Minnie, her being in awe over Slicker. Slicker proceeds to tell something to Minnie, then laughs at himself]
  • PlaceholderIcon Narrator Not even bothering that Mickey was there staring, everything.
  • [Mickey is shown again, now astonished by Minnie's infidelity. He then looks away from the scene, visibly upset. We see a shot of his legs and a syringe fall down to his feet. Implying that Mickey Injected himself with a drug of sorts in order to numb the pain (Ecstasy)]
  • PlaceholderIcon Narrator Alone and afraid, waiting for his death...
  • [He is then seen walking on the street, similar to the original Suicidemouse.AVI when he bumps into someone]
  • BfIconWednesday Boyfriend Beep!
  • PlaceholderIcon Narrator ...He found something, that maybe can help...
  • [Mickey looks down to see that the person he bumped into is The Boyfriend. The screen then fades into black while still playing the distorted piano version of Steamboat Bill. Right at the end of the song, however, a bloody Mickey face jumpscares the viewer, ending the music and the cutscene]

Unknown Suffering

  • [As a slowed version Dejection plays with a shot of Mickey claiming that he's fine but the music gets interrupted afterwards as Mickey started going insane, He showed a syringe to Boyfriend as he is ready to get him injected.]

Sunsets (Good Ending?)

  • [Mickey reverts back to his original design while Minnie explains to Boyfriend that she actually never loved Mr. Slickers as it was a misunderstanding.]
  • BfIconWednesday Boyfriend Beep!
  • [Mickey looks at him again as if he wants to sing with him once again as he felt like believing Minnie. Mickey shrugs, and the screen fades to black before the song plays.]

Post-Sunsets

  • [Mickey and Boyfriend fist bump as they finish their final song together.]
  • PlaceholderIcon Narrator Oh, but what a happy ending!
  • [Mickey is seen happily talking with Minnie, who is also happy to be back with him.]
  • PlaceholderIcon Narrator Because our dear friend Mickey stopped lamenting, that Wednesday morning was bright again. The beauty and the warmth of the sun showed the true happiness, of being alive!
  • [Boyfriend gives a thumbs up to Mickey, who gives him one back in return. Girlfriend appears, relieved that her boyfriend is safe and sound and greets him with a smile.]
  • PlaceholderIcon Narrator Both friends managed to survive.
  • [The syringe Mickey attempted to inject Boyfriend with is shown discarded on the floor.]
  • PlaceholderIcon Narrator The syringe that was once in Mickey's hand ended up on the floor because he wanted along with his new buddy to explore. There is still a lot in store, for the two of them behind that door and I'll be waiting for another show...
  • [The cutscene fades to black on a shot of Mickey, Boyfriend and Girlfriend smiling at each other as they get ready to head their own separate ways.]
  • PlaceholderIcon Narrator *Sigh...* I'm tired of pretending.
  • [The cutscene abruptly fades back in as the narrator's sudden shift in tone causes Boyfriend to look behind him with a concerned look, and Mickey also starts to shake uncontrollably.]
  • PlaceholderIcon Narrator The song you two sang believing it made a difference. Do you really think it's that easy to be happy again?!
  • [Mickey's head suddenly and violently explodes as some of his blood splatters onto Boyfriend's face.]
  • Icon-satanNeutral Satan LOOK WHAT YOU'VE MADE ME DO, YOU FOOLISH MOUSE.
  • [The cutscene then fades to black on a shot of a portal to hell, which Mickey and Boyfriend are unwillingly dragged into off camera.]

Last Day

  • [As the effects of the drugs finally start to wear off, Mickey is seen trembling in despair, holding a firearm (presumably a Desert Eagle .50AE) up to his head ready to end his misery as Boyfriend stares emptily at him]
  • BfIconWednesday Boyfriend Boop?!?
  • [A portal opens up behind Boyfriend, who turns around in shock. He manages to grab and firmly hold onto the ground to avoid being sucked in and looks up towards Mickey. The cutscene ends with a close up shot of Mickey's silhouette with the gun still pointed at his head.]

Post-Last Day

  • [As the old version of Last Day fades in during a black screen, we see Boyfriend trying to save Mickey but then Mickey shoots himself, making Boyfriend lose his grip as he failed to save him. The camera zooms in closer to him and then blood splatters onto his face. He appears to glitch as he gets sent into the portal. The portal then disappears, leaving a black screen once again for the last few seconds before the cutscene ends...]

Hellhole

  • [Boyfriend is seen down on his hands and knees, trembling uncontrollably after witnessing Mickey's suicide.]

  • [Boyfriend gets up.]
  • PlaceholderIcon Narrator He doesn't understand what is going on...
  • [Boyfriend trembles, due to the fact that he doesn't understand what is happening or where he is.]
  • PlaceholderIcon Narrator He has NO idea, what awaits him upon.

  • Icon-satanNeutral Satan YOU ALWAYS KNEW THAT I WAS THERE, WITH HIM... AND YOU.
  • [Boyfriend gets scared with tears in his eyes, but then it shows a skeleton for around 3 seconds, and then the screen cuts back to Boyfriend, this time his face is zoomed in closer to the screen.]
  • Icon-satanNeutral Satan STILL, YOU DECIDED TO STAY, AND LOOK AT YOU, YOU ARE NOW PART OF THIS, PART OF US. YOU ARE NOW... JUST ANOTHER TOY.
  • [The screen moves to the right, revealing Mickey standing behind boyfriend with an eerie smile. Then it snaps to Satan laughing, then the cutscene fades away.]

Post-Unknown Suffering (Teaser)
